WISH SO HARD I COULD LEAVE A LOWER RATING THAN THIS! I am a patient suffering from life threatening heart conditions walking around with oxygen because of my hypoxic respiratory failure. These DRASTICALLY nonsensical people had the audacity to deny my husband medication that I needed due to STRAIGHT UP PROFILING HIM. Then, when I walked in with my cane and my oxygen in the midst of my sickness with extra paperwork from my doctor as to my need for a particular medication, they persistently gave me no good reason after no good reason why they couldn't supply me with the medication my doctor had requested for me. First, they said they needed a paricular peice of paperwork from my doctor. That was then provided to them. THEN I had my doctor's office call them to clarify what exactly the problem was, as said doctor had used the paperwork that this Walgreens had provided her with in order to resolve the issue and they continued to refuse. THEN they said they would not fill it because the insurance wouldn't cover it. No problem, it's a ten dollar prescription. I'll pay for it.
After hours of going back trying to understand why on God's green earth they were still having any reservations about giving me the meds my doctor had been communicating my need for, I basically was told they just weren't going to do it because they had the right to refuse, and because it was suddenly "Walgreens policy." Why didn't you just say that to begin with then? Now your just stretching for reasons not to do it. Why could she not then be readily able to state to me specifically what policy she is talking about?
Took the prescription to the Safeway next door, they filled it in ten minutes without even needing the paperwork that my doctor had so diligently fulfilled to accomplish this task. SERIOUSLY! These people strung out this process and took all the strength that I could muster for the entire day simply because I sent my husband in first, and I will restate the fact that there was no legitimate excuse that they could ever come up with besides the fact that they didn't like the look of my hubby.
The lead pharmacist here, Mary, must be nothing short of a prejudiced piece of human garbage to do this to a family when we have filled all the same prescriptions here before under similar circumstances. The ONLY difference this time was that my husband was the first one to walk in the door instead of me. And he has walked in here for years with any other person working and never had a problem over the years prior. This pharmacist is just completely incapable of providing any other explanation than the fact that she doesn't wanna do it now because it is suddenly "against Walgreens policy?" I have reviewed the pharmacist manual for this store online now, and have found no such nonsense to be in any way verifiable and haven't run into one of her superiors who could explain to me what exactly in their "policies" she could've even been talkng about.
Well then missy, you just watch how fast the tides turn when YOU get sick like me someday and someone decides that they don't like your attitude and puts your illness to the same test that you put me through today. Karma is cruel that way, honey. read more
