Grocery store itself is clean and well stocked. Staff is friendly. But if you are wanting a deli sandwich I highly recommend avoiding getting one here. No care into building the sandwich. This review reflects the difficulty the store causes for customers wishing to use the restroom. It's not surprising it is locked. What is surprising is that despite it being next to the pharmacy, those staff tell you to go up front to ask for the restroom unlock code. What the heck, pharmacy personnel aren't entrusted with the bathroom code. So customers have to talk with a checker up front, then walk back to the rear of the store. Lots of good things about Raley's but they need to train staff better. Be careful: I accidentally grabbed the wrong Vermouth, 6 bottles, wrong brand, pristine and in same bag purchased in. Would not return. Apparently there is a policy of absolutely no alcohol returns which is not so well known, and absolutely not known to me. Fine. But the representative could have handled it a lot better, offered the sale or a small discount on six bottles of the one I really wanted to get (bottles look similar, wrong one was in spot where correct one usually sits), or just been a bit nicer. He offered no option, no kindness, no incentive. Just acted like he really couldn't care less. Shop carefully. read more

When I lived in Ukiah, for a few decades, Raley's was the main place that I used to shop for groceries. It was on the way home from work--so it was convenient. Some things that I have loved about Raleys: they have a fabulous section of veggies and fruits--which includes Organic. They have a deli that is pretty doggone good. Their staff is friendly. And I love that if you buy some food and it isn't satisfactory--they make it right!!! They also have a Pete's coffee bar. read more

Highest prices in town, worst customer service. Most staff members act like they don't want to be there. And problems with their electronic coupons are chronic; when you protest an electronic coupon not being honored, the attitude is that it must be your fault. If you try to contact Raley's corporate, you will get no response - I've seen this happen when an employee themselves tried to call! If you must shop at Raley's, be on-guard against being ripped off. read more

I shop at Raleys alot. I'm not a bakery person as I do that myself,usually. It was my BD yesterday. Since I ended up cooking my own dinner, I chose to buy a strawberry filled layer cake piece. Cake was moist, tasty, frosting light not too sweet. But, (there's always a but) the filling was HORRENDOUS. No strawberry taste at all, tho an overly cooked, processed piece of some fruit fell out, unidentified Just a red goo from a bucket of commercial filling. Chemical taste & also the filling tasted way beyond its do (DON'T) date. I don't blame the bakers. Raleys needs to improve their products. There are no corner bakeries, other than donuts/bagel shops here, & other grocery stores. C19 blaming has nothing to do with strawberry filling, as it's strawberry season now. I normally give Raleys top reviews, especially considering against some other local markets, but had such an awful experience that a negative review would be left if possible. I had bought some chicken and one of the packs stuck when we opened it, it was still 3 days from expiring. I didn't have time to run out to Raleys so I popped the bad chicken into the freezer to stop the stink. Two days later (the date it said to freeze or cook by) I took it into the Raleys butcher counter and explained to the young man working the counter, and he just kept interrupting me and telling me "once I freeze it is my problem what happens to the meat, it's not their responsibility", I kept trying to get him to understand that I froze it to cut down the smell so it wouldn't stink up my house/fridge until I could get it back to the store. He continued to interior and told me I could bring it back the next day to see if the manager would help, but he then stated "he won't, cause you froze it, it's now your fault. I had the receipt and it was in the original packaging, it was still mostly froze but you could clearly smell the stink, so I am supposed to load this thing back in my car and haul it back again the next day! I threw it out and ate the $16 loss that WAS NOT MY FAULT!!! As a meat worker you would think he would know that freezer burn and meat that spoiled too soon is different, but the young man was so rude and hostile, I don't think it would have mattered no matter the situation, he is one of the rude workers that uses the bit of power he has in his position to demean and belittle his customers. At this point, I'm not looking to go back to Raleys anytime soon. If they won't guarantee the product is good until it's expiration date, it is t safe to spend my hard earned money there! I'd highly suggest you (Raley's) look into the road worker in the butcher department, no customer deserves to be treated the way he treated me. read more

The store is decent for the most part however the deli and bakery are a joke. The women in there are rude. Cakes look like a mess. Asked for a particular salami in the display and the woman refused to sell it to me insisting I had to by the other brand. She told me the type of salami I wanted was just a display . I won't ever use there deli or bakery again. read more

The employees have always been very friendly, especially the store director Carla! The layout is easy to maneuver and the prices are comparable to all the other grocery stores in the area. And the free fruit for kids is a hit with my daughter every time we go into any Raley's. read more

The holidays can be a hectic and stressful time for all, plus throw into the mix a pandemic and you are sure to create chaos. I think I finally found my happy place with the most pleasant employees EVER! Huge shout out to the gregarious blonde young man that was organizing the cabbages in the produce section. Not only was he quick to help me, but he had such an incredible personality -- this truly is an example of the continuation of Mr. Raley's legacy of phenomenal service. People like this are a rare find and customer service is almost non existent nowadays. This clerk is incredibly warm, patient, and helpful to the elderly customers which brought a smile to my face. Thank you to the young woman that corrales the carts outside. She was nice enough to take my cart so I didn't have to walk back to "cart jail." Here we go again. I arrived at the store on July 23 around noon. A young man (light brown hair, likely a teenager) greeted everyone. He was quite polite and friendly. He was using a garden sprayer with disinfectant on each cart and offered to do an additional wash on one customer's cart handle. I'm a retired high school teacher, and I've been around a lot of teens. This young man was sincerely pleasant and clearly cares about his job. Hopefully, his manager will see this, so I included date and time. He's a keeper. read more

I called in looking for a specific brand of dog food; my little dog is a picky eater and dislocated her hip yesterday and will not eat anything else. We were *very* specific and insisted that they check and have it in their hands so there would be no miscommunication, this Raleys location is over an hour drive from my home. I arrived just now and they do not even carry the dog food! They never have. They simply lied to us out of laziness or something worse. I now just drive another 2.5hours in the opposite direction to Sacramento. The person who helped us lied to the manager and said we were told that they did not carry the dog food, but carried something similar. This is simply not true or possible, we are painfully aware of the alternatives, there is no room for experimentation. The food in question is the Purple Bag of Blue Buffalo dog food for TOY breeds. They had us drive here under false pretenses to try and sell us the food for "small" dogs, one that our can will/not eat. It would have taken them 2 minutes to leave the office and actually check the shelves, instead of having me drive 2 ours out of my way in the wrong direction while my dog suffers. They should lose their job and management should be checked. What a horrible experience. read more

Raley's is a 130 store chain in California and Nevada, so what can you say about the local store other than that it is a big supermarket? I haven't been in many of the others, so can't comment on the chain as a whole. The local Raley's has very friendly people, unloads the shopping cart for you, has the friendliest, most cooperative butchers anywhere, and the prices are comparable to the other markets in town. As a chain, Raley's boasts about its attempts to be green, including fitting its big rigs that deliver to the local stores from their warehouses with new technology to reduce particulate emissions. read more

I got three breakfast sandwichs this morning and although they were cooked on the panini grill they were still ice cold in the center. No time to have them remade so just a loss on this one. Would be 1 star but most other times food is good. Service though, every time I go there in the morning, when I ask to order something the staff are pissed because I'm interrupting what they're doing. read more

This is the only 'mainstream ' market I go to for food in Ukiah, when I'm not going to our local health food store. Why? This store is managed really, really well. The employees are obviously happy to be here..they have the same cashiers from when I first started shopping here 4 years ago. Raleys has such an impressive array of GF foods...organic foods and imports. I have so much fun shopping here...and seeing the familiar faces of their employees. Raley's is a great market with a full deli, meat department, and great produce. The wine selection is great and of course I am always searching out gluten free selections and they had it covered. It is easy to find and is right off the freeway if you are traveling. I give them 5 stars for having a very clean restroom too, and when one is traveling that is important, let me rephrase that, a clean restroom means the facility is kept clean! The prices are a little high but the convenience makes up for everything because I remember when the markets were limited! read more

Stopped at Raley's a little after 9pm to find a bite to eat. It seemed like most of the restaurants in Ukiah closed by 9pm. The deli was already closed, but the awesome deli guy opened shop to make my friend and I some sandwiches. I forget the name of the sub, but it had sprouts and bacon and was super tasty :) read more

I love this store and the employees are nice and helpful. I have been taking advantage of the ecart service and have also great service. Jamie, Kelli and Mai are great and always pick the freshest meat and vegetables. We have also used the pharmacy with great success. the store is nice & most employees are too but i had recently had uncooked chicken from the ones already made by the bread isle & inside the chicken had a maggot no i did not call this in now is was only one maggot but c'mon. but a couple of days later my mom & her boyfriend got sick off of their chicken too. i used to love getting this chicken almost basically everyday. not sure if any one else had this problem but maybe it was just my chicken. never seemed to have anything wrong before. ‍ read more

The store layout is good and the aisles are wide enough to accommodate more than 1 1/2 carts. But their prices are higher than the local economy can support and the pastries in their bakery are never fully cooked. They are always doughy which leads me to be concerned about salmonella. I go there only when necessary or if they may have a product I use that is on sale. read more

Went to the Deli around 8:50 pm. They are supposed to close at 9. No one was there. Knocked on the Deli door. A lady opened and said they were closed. I said they were supposed to be open till 9 pm.
