The girl working the deli was clueless as can be. I ordered various items and if I said a pound she would give me two. Then she didn't charge me hardly anything for the chicken...which was good since it was all raw. The manager couldn't be bothered to come down and talk to me. I got a refund and got hella sick from food poisoning. This Safeway has issues...management doesn't know or care what's going on and the employees know it. There is nothing worse than having to deal with people that hate their job and just don't care about food safety. The health department should make a stop by this location...unannounced and see what's doin. read more

I have to say this Safeway is poorly run. You have to check dates on everything. They don't remove outdated items from shelves. Now that they closed one entrance that leaves only 2 handicap spots close to the entrance. The 3 logical spaces that should be added near the entrance are the online pickup spaces. I sent a comment on the Safeway website and never heard back. They don't care. I wonder if the ADA can get involved. I drive the extra miles to another Safeway that is much better. read more

This rating is for the sushi. I usually go get their $5 sushi Friday and then saw that they make platters. I ordered one for Father's Day and talked to Win and he is amazing. I ordered it 24 hours in advance and it looked and tasted amazing. Highly recommend ordering sushi from him. It's also reasonably priced. read more

She helped me regarding a price discrepancy - an associate reluctantly did a price check but didn't remove the expired sale sign from the item which would prevent other customers from expecting the same sale price. Jason store floor manager was absolutely rude and unfortunately no manners as far as how he talk to me. Definitely needs a few courses of how to treat customers. He just blew up on me for complaining about some ham that went bad within five days. He walk away and after I said I was going to call and send video yo corporate office he came back within seconds and said I don't have to help you.... gave me a store credit and said here you can go now. Well I will start the review by saying disappointing. I have visited the deli numerous times at this location. I haven't visited in months as the last item I bought wasn't to my satisfaction. Today I was in the area on my lunch break and needed one item from the store. I decided that since I was here and on a limited time schedule, I would purchase a sandwich. This is when things got a little weird. First, I was standing at the counter and was surprised that no one was there besides me. When an employee appeared from the back another lady walked up on the opposite side. The employee did ask who was first but before I could answer the lady said she was. Since people are a little "on edge" lately I decided to just let her go before me. Once her transaction was completed the employee then came my direction. I was going to try something new - an Italian sandwich that I saw in my Safeway weekly deals. When I asked the ingredients, the employee pointed to the sign. It was a little rude but okay. I apologized as I didn't see it when I first looked up. I then decided based on ingredients that I would order a turkey sandwich instead. She started to prepare the sandwich and asked what I would like. Since I was directed to look at the sign menu I was reading items from there. I wanted mayo and brown mustard. She put the mayo on the sandwich and then looked around for the brown mustard and then told me after looking for it, they didn't offer it anymore. I found that odd but okay, I told her a little yellow mustard. Then I told her I wanted garlic spread or oil. She then squirted chiptole ranch on the bread. I asked her was that the garlic spread and she said oh this is something a little spicy. I then repeated I requested garlic. She then told me they didn't offer it anymore. I then pointed to the sign/menu and said but both items are showing up there. She then told me that it was discontinued a few weeks ago. We pretty much then had a stare off for a few seconds as I was confused. This is a large corporation and they didn't bother to update the sign? During this stare off I just decided to say, her never mind as sandwiches are $6.99, and apparently I was going to have this "freshly made sandwich" (which is on the sign) made her way and not mine. This is usually my go to Safeway but today's visit was the first time actually needing some assistance. Today's visit made all other just go down the drain, I would rather drive to Cordelia for actual help. I went to order a cake from the bakery and unfortunately they had ran out of the unicorn cake kit. I asked if any other Safeway store would possibly have it and instead of offering service she just said "I'm not sure, I do know Dixon is out because they had borrowed one from us a couple days ago". Not much help at all... I had to call the the Cordelia store myself and then drive to the other store to place my cake order...before leaving i purchased the items i needed for my daughters special day with a not so happy cashier clerk. Although their food selection is good, the shopping experience is depressing. Some aisles are completely locked up behind glass. The entrance and exits have barriers and gates so if you leave empty handed you must pass through the self checkout. You get the impression in there that they assume you'll shoplift and that you're not appreciated as a customer. And with their prices, they should appreciate their customers. The location is super convenient, but I wish shoppers were treated like guests instead of inmates. read more

This is a Safeway, not a Wholefoods, so reviews should look at it from that perspective. That being said, as a grocery store, it is convenient, has what you need, at good prices, and is rarely crowded. What I really want to praise is the pharmacy and the pharmacy supervisor. While I have had my friction at any pharmacy, even this one...due to our bureaucratic health system usually... the pharmacy supervisor, a younger Asian woman, went far above and beyond to help my family out with a difficult prescription. read more

Here big problem I have about this whole thing and this been going on way before corona and I don't care which store you go to it the same problem, they have 8 registers but only 2 are open you go and stand in line they have people standing and waiting in each line that stretches all the way back to end of store, as you standing there you have other customers squeezing by trying get merchandise off shelf's, now explain to me how's is this all safe. Very clean Safeway with wide isle to walk in. I like how they display thing like the valentine loney homeless bear on a bike. Bathroom is located at the back of the store bad not in the front. I agree with EVERYONE else's reviews. The lines have gotten out of control at this store. I usually shop on Mondays after work and there's only 2 cashiers; one of them being the express lane. I was there earlier today and it was the same situation. Two customers ahead of me a lady was complaining and the cashier and bagger we're agreeing with her. The cutbacks on staff being ridiculous and how just 2 additional people could make a difference. Agreed! But now there's more to add. I love the $5 deals in the produce section on Mondays. Some of the items are still fresh. But when you have bell peppers, romain hearts and avocados spiking away and very little bananas....and boxes of fresh produce laying around with no one in sight re-stocking. THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITG THIS PICTURE! I even saw the green bell peppers in the box. I was so close to opening the box and grabbing what I needed. What a pain. I hope to see a change here soon. The employees who rang me up and bagged my purchase we're very pleasant though! LOL. That's about it. One star for each of them. PS....oh I forgot....the soups aren't even labeled! read more

Review for bakery - I ordered two tiramisu cakes for my wedding. I was to pick them up at 10AM the day of the wedding. At 10AM the day of my wedding, the bakery called and said that the woman that took my order made a mistake and they didn't have anymore tiramisu. Anyone who has planned a wedding knows this is a nightmare when you have so much you have to do the day of your wedding. I had to scramble and luckily found tiramisu at Raley's. I would hate for this to happen to someone else for their wedding or child's birthday, etc. We were trying to be frugal with our wedding and that's why we decided to go with Safeway. Absolute worst customer service. Cashier & bagger were both unfriendly, rude, & gossiping the entire time they helped us. The cashier at one point clearly got upset about me putting my zucchini & squash in the same bag because she said with a deep sigh "I can't do this." Also, when I got home, come to find out two items I purchased were not there. This used to me the closest grocery store to home, and my favorite one to shop at. My how things can change in a couple of years. The staff is still friendly, but the so many things about this Safeway have started to go down hill. The place seems messier than it should be, and they stopped carrying a lot of the products in the meat section. They offer them at other Safeway's (like the one in Vacaville) but not here. It also seems that the once competitive prices have gotten increasingly higher since it was purchased by Savemart's parent company. So much so that I frequently get better deals at Raleys. The cashier lines are horrendous (worse than Walmart, even), and It's just an unpleasant experience to shop there. It didn't used to be, and that makes this Safeway loyalist very sad. We've have come back here pretty frequently, mostly due to being close by to our home. The deli/hot food section staff have continued to ignore us when we have tried to buy from their sections. This has unfortunately occurred about 5 more times. The rest of thee store is pretty much the same experience as before. This is probably the dirtiest safeway i have been to. I was on a road trip- had to use the rest room and get a few drinks. Went to the restroom- there was pee and poop on the walls and all over the floor. it smelt disgusting and i almost threw up. Seems like it has never been cleaned. read more

Pretty sad experience here. Bathrooms smelled like old fish (they're located by the meat department) and the store in general had a disheveled appearance. Things weren't as clean down the aisles and graffitti was etched into some of the displays. It wasn't up to the usual Safeway cleanly and organized standards. Sadly, I won't return here. read more

I've been coming here for 14 years! The staff are very friendly, the lines sometimes are long. I wish they had self check out, but I have heard over the years people stealing so maybe that's why they don't have a self check out. This review is about my visit on January 31st, 2014. I frequently go to this location with my grandmother who is a regular visitor. Over the years she has made many friends with the staff. This has helped her to feel safe and comfortable when she shops. This visit however was the first time where encountered troubling problems with the customer service. It wasn't until we hit the back end of the yogurt aisle did we experience inexcusable rudeness by the employees. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're going to gossip/complain about other employees or management shouldn't you do that on your break or off the clock? These 5 employees with their main ring leader (a mid-40's woman with short hair and arm tattoos) decided that time was of the essence and decided to do it in the store, completely blocking the back end of the yogurt aisle. My grandma needed to pick up some cottage cheese and thinking that the employees would disperse when she made it evident she was going down the aisle, was shocked when none of them moved. The employees just stood around and didn't move. They looked at both of us and didn't budge. They were completely blocking the aisle. Finally my grandma said loudly, "PLEASE. MOVE." All we got was one employee who moved a few inches to the right and we barely got through. When we left the yogurt aisle (the same way we came in) none of them got out of the way. It as just rude. When we were going into the checkout line we noticed that there was only one checker available. I get it, it's 7 in the morning on a Friday there might not be a lot of people in a Safeway, but soon it backed up to over 12 people. The checker kept calling for somebody to help her out, but nobody came for 15 minutes. I guess they were too busy gossiping. Finally someone came and we got out of there in a good 10 minutes. Our checker however was warm, friendly and very apologetic. She made us feel like we were being taken care of and that we had friends at Safeway. She really was able to turn the negatives into positives. Same goes for the bagger. He was quick and attentive. Best part about this dynamic duo? They did their job and they did it while being personable, friendly and considerate. read more

My mother and I came to store this afternoon to pick up lunch and some food for a funeral service today. My mom requested a large tray of chicken wings, small tray of potato wedges and a small tray of chicken tenders. Service was fine, we just waited about 5-10 mins for them to cook everything so it would be hot and fresh at the service. We presented the food to everyone at the device and they all stood in line and made a plate. Minutes later, one of the relatives came up to me and tells me that the chicken tenders are completely raw in the middle. I was surprised because it looked fully done. I went to the tray than inspected a few others, they were all not cooked. I took the tray off the table and told everyone that is was uncooked and if anyone had it on their plates to please not eat it and throw it away. At this point I knew I was going back to Safeway to talk to them. I went to the same area I had purchased our food from and they told me I needed to take it out with customer service. I walked over to customer service and there were two people ahead of me. The lady at the register asked if I had a return and I said yes, she said to please go to the cash register line for my return. I waited and the lady took my receipt, scanned the tray and gave me my refund. I looked at her and said "if you were wondering why I'm returning this tray of chicken tenders it's because they are raw" she looked at me and said "ok" without sympathy, questions or concerns. I didn't even get a "Sorry about that" I rated Safeway one star because it's a grocery store and they do have what you need. However, their customer service is not good. I was totally embarrassed that I brought raw chicken tenders to a funeral service and having to go back and return everything was a waste of time. No one took responsibility. read more

Safeway as a store is a fine store... I do about 70-80% of my grocery shopping at various Safeways. However, this particular store is very frustrating with their line situation. They lack the self checkout and a decent number of cashiers on shift, which causes extremely long lines at nearly all hours of the day. 9 out of every 10 visits (or maybe more realistically 19 out of every 20) I'm waiting at least 10+ minutes in line (feels like 15-20mins). They are extremely slow at getting backup cashier support, which usually doesn't even happen because there are no other cashiers to help. I have had particularly bad luck here when I need 1-2 things late night usually around 11pm-1am. EVERY SINGLE TIME I get to the checkout with my one pint of ice cream and WTF!!! There are 8 people in line, backed up into an isle, waiting for the one cashier. I always debate between walking out with or without my item, and giving the person in front of me a $5 and telling them to keep the change... But being a law abiding citizen I debate this for 10-15 minutes while my ice cream melts and I'm finally next to be rang up. Ugn AVOID this location LATE NIGHT. On my latest visit I witnessed a young man shoplift an arm full of various groceries and at the time I looked down on him for it. But after reflecting on all the time I spend in line here I completely understand why he did it... (assuming it wasn't for a lack of cash) Bottom line: If you don't mind waiting at least 10 minutes to check out, this is the Safeway for you. read more

I can't help but laugh at all the reviews complaining about the lines. Lines are everywhere especially at grocery stores.. fact of life plain and simple. My only complaint for this store is the parking lot. It's aisleways are too narrow and it's always packed (hence the lines inside)!!! Overall typical Safeway! read more
