Ordered Tres Leches and specifically asked for extra milk to be wet but it was extremely dry. I think they totally forgot to add condensed milk. It was the worst tres leches cake I've ever had. Very disappointed. Also the pickup time was at 1 but they were 1 hour and 30 min late. My husband almost missed the entire event!! They did give 15$ discount. But I'd rather pay $100 more to get a perfect wet Tres Leches on time!! Please please hire a Baker with credentials. read more

It has gone downhill since it opened. I base this on the fried chicken I always come to get. It used to be 2 each: legs, wings, thigh, breast. I go there around lunch time and they either have nothing ready or just a few pieces. But more often than not they never have breast pieces. So disappointed with never getting the 8 piece assorted. I go to Safeway Martinez from now on. It's worth the drive and this Safeway cares. read more

Safeway as a whole is fine it's the Deli department that's horrible. I was in line and it was packed when the a woman up front decided now was the best time to take a break. The woman in front of me had been waiting here for an entire hour before she actually got to the front. This should have not been allowed or gone on for as long as it did. I'm extremely dissatisfied and hope for something better next time if I even come here again. read more

The Indian guy work at the self check out and liquor Register is extreme rude , he used to be very friendly, he gave me a feeling like he doesn't want people shop here, hope the manager see this! read more

Poor produce. Confusing layout. Nothing special as far as big box grocery stores go. I'll stick to TJ's and Sprouts.

We had high hopes for this new Safeway as the one by our house in Pinole is really small and dated. Unfortunately this new store is a nightmare as a shopper. I am not sure what the thinking was in having the alcohol in its own section with seperate checkout. You can either shop for alcohol first and wait in a long line to check out to then do the rest of your shopping only to wait in another long line checking out for a second time. Or shop for your groceries first, then get you alcohol second so you can check out just once. This results in really long lines in the alcohol section that wasn't designed for that and you get to have everyone else with a six pack of beer scowl at you for making them wait while you checkout with a full cart. Add to that the completely incoherent layout of the food in the store which feels like they are purposely confusing you at to where things are so you crisscross the store a dozen times trying to find things in the hope of extra sales. It is all bad across the board. This Safeway is really trying to make me want to shop at Luckys and they succeded. read more

The service at the deli is seriously a bust. It takes way too long to get served a sandwich or something from the hot food stand. Not to mention the staff seems annoyed or doqnright rude. The design of the parking lot is also seriously questionable. read more

They deleted my review but I have no problem putting it back up , I worked with them about a year ago when the store was fresh. I loved my crew and the experience I had working there. The management overall was the worst , I never had proper training I was put out there with one day of me shadowing. When I asked for help or had simple questions they made me feel like a burden. Now as a customer I've went back and still dislike the management they let racist behavior happen within workers & they are never understanding with any issues you may have. Both managers Karl & Tracy made me feel a burden for working there & with no training given . Overall I'm just grateful for the coworkers I met that helped me out with the little help management provided for me . read more

Great store with great deli and excellent customer service. Very clean and organized store.

I was treated like a criminal. While shopping for beer I was confronted by a security guard. There is a cordoned off alcohol area and you can't leave the area without paying at a tiny register for everything you have in your cart. Totally ridiculous and offensive. Also it is absolutely impractical. How can I buy a lot of groceries AND beer at the same time? It's not possible! Add to that a poorly laid out and cramped parking lot , and I'm done. Raley's is WAY better. And for meat , go to SPROUTS market nearby. Avoid this stupid place!! read more

I usually go to Safeway to get snacks and I liked it because it was close until my car was taken in to get an oil change. So my one form of transportation other than walking was roller skating. I had to get some stomach medicine for my sick 76 year old mother. So I skated in because I am a skilled skater and a security officer yelled and embarrassed me in front of the other customers. He told me that it would be my fault a that I got hurt in there if I fell. It was said in a rude tone. If I could give this bad excuse of a grocery store negative stars I would. read more

I dropped by the meat department a couple weeks back and ordered a couple choice picanhas for a party. The guy I spoke with knew what he was talking about, was very helpful, and when I picked them up, they were perfect which is why I went back to get a couple choice ribeyes, today. I was looking at some fish while the person wrapped the ribeyes. I should have known something was off as the package I was handed was not nearly as thick as the steaks looked in the meat counter. I then ordered some sturgeon and went on my way. After I arrived at home, I noticed that the label on the ribeyes showed prime and not choice like I had ordered. When I looked at the steaks, there was almost no marbling at all; not even close to what a choice steak should look like. I was super disappointed and felt taken advantage of. I would have rated one star but I'm giving it two due to the first guy I spoke with. read more

The store was amazing with everything organised and nice employees. But the line me and my sister got in this one employee named Melissa who scanned our groceries was not communicating with us at all.She was conversating with the girl who was bagging the groceries and when we tried to tell her we also had waters she kept talking to the girl.No eye contact with us or anything. She was talking about some vacation and we said we had waters three times the fourth time we raised our voice and she finally heard us.Then she rolled her eyes and scanned the waters read more

if I could have gave them a negative one I would have listen I get if you vaccinated you not going to were you mask but I feel like if your handling food you should wear a mask and gloves this man cutting meat sweating and it was dripping on the meat I went to tell the store manger and told him he went back there but I guess he was okay with the butchers sweat on the meat I guess it gives the meat a little salt ‍‍ because he was still cutting with sweat dripping on his face not a good look for a store that just barley open read more

Wonderful place to shop..!!! Deli, Sushi, produce section is my go to spot..hands down..area is always stocked at the right times.. my experience with employees have always been great! I Appreciate the store . read more

I love the store and the employees, including the checkers, have all been professional and polite. My only complaint is about aisle 3, The Cubicle '. To buy shampoo, pain relievers, or wine you have to check out in that area, then complete your shopping and check out in the main area for all your other groceries. I will shop for shampoo, pain relievers and wine at another store, I do not have time to stand in two lines and check out twice. read more

Beautiful store but BEWARE. Not once but twice over two weeks their advertised prices were lower but not nearly as low as in the weekly flyer. The difference was $2-3/pound for two of the items in the meat department. read more

I usually come to this Starbucks inside this Safeway on my lunch, the employees are always so sweet but I recently went in an had a very bad experience with an employee named "LaLa". Not only was she rude to me but also to my coworker and another lady ordering. I walked up to the counter to order and instantly she rolled her eyes and in a extremely rude tone ask "what do you want?".... I was ordering my drink and she completely cut me off to talk to her coworker about something not related to work I tried again to tell her my order but she kept talking over me about my drink or saying she "couldn't hear me". I also asked if they had a specific sandwich because sometimes it's in the show case but they are sold out so when I asked she reply with an attitude tone "umm well do you see it in there" I responded "yes" and she rolled her eyes then said "if you see it there then that means we have it so do you want the sandwich or not" and responded with yes please and she asked again which sandwich I wanted to see if they even have it (which was the reason I asked in the first place...) . This girl was beyond rude... if I had an option to do negative stars I would. read more

Went in there today 7/1/21 around 5 pm and the cashier I had was very nice he seemed new he was very respectful an older gentleman although he rung up my watermelon for some white peaches cause the watermelon had the peach sticker on it, and gave me the receipt and told me to go to guest services they would fix it. I was greeted by a young girl at guest services whom once I told the situation she agreed and understood and made it seem like an easy fix although some other lady an older lady came and did my refund she seemed like she was confused with the peaches or watermelon I'm not sure but the young girl offered to help her and she yelled at the poor girl right infront of me she looked like she was going to cry she just walked away I felt so bad for the girl so like 5-10 mins later when she finishes my refund after walking back and forth from the produce dept I leave and I see the poor girl walking back and she was visibly upset and looked like she had been crying and I just told her I was very sorry about that and to have a good day. I think you guys need better customer service and this isn't the first time I have dealt with this older lady at customer service she is about 5'8 tall white but this is the most worse experience ever even her partner in the customer service place looked at her a certain way I don't know if this lady was the manager or what she was but if that is what she is doing making workers cry for trying to help her out she needs to be terminated immediately that was very wrong and out of place for her position I'm a general manager at a store in San Francisco and never have I ever seen this I didn't get to read any names but I really hope that the girl felt better after work and as for the older lady in the customer service she needs an attitude check if she doesn't want to work she shouldn't show up to work with an attitude that bad!! As for my watermelon it was really delicious this place has such a huge produce section full of so many things it's amazing and I've never had any problems in any other department as for the deli they're always busy could use some more people! Overall three stars a very good store very nice cashiers and very clean as well. read more

Went to this store to buy some ice cream. I went to check out and they only had one checker, self-checkout was closed and the little store within the store had people waiting to check out. Both lines went almost to the back of the store. By the time I got to the cashier my ice cream was melting. The cashier didn't even look at me, she just said, "Do you want a bag?" I said yes. She never said anything or looked at me after that. They never have stock on the most common items. They run out and it takes weeks to get a new shipment. The self-checkout when its open is never supervised so if you have a problem there is nobody to help you. Went in there two weeks in a row. No chicken wings anywhere. The Pinole Lucky I hate but they are much better than this place. And Raily's is much better. The staff is rude. I asked the butcher for five pounds of wings. They huffed and said there was chicken wings over in the cooler. I went over to the cooler but no chicken wings. Lost my place in line. By the time I got waited on again, the wings were gone. I asked if they had anymore, and he said, I don't think so without even looking. Nice looking store. Poor selection. Rude employees. Why bother! I will shop elsewhere from now on. If I do go back, I will for sure get pictures of the lines. read more

I'm an older male I shop here once a week and I was in shock of what I saw on Saturday night , a group of employees around 11:30 pm was smoking and laughing and it smelt really bad like it's weed .. this store is new and I don't know about the equity of the workers that work here but I didn't call in on Sunday and no one answered my call to complain. They should drug test every especially the night people or even the managers that seem to be out of sight on their employees. It's sad to see a new busy place and no supervision at all . I guess I'll be going to Pinole even though it's a small store I need my health and this place isn't healthy . I over heard 2 employees talking about a morning cashier that has it in stock . I strongly suggest this place drug test everyone that works there .. this isn't be a problem from the cashiers to the night people . Sadly I really enjoyed shopping now this new store but wow what a disappointment that was .. read more

The 1 star is for the deli department. They show no sense of urgency, even when they see so many people waiting in line. The woman making sandwiches was so slow and the lady that came to help her wasn't any better. We asked for 4 sandwiches and spent 15+ minutes watching her make the sandwiches at the slowest pace ever. We asked for no ranch and the first thing she did was add ranch. We didn't know how big the sandwiches were supposed to be so she divided the French bread into 3 pieces but we saw the woman next to her cut the French bread in half for a different customer. We paid $6.99 for each small sandwich where the customer next to us got a bigger sandwich for the same price! The guy handling the hot food wasn't any better. He was so rough with the potato wedges that he broke all of them into pieces when bagging them for us. Please get it together Safeway. Otherwise the store is beautiful. read more
