The slowest service on record in the pharmacy. They are hopelessly understaffed and make no effort to get to the customers in the long lines waiting. I only continue there because it is two blocks from the house. read more

The Safeway Deli in Auburn has to be commended for having the worse Grilled Cheese Sandwich of all time. Not only is it overpriced, but the sandwich itself is the worse combination of 4 cheeses. read more

Been living in Auburn for a while and it seems I will never learn. Never come here if you want to checkout in a reasonable time. They are soon cheep to pay for more than 2 cashiers, even during peak hours. Expect to spend over 30 minutes in the check out line. Even the self check out! read more

This store is in an easily-accesible location, off Auburn Way S. and with a protected left turn at a light to 1st. It has a gas station with prices that are consistently a few cents lower than neighboring stations. They have an on-site bakery that is pretty good, a deli, and meat cutters that do a good job. Also a variety of seafood, although most of that is on ice. Their selection of organic vegetables is small but has been growing (no pun intended) of late. The staff has always been helpful and friendly to me (I have been shopping here for 8 years). Not the worst place you could choose to shop. read more

Not my ideal Safeway the employees are alright, my issue are the kinds of people who loiter outside and they are creepy. I was coming out of the Safeway yesterday around 4:30PM a guy who was probably homeless was puffing away on a cigarette I could smell the horrible smoke & made a WIDE BERTH around him as I was leaving guess he is too obtuse to know the 25 feet rule & NOT smoke right outside the door. Then theres a motley group of teens hanging right outside the door just loitering. It's funny as my cab passed this bunch one of them actually had the nerve to turn around to give me a dirty look? I'm a grown woman so I found this to be a bit obnoxious! Can't wait for my lease to be up so I can move out of Auburn. One of the teens prior to this wonderful incident was riding around on the carts reserved for the disabled. I think that I'll do my shopping elsewhere in Auburn . I have some other issues with a ill mannered guy belching right next to me, and for some reason THIS PARTICULAR store sure attracts some unsavory types. Not for me. I'll go further out . I sure don't need any of this. read more

Service was poor. Employees standing in the way of the dairy fridge talking or rather complaining about another employee. Checking out I dropped a bag next ton2 employees feet neither attempted to help. Only one person even made contact. So sad. I would have thought more for 10 am on a sat. read more

Besides the insane amount of homeless people hanging out in front asking for money this Safeway's produce is horrible. Every time I buy potatoes they are green...hard and green. At first I thought oh well just got a bad bag..nope it's every time. I have never been disappointed in a Safeway but this one takes the cake. read more

I stopped at the Auburn Safeway tonight to pick up some Chinese food because I was tired. I was served by a lady named Bev who was so kind , so friendly and so sweet it made my whole evening! I'm so happy I stopped in even though I was worn out ,she was the friendliest of everyone there and I so appreciated it! God bless her! read more

I needed to use the restroom while I was shopping at this Safeway. The bathroom was so dirty that you could smell it before you entered the hallway that the bathroom was located in. The floors and walls were filthy, the sinks looked like they had not been cleaned in a week. I will never shop in this store again. If one area of the store that the public is allowed in is this dirty, how can you trust that food prep areas are any better. The manager should be fired. read more

This place has grown into more then a grocery store! I shopped here years ago before moving and now I am back I find it has evolved into a store plus for a busy guy like me. The pharmacy staff asked me if they could take care of my prescription transfer and all they needed was the phone # of my old place and my insurance card! I have some health issues and a long list of maintenance drugs to take. They also worked with my Dr. and insurance company to make some changes to other brands and options and are saving me almost $90.00 a month! The Meat dept. has an awesome selection and the in store restaurant, coffee shop and bank are handy. (I would have given them 5 stars if I did not hate shopping so much) read more

Today I had the worst experience at this store today 3/21/19. I shop at this store approximately 3-5 days a week and NEVER have I been treated so rudely as today. On 3/19/19 I did a grocery shopping day and the bill was $65.00 I thought it was rather expensive but I purchased a bouquet of flowers and a card since it was my daughters birthday. Yesterday I checked the receipt and I was dbl. charged for some ribs I got for dinner. I waited for today to go get my $5.50 back. I stood in line at customer service(after shopping) for 30 mins. the VERY UNHAPPY person behind the counter had to make and print out a check WITHOUT even letting anyone know that it would be a 10 minute process. When she came out of the room she had a very angry look on her face and wanted to argue w/me and when I tried to explain to her she said I was rude to her. In the process there were a group of special needs persons waiting behind me as well as many many other people, one of them SCREACHED so loudly that I almost fell to my knees it sounded like someone may have just got murdered. So then some other guy came in to take over (i'm sure he came flying over cause of the SCREAM) and the person told him to take over and he did not read the receipt either (it was very clear I was twice charged) well of course he now has to get the manager, Tim, well ten minutes later I get my cash back. Tim offered a gift card, well no way, I paid cash and I am getting cash back!!! What a nightmare. So I WILL NOT return to the store. I'M DONE!!! They need to change what is going on in that store. Shopped this Safeway for years. When I realized that I was always heading to Fred Meyers to pick up things I couldn't find, and then found Meyers meats and bakery better, it stopped making sense to shop Safeway at all. One exception: Safeway's deli meats are superior. read more

I hate writing a negative review for this store but the one star is for their bakery. My complaint is for this new weird policy they have of not being willing to bake a chocolate cake with white frosting unless it's special ordered. Special Ordered. I really didn't know baking a chocolate cake was such an unusual thing for a bakery. I was just trying to get a co worker's favorite type of B'day cake without buying a massive sheet cake. Not a huge world problem but WTH Safeway. I've been shopping at this location since they opened and this new policy is stupid. Sometimes you just don't want white cake, lol. read more

Where do I start! After being hit up for money by the homeless people cruising the parking lot and even at the front door. Then when you go to check out there MIGHT be 2 registers open with 4 or 5 customers in line at each one. You'd think they would bring more cashiers up but that never seems to happen. The pharmacy......FORGET IT!!! I've seen as many as 15 people waiting in line to pick up prescriptions and only ONE cashier! Last time I was there, there were 8 people in line. I went up to the counter and politely asked the pharmacist in charge if they could bring someone else up to help out, his responce, and I quote, "we're busy, I can't help you" That was the final straw that broke my back! I've since switched all my prescriptions to another local pharmacy that even has a drive up window! I'm doing all my grocery shopping at Winco in Sumner and I'm very happy with them. Prices are WAY better and I think their house brands are much better quality and cheaper then Safeway's. Yes, you do have to bag your own groceries but I dont see that as a big problem. Plus. if there's more then two people in line they will bring more cashiers forward to help out. Hooray! So, GOOD BY SAFEWAY!! read more

For sure the best large grocery store in Auburn, being here since the 1930's probably the oldest around. Great Staff, cheap sales all the time, clean and very nice modern store located downtown-ish so it's easy to access. Nice deli, Starbucks, not alot of those old crazy people that use to rummage around downtown, I like it! read more

I have always gone to Safeways and been satisfied with my experiences. I can't say that for this location. The cashiers are just lazy. Half the time they don't greet me when it is my turn. But what really irritates me is that unless there is a courtesy clerk bagging your groceries they leave it to you to put the bags in the cart. Even as I am waiting for my transaction to go through, the cashier, Tiffany, just turns around and starts chit chatting to the cashier next to her ,who by the way, had no one in her line to help. You'd think either one of them could have helped with the bags. If I have to do their job for them I will just go to Winco where the price justifies this lack of service. read more
