We have used Walgreens for years, and have been satisfied with their service. However, since about…read morefour months ago, Walgreens on W Colorado Ave in Colorado Springs have been drop shipping their prescriptions out of Denver, on demand. The latter system could work in theory, but the following has happened more than once, with U100 Insulin (which is inconvenient/dangerous for customers): 1. Doctor orders prescription 2. Walgreens W Colorado Ave orders 3. Then says it is out of stock and will be delayed 4. They also then have closed unexpectedly for periods of time 5. This has resulted in getting Insulin 2 or 3 weeks after prescribed 6. Then Medicare/Walgreens records this delayed date as the "start date" 7. This may happen again before a 3-month prescription is filled fully 8. Thus, the patient may miss an entire bottle, resulting in no Insulin over a weekend, which just happened to us I don't know if it is just incompetence at the local pharmacy, or Walgreens corporate is intentionally bolstering their centralized stock by skimming off 1/3 to 1/4 of a full prescription. Either way, we've changed to Safeway as our pharmacy. We're sorely tired of this routine.

Calhan Store Two Stars -- One for Showing Up, One for My…read moreRestraint This really deserves one star, but I'm offering two: one for the faint hope my prescription might eventually be filled, and one for the patience it took not to mirror the energy I was given. Let's talk about Brittany -- the front counter assistant who consistently acts like customer service is a personal punishment. Every interaction feels like walking into a storm you didn't cause but are expected to apologize for. Her default expression could curdle milk, and her tone makes you feel like you've asked her to hand over a kidney rather than check on your medication. I came in recently to follow up on an inhaler requested two days ago. Brittany barely glanced at me before saying, "Can I help you?" -- the verbal equivalent of a slammed door. After giving my information, she told me they had nothing, then barked, "What are you looking for?" When I clarified, she flatly said a request was sent to my doctor. That was it. No follow-up, no compassion, no sense that she's aware she's speaking to a human being. I stayed calm, because I choose grace -- even when the person across the counter is handing out hostility like it's her signature fragrance. To management: this isn't just about slow prescriptions -- it's about the atmosphere created by the person meant to represent your business. Brittany doesn't just kill the vibe -- she embalms it. If customer care is the face of your pharmacy, you might want to consider a new mirror. Mic dropped. Prescription still pending.
