I had the best experience shopping at this Safeway! Their employees are so helpful! I'm from out of town & am a 65 year old woman & move around pretty well. Hope I don't look helpless! But, I was asked twice by employees if I needed help find something. Nice young people, as well as mid-aged. Couldn't find the jam- weird place. I forgot to buy ice after checking out & the bagging (young gentleman) got my ice & helped me to pay for it on self check out. When I went back to my car I told my husband that they were the nicest employees in any grocery store I have ever shopped. That night I was looking for my purse & realized I lost all my cash for our trip here. My husband called Safeway & a very nice man named Dave said a customer found it in the parking lot & turned it in to one of the employees. Oh! What a relief! He said they were worried that I wouldn't come back to get it. Loveland is a wonderful town of really great people!! Thanks to all of you!! I will pass this good deed on to some one who needs it! Being one of the more expensive grocery stores in the area you think they would pay attention to their produce. All of the strawberries were bad but these were the worst, and look like they have just been sitting there forever. I don't usually shop here and won't be back. Definitely not for produce! read more

It's a clean store with staff that are generally friendly. It is a very small Safeway, so you would only want to shop here for necessities and not your big grocery shopping trips. They were almost out of turkeys yet I received a text stating -receive a free turkey when you spend $100. My mom and I filled up our cart and tried to substitute a Safeway Select turkey since they did not have the Honeysuckle White as mentioned in the text. Customer Service told is we could not substitute and to try again another day. We were very upset at this false advertising and decided not to purchase anything from Safeway. Thanks to the very help person,Andrea, (I believe ) at the self check were able to purchase out items and substitute one of the few remaining turkeys. This Safeway is old and tired and the workers are lazy!! For the third time I have walked in at 6:00 pm to pick up chicken for dinner. No hot chicken! Well, one very burnt rotisserie which I was desperate so I took. No wings, no baked chicken, no fried chicken and no rotisserie. The worker said the guy was supposed to make it at lunch and didn't do it...Austin. Really?? Six hours later and you don't have ANY chicken? Yeah...I'm shopping King Soopers from now on! I quit going there after continually being overcharged for items that were on sale. I decided to go back and try again. I went two times in two months and both times I was overcharged. This place should have a class action lawsuit against them. I love shopping this location. In particular I dislike grocery shopping but I feel it is a pleasant and peaceful experience at this location. Staff is friendly, and helpful. The store is kept clean and fresh products have been of better quality latley than in the past. read more

Safeway is sane-way. Their app works, moving through the store works!!! This is my new grocery store! They've made many improvements in recent years and I'm so glad I gave it another try. The food is fresh, stocked throughout in an organized way, and the produce is a treat for the eyes. The atmosphere is calm and not rushed because they no longer have portable product shelves cluttering up the aisles. All of this serves to make my shopping chore pleasant. Several customers can move down aisles without bumping into each other because of floor displays - that is soooo nice. The employees are knowledgeable too - it's easy to know where things are in a clean, tidy store. Parking spaces are not used up in spring and summer by gardening displays. Oh, and the pharmacy is gray too. They haven't outsourced yet like King Soopers and Walgreens, and hope they don't. This Safeway store has turned away from the mania created for customers in the competitors stores. Thank you Safeway for making the choice so clear! read more

we have shopped here for years as we live a block away and we realized almost all the coolers in the store are 10°-15° degrees above where they should be meaning almost all the food in the store that is refrigerated is gaining bacteria. Not safe and should be shut down till the coolers are replaced. read more

This place's disgusting.. I've lived across the street for over five years and it has only gotten worse at this location. Produce, usually all bruised and mold growing EVERYWHERE! It's unbelievably gross, management should get fired. The employees, all of those old ladies are unpleasant and rude. Every guy that works there needs to be talked to about their personal hygiene. Plus, their employees park in all of the front spots instead of towards the back. I guess keeping things convenient for the customers just doesn't matter for them. I can't believe that corporate hasn't done anything to come and clean this store up. Go to kingsoopers instead. Safeway should be embarrassed. read more

While in Loveland yesterday, I decided to go grocery shopping. I was impressed with the store overall. They had a nice variety of items usually found in premium stores, including bulk foods like candies and nuts. I found freshly prepared soups, a nice deli, and quite decent fruits and veggies. Stopped in to get lunch meat. Was told they were closed. Okay I get that. Went to buy packaged lunch meat then... picked up some turkey and saw an expiration date of March 2019!!!! 4 months ago!!! I asked if there was anything fresh in the back and he said "nope what we have is out already".... okay so I asked if he could then slice me fresh meat and he said no.... way poor customer service. If you have 4 month old meat out you at the very least get new meat or cut fresh meat regardless of when it "closed" and as a side note - the guy never went to remove the very very old meat... he just left it there read more

This is the worst Safeway in the world. If you think I'm exaggerating look at my pictures! I try to avoid this place at all cost but sometimes I find my self with no other options so I'll stop in. I frequently find rotten food on the shelves complete with mold growing on produce (see pictures). The older employees are the rudest disgruntled people I have ever met. Also, Homeless people frequent here and I have on numerous occasions been approached by drunks asking for change. Almost all of their shopping carts have been stolen. I once had a cashier yell at me in the store. I walked up to the service counter to look at their condom options. A lady cashier yelled, "Hay no one is working over there right now. You'll have to get in my line." I looked at her and said OK. Then went back to looking at my options only to have her yell again. She yelled extremely loud on a busy day with people everywhere, like a parent would a child, "What's wrong with you? Get in my line!" Seriously, what's wrong with you lady? We were less that 15 feet from each other! They are always short staffed. I always have to wait in a line. I have never seen this place without a now hiring sign somewhere in the store. Ever so often a nice looking happy person will start working here and within weeks they quit or look exhausted. I have a friend who works at the other Safeway in town and he tells me no one likes to go there and work. The worst person at this store is a cashier named Owen (see pictures). This guy is the rudest most disgruntled of them all. He has been rude to my wife, friends and me. He is always dirty, smelly and has his underwear hanging out (see pictures). My pictures are just a few but I swear this is how this place always is. I imagine once Sprouts opens this place will shutdown. On top of all their personnel problems and rotten produce they have a limited variety and virtually nothing organic. read more

Just went in to pick up some groceries for the week. The selection was poor, some of the shelves looked ransacked and others were overflowing and disorganized like a box was just dumped on the shelve. Visited the butcher to have them cut me a fresh steak so I could make beef tartar. Unfortunately, the butcher and assistant had attitude. They were unwilling to cut a fresh steak. They then directed me to a cooler of steaks cut the day before. King scoopers will cut it fresh and without the attitude. Which is exactly what you need if your eating raw meat. Overall, the meat department staff was rude and was bothered by a request to cut a steak so I said forget it. After this, I went to the deli and waited for service. Two people were behind the deli counter not paying attention to anyone walking up. After a younger gentleman finally looked up, he helped someone that arrived at the counter after me. It was at that point I said forget it, left the full kart in the store and walked out. I have told myself this place was bad in the past but this trip confirmed it. I won't be back. I highly recommend you go elsewhere for groceries and if you like decent service. read more

The quality of customer service has been drastically reduced at this store in the last 6 months. The night shift, (I don't even bother going during the day- they are just beyond rude), has one too-young-assistant manager who thinks it's real funny to assert his authority over the PA (telling his coworkers what they did wrong) thereby making for a horribly uncomfortable atmosphere. The night manager should probably get a job at the DMV, he moves about that fast. Apparently a customer's time isn't of concern. Furthermore, they've got product on the shelves that "isn't in their system". I ask you, how did they verify a received shipment if the product isn't in their system? No matter, they'll just walk up and yank it out of your hands at the self-checkout and make you wait an inordinate amount of time to fix the problem. I don't know where they got this crew, but custmer service is NOT a priority, products being actually able to be bought (ie. in their system) isn't a priority, either. This review is actually related to the store at 1451 W Eisenhower (Yelp doesn't list this one), but it stands for all Safeways because they use the same coupon system. I've visited this Safeway almost daily due to the convenience of the location for over a year now. That ends today. Their digital coupon system rarely works correctly, and if you don't have your phone on you to scan the digital coupon you have to ask the cashier to enter it for you. Some of them act like you're a criminal asking for a pardon! One lady just huffed and puffed at me like I was such an inconvenience. Today I did have my phone, scanned the coupon, it didn't work when I checked out so I was overcharged, told the cashier, she said go to customer service and wait, which I did for about 10 minutes, lady came and kid you not she said to me "well I can't give you a discount without proof" because she couldn't find it in the paper. Well, since this isn't my first rodeo with them I had taken a picture of the coupon, another annoying thing I have to do every time. Tried to show it to her but my phone died! So, she made me take her all the way to the aisle to show her the @#$%^$ coupon, that was literally only for a $1 off. I would normally just leave and not be bothered by a coupon worth $1 but it happens every single time I go in. I'm done. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

This is by far the best Safeway in town. Avoid the Safeway on Cleveland and just come here!! Since there is not an option to post for the one on Cleveland (being that it's the same chain), here is my review for there - they would get a one star from me: Always check your dates on everything you purchase from here. I bought a salad dressing two weeks ago, got home and realized it had expired in April. My boyfriend bought some chicken on July 14 or 15 that had expired on July 11. We are constantly seeing cut fruits that are past their expiration dates, too. The store never answers their phone and corporate doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. This has been an ongoing problem since November. We are usually good about checking dates, but have forgotten to a couple times. The other Safeways on Eisenhower don't have this problem - I would recommend either one of them over the one on Cleveland. read more

Should be zero stars in all honesty. Their pick up and go has failed miserably the last week three times we've ordered from there. Rotten salmon, rotten chicken and expired lettuce to name a few. While I understand this is new for this store, it's not new for the chain as the other stores in Loveland offer curbside p/u. That being said the misses that happened on my order were to many to not say something. -Food to be picked up @1, never contacted, so I called and was told 2:30. Then I called to be sure and told, no, arrive at 3. At 3 when I called into the store from the parking lot, I was told, "be out in a couple minutes." 45 minutes later she came out, and asked me if it looked like my order. In bags, that I can't see in. I looked thru quickly and noticed 2 items missing. When asked she replied they were across the store and she didn't know what flavor, so she didn't get them. Then getting home I find one other item missing, I call, she says said "I thought that was there, huh." I asked it be removed form my bill to which she said, it won't be today, but tomorrow. Thats fine, but as of now, 3 days later, it's still not off. And what got me writing this, when I went to open the yogurt I purchased, I found it to be the wrong flavors... As I said, I get its new to this store, but the other stores do this really well. I don't blame her, she is under staffed and trying to keep up with a large caseload, they need to hire more to help with this process which will only get busier as long as Covid is here. I had a extremely disappointing experience here on 3/19/2019. I bought a full load of groceries and when the checker went to check out a 6 pack of beer he asked for my ID (no problem). Since I recently moved to Colorado, I handed him my VALID DMV ISSUED temporary paper license photo ID that I had already used several times for official purposes including buying liquor/alcohol (I had just bought wine here with this paper ID LAST WEEK). The plastic version was still in the mail from the state and I had been assured by the state of Colorado that the paper version qualifies as a substitute for any official need that I would have for up to 30 days. The store refused to accept it. I even talked to the manager, Cathy (who by the way was quite condescending and rude) and they still refused to accept it. I had my old, out of state ID ready to show them as a backup but the refusal continued. I'm really upset at the attitude I was given and will not be shopping at Safeway again for the foreseeable future. :( BEWARE ANYONE WHO HAS A TEMP, GOVT ISSUED ID- they will refuse you service! read more

I disagree that there is bad service. The employees are very nice and helpful. I would say management needs to do a better job on opening up lanes, but they were concerned that we were finding everything okay and did not ignore us. Not a bad grocery store located fairly close to my house. The store is clean organized and has a friendly staff however if you are after organics or grassfed meats you should try the King Supers over on Eagle Dr. or make the trek to Wholefoods Market in Fort Collins. read more

Not only do they not know what wax is and that it's used for canning, they don't even know where their canning supplies are or are they willing to call someone and ask for help.
