I don't write many reviews but a young man working in the Pharmacy is extraordinary! His name is Theo and he is amazing. He operated two computers simultaneously, rapidly serving customers. When I arrived at the Pharmacy I was dismayed to see 20+ folks standing in line. I thought I would be there for a couple of hours. To my amazement, Theo completely served everyone in 15-20 minutes! Came in for a simple door dash order. Noticed a man needed help ahead of me the cashier stuck her hand in his face and said uno momento without trying to figure out what he needed she shoved him to the side. I asked him in Spanish what he needed and it was a simple card activatation I told the cashier she completely ignored me like if I didn't exist. When I say this lady ignored my simple presence. I told her again because maybe she didn't hear me right? She again ignores me waits 30 seconds to say are you with him? If not he doesn't need your help. The most racist encounter. read more

Just spend 2 hours on the phone on hold waiting for someone to answer. Okay, well wait. I was on hold for about 45 minutes, finally got through to the Pharmacy tech, was talking to him and he disconnected me, then I called back and was on hold for an hour and 15 minutes until they closed. - So why did i want to talk to them? Because they once again refilled a prescription I didn't ask for and no longer use. Now I KNOW I should tell my husband the name of my prescriptions he's picking up, and he should check the name, but when you say you have two and he picks up two and you know KNOW that they've refilled two you didn't ask for and no longer Take...well... Problem is I can't afford to pay for medications I'm no longer taking. And I should realize they DO this as this is the 2nd time this has happened. I seriously need to Not use them anymore. I have NEVER had a worse experience in my life. I arrived 5 mins before closing and apologized to staff as I literally ran to the diaper aisle grabbed a pack of Huggies and ran to the front. Lucy rolled her eyes and scanned the item which was 6$ more expensive than the price the shelf said. I politely asked if there had been a mistake and Lucy proceeded to robotically repeat herself "the price is 29.99. do you want it or not?" The over and over again as if we were on a playground and I asked to use her toy.... she then told the security guard I was arguing with her about the price. I explained the situation and the security guard showed me that the price i saw was with a coupon, which I understood. Lucy then told me I "shouldn't shop so late if I wanted customer service." I was so upset I entered the wrong pin for my card and she then grabbed the diapers and put them at her feet. "DECLINED" she boldly declared.... it was midnight and I was buying a pack of diapers... if I didn't HAVE to be shopping, I promise I wouldn't. I have been frustrated with Walgreens my entire adult life. They never honor their Sale Ads. I dutifully clicked on the coupon for $1 off the 1 lb. bag of Blue Diamond almonds before heading out to the store. And I made SURE it said "CLIPPED". Lol, I even thought about using my computer's Snipping Tool to take a snipit of it, print it out on a piece of paper, and carrying it to the store with me! Because I know how Walgreens operates! But, nah, I said to myself, that's silly. But, sure enough, when I got ot Walgreens to make my Blue Diamond Almonds purchase, the coupon didn't show up for the cashier. The manager was standing right there too and said, "Oh, yeah. Sometimes, even though the coupon says, "Clipped" on your computer screen, it doesn't always "take." Sorry. If it doesn't show up on our checkout screen, we can't honor it." We've been having a lot of that sort of problem." I really have a great experience today at Walgreens. The staff were really long. The store was very tidy, and I was very great full for the help from the pharmacy staff. The pharmacy staff are all very knowledgeable of medications and pricing. I also must say I appreciate that they utilized the CharityRX card that helped me save $72 on my prescription today. I would recommend this Walgreens store anytime for great service, and help. Also I lll share the card they accept to help save on your prescriptions. Works with insurance so even if you have insurance still use the card. That way you are getting your maximum amount of savings. read more

One of the worst pharmacies I've visited. Returned from their lunch break 15 minutes late. It isn't actually 24/7 if they are closed for 45 min (supposed to be 30 min) in the middle of the day. Would give 1/2 a star if I could! I never take the time to leave reviews & here I am. I had a lumbar L3-S1 spinal fusion yesterday 2/20/23 & was discharged this morning. Walgreens was given my prescription from my Surgeon by my boyfriend. They told him my medications would be ready between 2:15-2:30pm, so we wait (I'm in a lot of pain by the way, I was last given pain meds at 7:30am) and he gets there at the time he was told and they wouldn't give him the meds!! They said they needed to talk to the Doctor when this was directly from the Doctor! why would they tell us meds would be ready at a certain time? they should've, if anything, had said we need to talk to the Doctor then we can fill it. I'm pretty sure none of them would like to be in the amount of pain I'm in, nor seeing their loved ones in my pain. I get needing to be careful for harder drugs but ALSO be consciousness when patients are asking for these meds there's likely a GOOD REASON SUCH AS BACK SURGERY!!! So disappointed. And I'm in so. This has been my go-to Walgreens for as long as I've lived here, and I've never had anything but great service. In this uncertain time, they are doing the most to make sure that their store is clean and cautious to keep us all healthy. This was the first place I saw using q-tips so I didn't have to touch the buttons in the credit card machine- so genius! And their drive through has continued to function at high capacity so I can get my medications contact-free. Thank you for keeping us safe! read more

We came in from North Dakota and were needing to stop by for a cough syrup for my 2 year old son, so we decided to stop by for the emergency. I guess Christmas Day (25th) is a reasonable holiday to not be open, however, store was closed due to short staff, however, I was able to pick up a cough syrup through drive thru which was a life saver. Mind you, wait in the drive thru was at least an hour. read more

If I could give this pharmacy 0 stars I would! My medication was sent directly from the doctors office 2 days ago, the same medications I receive EVERY month.( INSULIN) When I called on December 28th to inquire what is going on with my medications I was told it would be ready on the 29th. Of December. Ok, 1 day latter is whatever, the rude lady that answered the pharmacy phone says if you don't like it I can cancel your prescription you can go back to your doctor and have it sent to another pharmacy hence you can just wait longer. Ok whatever I'm not arguing nor am I being rude. I politely said ma'am my medication should be ready as it is a 30 days supply and was last picked up on Halloween so I'm a little confused as to what is going on? She says " we will have it ready for you on the 29th. And if you don't like that I WILL and CAN cancel your prescription.! I said ma'am I'm trying to understand what the problem is. She said a few unkind words and hung up the phone. Shrug it off and come in to the store the morning of December 29th. To pick my prescription and they tell me that they have canceled all my prescriptions and I will need to go to another pharmacy! I'm still confused as to what and why this is happening.. All this over INSULIN!! INSULIN of all medications!!!! This store should just simply be shut down, from the shitty ass management to their piss poor customer service! If there are 5 cars already in line for the drive-thru pharmacy, you can expect a MINIMUM wait time of an hour. Maybe if your lucky, the car in front of you will get so fed-up that they will leave which will save you about 15 minutes. It's been this way for the 3+ years that I've been coming here. Not sure why I torture myself. I'm starting to seriously consider switching pharmacies. At this point, it would take me less time to drive across town and back in less time. read more

Scheduled an app for COVID booster shot. They want you there 15 mins earlier. When you get there there are no directions, no signs so you have to make the endless line of people filling up their prescriptions. Once you finally check in, they ask you to wait. 45 minutes later and after inquiring about the long wait, turns out they forgot to hand me the questionnaires to fill out. The Walgreens at Southgate offers booster shots for Covid-19. It's easy to go online and complete their forms and make an appointment. I was able to do so and get my booster within 30 minutes. The staff was extremely polite, even though the pharmacy was rather busy. read more

I have been going to this pharmacy for about 5 years for a medication I fill monthly. Most of the visits were fine before COVID but ever since then its been about an 8 hour wait and they never answer the phone. When I was there 2 months ago, the tech entered the wrong override code and I spent half the day trying to figure out the issue; finally my prescription medical service advised me of what the problem was and I drove back to the pharmacy to tell them what they did wrong. I understand covid has caused labor shortages all over the nation but this walgreens is especially short staffed and difficult. I have recently moved my prescriptions to a different walgreens and am hopeful my issues wont happen anymore. Another reason this walgreens is especially bad is because it is a 24 hour location and the closest pharamacy to the homeless shelter 1 mile down the road. When my daughter had an ear infection several weeks ago, the doctor sent in a prescription for amoxicillian. I got to this walgreens about 30 minutes later, waited in line for another 45 minutes and when I got to the counter they said they cant see the prescription yet because their servers are so bogged down from all the prescriptions they've received. I left, called the other closest walgreens and they said they could see the prescription and would have it ready for me in 30 min. Literally FIVE minutes later I received the text saying it was ready. If you need a prescription filled, go to a different pharmacy. read more

I'm adding this review to both this Walgreens and the one on Circle as my experience involves both pharmacies. This week on a Wednesday my dr sent in a new prescription for a medication I've taken for several years. It is very important that I do not come off of this medication suddenly as doing so can cause a medical emergency. I called the Walgreens on Circle on Friday to confirm that I was ok to pickup my prescription but was told that they had not received a prescription from my provider. I then checked online to see that my prescription had in fact been put in on Wednesday ad my dr had said. I then called the circle Walgreens again and was told by a different employee that she did see the prescription but that they needed my insurance. My insurance has been on file for years with Walgreens and has not changed. I was not called or notified that this information was needed Walgreens simply chose not to fill my prescription. I provided the information again and was told that my medicine would be ready at 7pm. I checked both the phone message and online to be sure the pharmacy was open on Saturday. I drove to the circle Walgreens on Saturday to find the pharmacy window closed and a sign stating that they were only open weekdays. I then drove to the Southgate Walgreens. I asked if my prescription could be transferred there as I needed it urgently at this point. I was told yes however they did not see any prescription from my provider. I again explained that it had already been found by another employee and that it had been sent in by my dr. They told me this was not true but that they had found an old prescription with refills still on it. I said that's fine I just really need this refilled today. They said of course it will be ready in 1 1/2 hours. I came back in 2 hours and was told that my prescription was not ready but that it would be in 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I explained that they had already told me 1 1/2 hours and that it was really urgent. They said they were going on lunch and that I would just have to come back in another 1 1/2 hours. read more

This is honestly the worst Walgreens in the Springs! I've NEVER had less than a 40 minute wait time and I've come at different times throughout the day. The longest I wait was about an hour and 20 minutes and then I gave up I was so pissed. After reading through MANY of the same reviews I'm honestly confused as to why this location remains so understaffed. The staff they have are rude and unfriendly. I had a really nasty case of strep a few months ago and needed to speak with someone who worked at the pharmacy so I called, was on hold for over an hour and then I was hung up on. I called back and was put on hold again for about 45 minutes; which is especially confusing because apparently I was the next caller in line. I really just think the staff here doesn't give a flying fuck about any of their customers and it's very obvious. Do better Walgreens. read more

Maybe the problems others complain about have been fixed recently. After seeing all the negative reviews of the pharmacy I regretted picking this one at urgency care this morning. But to my surprise the wait in the drive thru was very short, cars were moved through very quickly. When I gave my name the lady said she was almost done filling my prescription, and I had driven here straight from urgent care only a few minutes away. She said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes so I parked and walked in. There were two people ahead of me in line and they were handled quickly. When I got to the counter and told the guy there I had just been at the drive thru and gave him my first name (not even last) he immediately said yep they are almost done. I walked to the next aisle to find an OTC med and when I walked back to the counter I only waited maybe another 30 seconds before he called my name to pick up my meds. Total time here was less than 15 minutes from time I pulled into the drive through with cars ahead of me until I picked up my meds inside. Outstanding customer service. Puts the ones in my town in another state to shame. read more

Went to the pharmacy to fill my sons prescription at 7pm, they said it will be ready around 930 pm. They told us to wait and they'll text us. It was getting late and so we decide to go to bed. Woke up super early thinking there would be a text for us. NOPE. Called the pharmacy, they can't find the prescription nor was there a note. All the guy could tell me is that he'll call me later about it. WTF read more

We've used this Pharmacy for 15 months now. Fed up with this and other locations in Colorado Springs. This is the 5th time the Pharmacy has been closed. Many more times they are not serving at the counter, only the drive through. They once told a walk in customer that had to stand and walk in the drive thru line for their prescription! People need their prescriptions!!! We've been told to go to another location and have the prescription transferred only to find that after driving a half an hour that pharmacy was closed as well. We'll be transferring all prescriptions to CVS or Costco tomorrow. Oh, their notification system doesn't work either! No messages are left on the phone, you only see a missed call. One star, only because Yelp requires it. read more

I don't understand why this location is so slow. No one has a sense of urgency. There have been several occasions where I am literally the only person in line and still need to wait at least 15 minutes. If you can find another pharmacy do so. this walgreens makes you wait literally hours for a prescription. literally hours. a few weeks ago i had waited 45 minutes about 3 hours after my wife's doctor had sent them in. the dr thot it would take an hour, but this walgreens is the worst. then tonight i went to pick up a script at 5pm , which was sent in by the doctor at 3:30. after a wait of 45 minutes for 2 cars ahead of me, i was told that it would still take 30 to 45 minutes. i went back an hour later and after a wait in line for 20 minutes was told that my script still was not ready and no they would not do it now as they had"20 people in line in the store and everyone wanted their script now too". i have no idea if they had already waited hours like i had. this store has no employees and no problem with lying to its customers. why would anyone go to this miserably run business? read more

I was driven thru the pharmacy after surgery yesterday. My prescription for pain had been dropped off two days prior & I told them it would require a prior authorization. Tuesday evening, they stated it wasn't done & I called my Dr twice Wednesday to have it done. On my way to the hospital, a tech called from Walgreens & told me they got it & it would be ready after my rotator cuff surgery. At 6:30 pm, my friend (who heard the it's ready call on Bluetooth) drives up & they tell me there's no prior authorization. I told her what I was told & the only way they could do it was contact the on call from my Dr. I said fine, we would wait. She asked us to pull around and come inside. We declined because I was 1 hour post surgery & it was a liability issue. I'm addition, there were at least 10 people in line inside and this was their mistake. Her "store night manager" Curtis Apathy (he said) that they were calling the police!! No yelling, no cursing, just frustration that they'd said it was ready 7 hours earlier. So, we did park and I called the physician office as my friend went inside. After talking to the answering service who connected me, he approved a 3-day supply. I texted my friend the info along with the call record he witnessed. Then I called to ask for the manager on duty. Instead of being professional, polite or even decent, he was excessively rude. I asked for the name & number of his supervisor to which he replied "call 1-80-Walgreens... I don't have any idea who it is". He also stated he was going to call police as I was blocking HIS drive through earlier. As a longtime customer, I was appalled by his rude & combative customer disservice. So I DID call & file a complaint. The store manager I spoke to today was mortified & so was the Pharmacy Manager. It's been 24 hours & they have not corrected the problem. My dr's office has faxed and called them 6 times now. Mr Curtis Apathetic also snarled that they were the 2nd busiest Walgreens in the state, so I said they should have a better demeanor with customers, if that was true! It wasn't & he likely lied about his name. As of this posting, I have not been contacted by corporate and/or a manager. Though they've been apologetic when I called, there seems to be no consequence for treating a customer with the disrespect I received. I wouldn't recommend this pharmacy to anyone unless you're a sadist who likes being abused by some nasty little night clerk. There are no valid excuses for this type of behavior, especially when I was not being rude. Frustrated? Absolutely. In pain? Definitely!! 8 of 10 on that scale. Don't go here. Can't believe this place has 2.5 average? Honestly, this place is pathetic. Can never get in sequence with their automated services; it says it's ordered only to never get a call from them. Then, you call to check on your meds and they'll tell you that the order never went through, it happened several times to me already. What's worse is when you call you wait at least 25min and sometimes they'll hang up in you. What a shame for a brand, completely incompetent and pathetic. read more
