Late review, but nonetheless important!! November 21, 2025 purchase of 600 food items at the Ukiah Walmart: This is a shout-out for their employee, Petey!! She was extremely helpful and kind. Petey went out of her way to keep me updated on my order. When I brought the wrong size vehicle for the huge order, she displayed much patience which helped me manage the stress of returning with a larger vehicle; a 3-hour round-trip. Petey was very skilled at driving a forklift to load a couple of pallets of food into the van. If you ever have a large order or need a very helpful & friendly employee to work with, Petey is your person!! Thank you so much! Walmart better hang onto this employee because she promotes your business in the greatest way an employee can. read more

Watch out for the older Caucasian lady working in the makeup section with bright blue eyeshadow. She acted like I was trying to steal $8 powder foundation and made me feel stupid when she told me I had to have the product rang up at the designated cosmetic register. She is a very harsh and tough woman who will find an issue with anything you do. However, the food selection was good. read more

I came to Walmart this morning to return a few items. Ended up waiting in line for 20 minutes with the ONLY lady that KNEW how to do returns hiding behind another station claiming that she was busy. If your going to have a whole new station for returns then there needs to be multiple people that can run it. Not to mentions workers should have NO RIGHT to laugh and talk about you with another worker simply because your asking for help. This is completely wrong and I'll be speaking to a manager. I do not recommended this store for anyone. If you can have 30-40 workers just sitting on their butt then you should fire them and only hire a few that can actually do their job right. read more

I recently moved to Ukiah and was in need of many items. From food to small appliances and bedding. In a two month period I spent over a thousand dollars in the Ukiah store or online. I had to return two items out of the many items I purchased. I have never in my life been treated so poorly by the customer service desk. Both women working the customer service desk were rude. Don't remember their names, but they are white, as I am., so I don't want this to be about prejudice. I found them both lazy and pissed they had to box up a return and ship it to a vendor. I went back to purchase a TV and the guy working in that department had a badge that said team lead. He watched as a man in his seventies helped me place a TV in my cart as I was struggling. That was it !!! you lost my business online and in the store. I'm also an older women of 68 who was much in need of assistance. What a bunch of LAZY employees. Good by Walmart read more

I had moved to the area a couple years ago and have never seen such a poor selection of clothing options. There had been spring clothing (especially casual pants) year round which consisted unattractive colors and patterns. In a rare occasion, when a nice color came out, it would fly off the shelves. Whoever does the clothing ordering desperately needs a fashion lesson or perhaps a visit from a corporate rep. Customer service is very poor, especially at the service desk. read more

I almost didn't go because of the reviews. Four stars due to the loud construction. They're doing a store reset and it's very well organized. My wife has limited vision and had no trouble finding items in the grocery section. The cashier at self checkout was very nice. I usually shop at the one that's local to my area. I came here a couple of times before, and I was somewhat impressed by the larger selection of items compared to my local Wally World. HOWEVER, I swear, if you come here and need something that actually requires assistance... you should pack a lunch. Me and my wife needed something from fabrics. We waited.... and waited.... and waited.... pressed the help button many times.... NOBODY came! We finally gave up after 20 minutes. Then I needed a pair of headphones, and there was only one person there. I had to wait another 15 minutes as the worker had to explain something in the photo department step-by-step-by-step because the customer had NO clue how to work a self service machine I guess. It's not really the employees faults. From what I saw, Wal-Mart has this store severely understaffed for its size. For instance, whenever I go to my local one, there's always at least 3 people in electronics, at least 1 in the fabrics, and MANY in the clothing. Not too bad of a place if you just need a couple of ordinary items, but IMHO, steer clear of this place if you need something more. read more

I am the Duke of Walmart. I am not proud, and to be honest I used to be a little ashamed to shop here. Shopping at Walmart goes against a lot of things I believe in. Such as, supporting local small business. And this Walmart in particular has killed or hurt many of places I used to go to growing up. But Walmart is trying to improve it's reputation. 1. They no longer use plastic bags, they now only sell blue reusable shopping bags for $0.25. This is much better for our environment and something I wish more stores would do. Filthy restrooms! Old and Unclean store. Poorly designed, minimal maternity clothing and crammed in lingerie area. Used self checkout to get out fast but could not exit two older female Walmart employees and older female customer were blocking the exit door just looonnngg conversation. I slide between them so I could get the car cooled down for my 9 month pregnant daughter who was finishing checking out. When my daughter finally got out she said, she could not get out because of three older women just stood blocking the exit. Said, two were Walmart employees and she thought the customer was also an employee. Walmart management needs to address this SAFETY issue!!!! read more

RUDE AND LAZY STAFF! We had asked the cosmetics counter to open the locked razor cabinet and were told they'd call someone over, we pressed the button for help a dozen times and watched the worker in the yellow vest that could help look over at and ignore it while talking to some guys about tattoos... It was awkward that my husband had to walk over to her, her being CHRISTINA... and even then she couldn't pull away from the guys and her conversation, all the while touching their arms and flirting. I know Walmart already has a bad reputation for their customers & customer service, but this went too far. I saw a mouse running around the store and alerted 2 employees. They were completely shocked and said they would tell a manager. But they didn't. I sarcastically offered to tell a manager & they said, "would you please? Might be better coming from a customer than us." I then replied, "sure. I wouldn't want to put you out in any way. God for bed I have you do your job." & they just laughed. I then went to customer service and tell them about the mouse. They were appalled at the fact there employees did nothing. The customer service rep never called the manager. I was checking out at the self checkout line, where a clerk is there to assist you. she stood there as people were checking out & we pressed that we would like to purchase a store bag for 10 cents. when we completed our order, we looked and there were no bags at ANY self checkout, although WE WERE CHARGED FOR THE BAG WE BOUGHT. when we asked the lady where were the bags, she said "we don't have any bags today"...what??...there were no signs saying this ANYWHERE in the store. there were NO SIGNS SAYING THIS on the self checkout machines. SHE DID NOT SAY ANYTHING TO US as we were checking our purchases out. when we said "well, where can we GET a bag?" she said "THERE ARE NO BAGS. IF YOU WANT YOUR DIME BACK YOU HAVE TO GO STAND IN LINE AT CUSTOMER SERVICE"...what?...why did they not put signs at the front entrance, or the check out lines or self checkout counters? a post-it note on the 3 working machines is too hard to do? it was too hard for the lady standing there to tell people who were walking up that there were NO BAGS???...Imagine how much extra money they steal at the end of the day & split. THIS IS A SCAM. they NEVER answer their phones, not even the deli or the pharmacy, none of the 8 extensions in the phone menu are operated by any humans & there is no option to leave a message. this is typical of the idiots who run & operate this particular store. you can NEVER get through to ANYONE EVER. they WILL NOT answer the phone AT ALL....I wonder why? perhaps they are tired of hearing how badly people are treated there? they added an extra $20.00 to my total a few months back, & I didn't realize it until we got home. where we live, it would be more in gas than that was worth. same as standing in a huge line at customer service for a few dimes. if they didn't have any bags in the store WHY WERE THEY NOT EQUIPPED WITH A ROLL OF DIMES AT EVERY CHECK OUT STAND SO WE COULD BE REFUNDED OUR MONEY? this is crap. this store is the pits. the shopping carts & parking lot are filthy & I will never shop there again. this is a deliberate rip-off. probably a competition between cashiers to see who ends up with the most extra stolen money at the end of their shift. nice. this store & employees suck. I would have to agree with some of the review here, it is just like other Walmart's I have been to, but I know I have been to a couple that are out of this world too. This location I would say is out of this world, but for a whole different reason. I can see why people post funny pictures of people that come to Walmart, and this location did not disappoint me in that fact. Everything was going fine, while I was here doing some shopping while in town for a couple of day, but then when I arrived at the cash register, that is when things went horrible wrong. There were only 3 other people in front of me, however the cashier had problem after problem ringing the customer up that was in line. This just took forever, as she needed to always find her supervisor walking away from her register at least 4 different times I counted. Then it happened when the next customer started to ring their items. I could not believe the service here, but again I was not totally surprised in the service. I would recommend, if you are coming to this location use the self check out system, it will save you the time and pain watching a cashier that does not know what she was doing. read more

My husband and I stopped into the Ukiah Walmart and were totally disappointed at the lack of employees. There was 1 person working in the electronics department who also had to work the photo department and cashier as well. There was no one to unlock a 9.99 item that we were wanting to purchase. While the employee searched for long lost photos that a lady had dropped off a month ago the rest of us waited around for what seemed like forever before I finally asked to speak with a manager. The employee told us that two people were on vacation. Sounds like the manager needs more training. Why would he let two people take vacations from the same department at the same time ? read more

This is a poor excuse of a Walmart. I wrote to the company to complain about the service and the way my family and I were treated. We had just moved to Mendocino County and being a Walmart Store fan, I knew I could count on Walmart to have the supplies we needed, as well as the medicines and special care products required for my elderly parents. We spent over $900 on curtains, towels, cleaners, laundry supplies, bedding, home products, etc., etc., We also bought a new stock of necessary medicines, medical supplies, etc. IT was HORRIBLE.... I didn't know they didn't provide bags. I was so angry when they threw my father's meds and tiny items in the bottom of the basket where he couldn't get them out. He was humiliated and embarrassed- and the clerks did not offer to help him, they treated him like an object on a conveyor belt... just get rid of him and continue to the next person. I cannot express the sadness in watching my father (almost 90 years old) trying to understand why he was being treated in such a rude fashion. Providing a bag for purchasing products is only right. Walmart claims by not providing plastic bags, they are helping the environment.... really? Then provide a paper bag. If only for the tinier items, medicines and such. We bring our own canvas bags for most of our shopping, and we are happy to do so, but this Ukiah Walmart should have been understanding and kinder to my family. My father might be just another customer or an "old man" to them- but he means the world to me.... as my father, friend and a human being, who deserves respect and kindness, a little understanding and compassion.... all of which Ukiah Walmart LACKS. Because of this experience and a few others in Ukiah Walmart, I've resorted to purchasing items online from Walmart.com and avoiding the Ukiah store all together. The medicines are bought at our local pharmacy... so we are free and clear of such horrible service. By the way... I'm super pleased at the delivery and products I receive from Walmart.com. It's wonderful to have all the things I could buy at Walmart, DELIVERED to my front door! Usually it all comes with FREE shipping! Such a better deal than driving an hour and a half to be treated like crap. I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone... go south to Windsor Walmart, which is a little better... at least they provide bags! read more

This is one major hot-spot in Ukiah... it is always busy. And as much as I generally do not like big box stores, I find myself needing to go to Wal Mart here [ or to make the trek to Santa Rosa for Costco] You can't beat the pricing... I mean, a dozen eggs $1.67 -- they were double that at Safeway. So I bite the bullet and take myself there. Today was a breeze and I was really happy to get most of what I needed and won't have to go to the regular grocery store for awhile. Got the essentials, and a few extras... threw in candy for hubbie, colors & coloring book for Darren, hair color for me! They don't carry fresh fruits & veggies, so a trip to the produce store tomorrow, but THAT I LIKE. Lots of eager staff that are around to help. I think they have a great policy of hiring the elderly too... for many senior citizens seem to work here. So a shopping trip I kind of dreaded wasn't so bad today... and I got a jump on some things for the T'giving feast next week-- and they were a deal! read more

How do you rate a Wal-mart? It can't be against other department stores, because Wal-mart is in a class of it's own....not a high class of course, just a class. So, in comparing this Wal-mart to others...how does it stand up you ask? Well, two years ago, I would have given it a 4. But when I walked in there last week, the fabric dept. is 1.4 of what it was, isles are wider with less stuff on them, thus this store is now carrying less merchandise in general. I looked at teh shoes....the selection was poor. I checked the kids clothes, and socks and undies....very poor. The place was clean, but had nothing I was interested in. A bit disappointed.... according to two different Walmart employees, Walmart (the store) no longer price matches with any competitors; the "price match guarantee" only applies to the store price vs. the Walmart.com price. This absolutely makes no sense. A quick google search informs me that this apparent change in policy happened back in 2016. What a shame! After a rough night of being towed to the parking lot and spending the night sitting outside the Tire and Lube Express we were created very kindly by employees even before the store opened....on a holiday. I wish I caught the name of the first gentleman that helped us, but he had brown hair and glasses. He let us know to be inside about 6:50 am in the cash register area to get our ticket in. That was definitely the secret because cars started coming in fast. Norman took our order, and we were SO lucky that you guys had our weird tire size for these ugly rims in stock. I added an oil change because it was desperately overdue. It wasn't even 45 minutes later we were completely done. The highlight of our visit was AJ, the Service Manager. She provided us valuable information regarding our tire that went flat and another tire that needed to be handled immediately. Had we not already had a brand new set at home waiting to be put on, we would have bought a new tire from her right then. She took the time to show us the immediate area of concern and my husband was down on the ground with her inspecting the crucial area that she was pointing out. I've never had customer service like this with a tire or oil change and definitely not at our local Walmart. I definitely wish ours was the same. read more

Wowsers! What a super duper clean, well-stocked, competent Wally World! I know I know, cardinal sin that I even glanced at a Wal-Mart store, much less than walking in. And you know what? I don't regret it. The store is on the tiny size (compare to giant land) but the store is amazingly clean. Every aisle and shelf was well-stocked. Employees there were super quadruple friendly. And for finding basic necessities, great prices. Guess there's not much going on in Ukiah...but at least that small town feel is apparent in this corporate store. read more

I am a nurse being dispatched to NY to help with the COVID-19 crisis. I came in to buy extra sets of scrubs only to see that all clothing areas are cordoned off. I asked an assistant if she could get hand me a set, she refused saying she wasn't allowed. Scrubs are essential to the "essential workers" putting our lives on the line to help our nation. First and last time I will go to this Walmart. 10 minutes shopping and over 20 minutes in line?! Absolutely ridiculous when there is only 2 people ahead of you! Self checkout would have been ok but for one reason or another they were only permitting people who were using a card to go through there. I did not see any disinfecting of the self checkout registers between customers either, but I guess that doesn't mean it wasn't happening. Even though the employee manning that area left her post several times to announce to other lines that they could use self checkout if they weren't using cash. This Walmart is filthy too! While standing in line near the jewelry counter I noticed what I can only describe as dirty grease spots from people's hair, skin and hands all over the glass. When I started getting closer to the register there were mask-less children in the next line over literally playing, wallowing and laying all over the turn style where the plastic bags used to be and touching everything while the parents let them! I did not notice ANY employee walking around with any type of cleaner for disinfecting any area. Mask wearing was very lax, sure you have to wear one to get in but as soon as people were away from the door most had either pulled them off or uncovered their nose. Which certainly defeats the intended purpose. Most shelves were bare or nearly bare of products in just about every section of the store. The air inside was thick like the air conditioning was not running only fans, just the same dirty recycled air being circulated through what I can only imagine are dirty filters which probably haven't been changed since COVID-19 started. Walmart here in Ukiah California is an absolute joke. They never pick up the phone they are never staffed well enough and most of all. Customer service doesn't exist, they treat their customers like crap they are extremely disappointing the Ukiah location actually fired two women one of them worked there for 20+ years because they charged her on her personal life and this wasn't anything about using drugs or alcohol in excess, this was about personal lifestyle choices. She chose to divorce her husband and finally be with somebody she loved dearly this company may keep their prices low but the way they train their staff is disgusting they also treat their staff badly which rolls right out to the customer the wait times are horrific as well. read more
