One word: Incompetent. Hours before sending my seat belt off, I spoke to a customer service representative who I explained my seat belt issue. After listening to my issue (seat belt pre-tensioner failure), the rep. mentioned that my seat belt could be repaired and should take no longer than two weeks to do so. Hours after the conversation, I packed up the seat belt and sent it off (via FedEx). Shortly before the two weeks were up, I called the company to inquire about my seat belt, but was told that they were still looking for it. During that same conversation, I rebutted to the rep. that the seat belt did arrive at the business because someone from their company signed for the belt (according to FedEx signature confirmation). She confirmed that the person who signed for it was an employee, but informed me that they were still looking for my seat belt (again) and couldn't provide me with an update. For months, I called each week and was told that they were still looking for my seat belt. Eventually, my issue would be escalated to Dave, a manager. Dave called me, apologized, and promised to send me out another seat belt. After giving him my VIN number (to confirm the color of my seat belt), he sent a seat belt out to me. Unfortunately, it was the wrong color. I attempted to call Dave a couple of times, but got no answer. After having to deal with their incompetence, I just went to a junkyard and took one out of a car (this solved my issue). Moving forward, I wouldn't dare use, take a call, or read any advertisements from this company. Beware! read more

I sent them my seat belts via UPS overnight only for them to turn them around and send them back to me via USPS slow and uninsured. If you're going to charge $39 for shipping back to me, I expect to get UPS or Fedex service, not $8 USPS shipping. I understand everyone needs to make a profit, but charging almost $40 for shipping and then using USPS is inexcusable. I tried to contact them via their chat, but it's some automated AI chatbot which tells me how much they care about their customers. They looked like they hadn't even been touched. I wish I would have read all the negative reviews and I would have chosen a different company. Used them for rewebbing and servicing the front seat belts of my 99 Mustang, which had a recall that year, but mine supposedly wasn't included. Belts had always been finicky, not wanting to retract well, though they locked well if brakes applied hard, as they should. It was so great to get the belts back, have them reinstalled, and have them work properly and retract automatically as they should when you unbuckled them. They did a great job, and were fast to return the belts to the mechanic to reinstall. read more

I am a fan of this company, I did watch one of their videos and was intrigued to getting my seatbelts rewebbed with a different color. Paid and shipped them off expecting a 24 hour turn around time like advertised, tracked the package shipped Monday 6-10 delivered on Tuesday 6-11 at 10:22am got a confirmation email that package was received and expected them within 24 hours, sadly no confirmation email until Wednesday 6-12 at 3:35pm stating a shipping label was created. Shipping of the package did not commence until 6-13 did not hit its final destination until 6-14 at 1:35pm so i'm not sure if 24 hours means 4 days but if something is advertised you kinda want it to be just as advertised. My old 1989 Toyota Supra had a frayed seat belt on the driver's side, so I looked all over and couldn't find another seat belt other than one in Japan for $450 of unknown color. Customer service is terrible!!! They commit to a 24hr turn around, which is a complete lie. They have had my repair since 8/11/2020 (now it is 8/19) and every time I call no one can tell me what the status is, if it has been shipped, or even if the repair has been done. All I can get out of anyone there is than that they have my seatbelt. I have received no communication from this company other than to confirm they received my repair. Today the guy that answered the phone hung up on me after telling me he couldn't tell me anything about my repair (this is the 2nd time this has happened to me)?!? Every time I call I am given the run around and told to call back when one of their managers is there. Curiously, after 3 calls they never have a manager there nor has anyone called me back. they contacted me and said they would honor lifetime guarantee and give me a refund for my issues. They had me send they seatbelt in, never gave refund and sent a bill for the full amount again, when I told them it was under warranty, they claimed the seat belt was not repairable and are now refusing to return the seatbelt which is worth about $200 and that is not even retail price. They promised to resolve all issues, THEY DID NOT, 24 HR TURNAROUND, DON'T BELIEVE IT. REFUND NEVER HAPPENED JUST LIP SERVICE AND RUN AROUND, THEY STILL HAVE MY SEATBELT! I have a 2000 Camaro convertible, the seatbelt retractors were not working very well, and the belt webs were beginning to show wear. The dealer indicated that replacement belts were obsolete, and no longer available. I thought about purchasing used ones from an auto dismantler or eBay, but I wasn't sure what condition they would be in. I found this company on Ebay, and the quote to rebuild them was much lower than the dealer would have charged if the parts were available. I was told they would turn them around within 24 hours, but they hadn't received new webbing, so it took them a couple of extra days. I suppose a lot of products are hard to get these days, with Covid and all. In any event, I got my seatbelts back within one week, and so far they seem to be working well. They do seem to have good control of your parts, I got mine back second day through the Postal Service. I'm sure they have their share of issues (like most businesses) but overall they seem pretty reliable. I found it easier to prepay for the rebuild, and they emailed me a a receipt, which you should enclose in the box when you ship it. I shipped mine by USPS Priority mail, which provides you with a tracking number. Yu also may might want to consider insuring the package for at least the cost of repair or replacement. It's relative inexpensive. This company is a good alternative for hard to get seat belts, or to purchasing new ones. I will probably use them again in the future. read more

I sent them a seat belt tensioner out of my 2005 BMW X3 that I thought needed to be restored to factory specifications. I paid the required pre-pay fee of $64.95 and another $18.00 shipping fee. They received the item. They informed me that there was nothing wrong with the seat belt tensioner. They subsequently mailed the item back to me and fully refunded my repair fee along with the shipping and handling cost. I am very pleased!!!!! I sent in my two seatbelts and module to be repaired and my items were delivered to them on 3/9/22 and that repairs were in progress. I called them 2 weeks later because I had not heard anything and it took about an hour for anyone to pick up. There response was they were backed up but I would probably get my items on or by 3/25/22. Now it is 4/4/22 and I have not heard anything or received anything. I called them and spent over 2 hours and the phone and no one was able to pick up. I tried up g their chat service on their website and it could not connect me with an agent either. If I could give 0 stars I totally would! I paid for their service on eBay; bought a Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Yaris seatbelt and airbag module repair on eBay and as usual I shipped the items out, after a couple weeks I reached out to them asking for my items and they told "they've been already shipped and delivered" and provided a tracking. When I checked the tracking number it showed the item being delivered in Texas and I don't live in Texas. I contacted them again, explained everything that was happening and they told they were going to check what was going on. A few days went by and nothing happened so I texted them again only this time with no answer back. Long story short, they completely ignored all my future text messages and after filing an eBay complaint they returned the money for the service but I lost the seatbelts and the airbag modules (which are expensive items). So if you do business with these people please be aware because they're not serious people nor do they care about your items. What I liked: Safety restore was easy, quick and provided high quality service at a reasonable price. They did a good job matching the seat belt color and really did have a one day turn around. I mailed the belt to them on Monday afternoon, they received it Wednesday morning (not bad from CA to MA), replaced my worn, frayed belt and mailed it back the same day. I received it back 4 days later and installed it. The company provides updates on when the receive your belt and when they send it back out. It was well packaged and ready for me to install. What I didn't like: I paid too much sending my seatbelt to Safety Restore. This was my fault not their's. Save yourself a few dollars by using the USPS Priority Mail boxes. I boxed it at home and it cost me $8 more than had I used the USPS box, not a big deal. It take minimal a mechanical ability to remove and replace the mechanism. Watch a couple YouTube videos and it is easy. It took me about 20 minutes to remove and another 20 to put it back together. Most of my time was spent dealing with the molding concealing the mechanism. It was nice to save some money, not be ripped off by a dealer and not have to drop the car off and then go back to pick it up. read more

I sent my seatbelt to Safety Restore back in February and STILL have NOT gotten it back TO THIS DAY NOT ONCE has anybody affiliated with the company tried to contact me with any status updates on my order. I am ALWAYS the one that has tried to contact them. When I call, the only way I can get an answer is if I select by the "place new order" option from their call menu. Other than that, I am either sent straight to voicemail or left on hold for an hour and a half, answered, told to continue to hold, then wait another HOUR AND A HALF just to not get answered. When I do get ahold of an employee, I am always given an excuse as to why my order has yet to be fixed. Some excuses I've heard are that they're "backed up" and "we're in the process of moving facilities". If you're so "backed up" don't you think it'd be smart NOT to accept any more orders until you've fixed and sent back the ones that have BEEN THERE FOR MONTHS On my most recent call, the employee told me that he COULD NOT FIND MY ORDER. Exactly what a customer wants to hear when they've been waiting months for their order, let alone an update. When asked if I could get the numbers for customer service or management, the employee proceeded to tell me he COULD NOT give that info to me because they are too backed up. Or at least that's what I picked up from what he was saying while the call was breaking up. I also fail to realize how them being backed up prevents me from getting that info. And how convenient is it that the call starts to break up as soon as I mention anything about customer service or receiving a refund for lack of communication or falsely advertising a "24 hour turnaround". Unfortunately, I'm still holding my breath in hopes that I do get my seatbelt back. Overall, I am very disappointed with the service this company provides. Company fixed my seatbelts on my Mercedes e320. Turn around time was about a week. Most likely the shipping companies fault and not safety restore. The only complaint I had was that the cost was very high to replace all the seat belts affected. A suggestion would be to do a buy 1 get 1 25% off. I sent them all the pieces and got back half the piece so now I have no money, no working belt, and no parts to fix what I have. Hey Ray just want to let you know that I got my seat belts back yesterday and installed them this morning. Everything is working great and the airbag light went off! I am very grateful for your service. I originally took my car to the Hyundai dealer for a diagnosis and an estimate and they tried to gouge the hell out of me. I don't know if they even looked at the car because their diagnosis was to also replace everything including the module and the buckles which I know now was unneeded. The dealer gave me an estimate of $2,200.00! Wow the car is not even worth that much. I figure with the repairs that your company Safety Restore did along with shipping and even the Hyundai dealer cost to diagnose ($125) the whole cost was a little under $300 A far cry from $2,200 that the dealer wanted! After reading all the positive reviews about this company, I decided to get my seatbelt and srs module fixed by them. I prepaid for the service and shipped with the invoice as they instructed. Items were delivered to Safety Restore on September 17, they shipped out the seatbelt on the 19th back to me. I opened the package and found out that my srs module was sent to the Allen, Tx location for repairs. Item delivered to the Tx location on September 25th and got an email a couple of days after requesting for separate payment for the srs module. I made the payment and about a week later got another email requesting payment again. I emailed the company to ship my module to me fixed on not because it had been days already and haven't my item back. I received email from the company on October 2 stating that the item was shipped, the tracking number shows otherwise, it shows that the label was created on September 29 but USPS didnt receive the item until October 5. A 24 hours service has taken weeks and not only that they lied to me about when it was shipped, sent me email for payment even when payment had already been made and ended paying paying additional shipping. I still haven't received my item as I write this review. The company received my item on September 17, today is October 6. The tracking showings that they package will arrive in a couple more days. This company deserves a negative star. read more

Prior to placing my purchase on eBay, Safety Restore answered my questions. I shipped my old belts via USPS and Safety Restore was able to get them returned to me within their two-week commitment. The belts were perfect!! Securely packed to prevent damage. I highly recommend them to any classic car owner, or even any modern car owner.
