The store manager, Jeff, drove a great experience despite some setbacks outside Safelite's control. Safelite's third-party glass vendor missed my back right window replacement in two shipments, and delivered one window broken. In each of these instances, Jeff promptly texted me as soon as he became aware of the vendor's botched delivery and set me up with new appointments. When the window glass was finally delivered & installed (about 3 weeks after initial appointment), Jeff & team offered to comp the full cost of the installation (parts & labor) due to the difficulties encountered. His team turned an otherwise painful experience into a transparent & honest one. I would highly recommend this location due to management's attentiveness to detail and customer care. read more

I would recommend going to any other auto glass replacement provider over this shop in Wakefield. I had two appointments cancelled on me in the same week - with both cancelled the day of the scheduled service and one after I had dropped the car off at 6am. The store manager was unhelpful and unwilling to look for solutions. Safelite Corporate tried to get involved and he was unwilling to work with them either. After my experience, I read the other reviews and saw that cancelled appointments and poor customer service is what this particular branch is know for. Bring your business elsewhere. read more

I can count on one finger how many online ratings I have given in my life. I'm not one to complain; however, this Safelite location in Wakefield is horrible. If I could give a 1/2 star rating I would. They rescheduled my appointment 5 times over two months, each time for different reasons. Finally got the windshield installed and the calibration isn't correct and keeps blinking on my dash. Got two wipers with the install and one of them just flew off the windshield yesterday while driving. read more

Horrible customer service from the start. I made the appointment online for windshield replacement, set up a time for them to come and paid online. I received a call a few minutes later that because of the car I have I would have to bring it in to a Safelite shop. Not very convenient but they said I could drop it off the night before. I said ok and that I had already paid online and would there be an additional charge. They said no and minutes after I hung up I got a confirmation email stating I owed an additional $60.00. I had to call them back to get the additional fee taken off. Went the day before with my husband following me to drop off the car and the key lockbox was unlocked and wide open so obviously not leaving my car there overnight. So many problems and they hadn't even looked at my car yet so I cancelled the appointment. I wouldn't trust this company to touch anything on my car. Safelite is a joke. read more

They replaced my windshield 2 weeks ago and didn't reset all the safety warnings that pop when you start the car. They don't know how to fix it and and have only promised me over and over (5 times so far) that someone would contact me about it but no one ever does. Their phone line always disconnects and the main Safelite customer service representatives keep saying they will escalate my case but nothing ever happens. Now I have to go to a dealer or a different glass replacement company since this Safelite shop is totally incompetent. read more

We got a rock in the windshield for our VW ID.4 driving down I-93, and it was clearly going to be too big to repair. I've read online that it can be hard to get the replacement windshield for this vehicle, or that you end up having to go to the dealer to do the work. But my insurance company made it two clicks to get an appointment a few days later at Safelite and I figured that I might as well try it before having to go to the dealer and submitting paperwork for a reimbursement. When we showed up at around 9am a few days later, they had the replacement glass and the tech working on it (Nevin) not only had it ready in a few hours (complete with calibration), but even managed to move the inspection sticker from the old windshield to the new windshield. It was honestly painless, which seems like it's always never the case when it comes to car stuff these days. read more

the Best!!! Had my 2021 Kia Sportage Windshield replaced at their site cause it required special calibrations! The service tech and all the guys were knowledgeable,pleasant, Accommodating, and professional! I can't say enough about the whole pleasant experience! But wait the best part is that I noticed day or 2 days after my rubber on the wiper was off I made a phone call and in a blink of an eye they went in my driveway and fixed it without even having to go there ! it was my pleasure to have dealt with Safelite! This is the worst experience Ive ever had. The team here managed to damage my brand new truck by pulling into the bay and scraping the doors. They then told me they would take care of it. My 2 hour appointment then turned into a 4 hour pain in the ass to go to a bodyshop to get an estimate. The estimated damages on my truck were roughly $700 dollars. No one will call me back and they keep claiming they have not received the estimate. The managers cell goes straight to voicemail and all I get is we will call you back. This has been going on for a week now. Hoping this will be taken care of shortly but not optimistic with my latest call into them. I will never do business here again. read more

The inside rear view mirror fell off my Kia windshield and I went to this place to get it re- attached. The technician gave be a long story about how he had tried to do this before, and that it doesn't work. He mentioned how hard it is to hold the mirror against the windshield while the glue sets. They said the only way to fix it was with a new windshield. I said this is not a glass problem and the insurance company would not pay for it. They suggested I tell the insurance company a rock hit the windshield. l said I would not lie to my insurance company. They gave me a cash quote of $1200 for a new windshield. I left and learned on the internet that almost all mirrors are held on using a small steel button glued to the glass that the mirror is then attached to afterwards. Sure enough, that's how mine was made, and I separated the button from the mirror. I purchased a Permatex mirror adhesive kit and glued the button back onto the glass, holding it with my thumb for about a minute like the instructions said. I put the mirror back on the next day and it has been fine ever since. Total cost $8.00. I'll let you draw your own conclusions about the competence and/or honesty of these people. I predict this will draw one of those "Thank you for reaching out to us . . ." responses. read more

I just picked up my car and I don't think the technician knew how to set my wipers into maitnence mode which leads me to believe that they just pulled against the wiper motor to get the wipers to come to a position where they could change the windshield wipers and replace the glass because now I can see the top of my windshield wiper in the resting position while I drive, which I could never do before, and I can also see that when I turn, my windshield wipers on the driver side wiper comes way too far across the windshield almost going off the windshield completely not recommended . Going to start off with the fact that 3 different people called me to confirm my appointment. Second person who called asked if i could come in at 330 rather than 4 which was when my appointment was. Sure no problem was more than happy to do so. Third person who called didn't understand how my appointment changed to an earlier time. No worries hashed that out. I arrived for my appointment. No masks on any one who works there. Total was 308 and change I gave them $310 and they thought since they didn't have change they automatically could keep the difference. They magically found $1 and change to give me, not struggling over a single dollar but it was the assumption of them keeping the change was what did it for me. The technician was the only one with any mild form of a customer service skill set. All set with them, won't be back and definitely will not recommend. I made a 10 am, Tuesday appointment for a small chip in my front windshield. When I arrived for the appointment I was informed it would be about an hour as another patron also had a 10 am appointment. My car sat in the lot for over an hour and fifteen minutes before someone even looked at it. I am now an hour and forty minutes into this "appointment ". No one has addressed the long wait time or given any updates.. I wish I had packed a lunch and went elsewhere. I hope to leave by dinner. read more

Horrible experience! First they ordered the wrong windshield. Then they gave me the run around for 2 weeks saying they had to order one , then the next story was that it arrived damaged at warehouse. My car is a hi end new car. The windshield comes from the dealer with the vin. Now they didn't start returning my calls then they said another week or too. Finally I dumped them called a good local place they got my windshield and schedule an installation the following week. I heard Safelite does not like to work on high-end cars. I would suggest you stay away from like the plague! Recommended by Safety Insurance, y should look into this! Don't waste your time. read more

Worst place, don't even think about going there. Very disorganized people. I received a call at 11 am , when my appointment was scheduled at 2:30 asking me to come earlier if I want. I did go, and then went back home. I received a call an hour later telling me that they didn't receive my windshield from the warehouse. Which is completely unacceptable, I have no idea how they didn't know this when they called me in the morning to come even earlier. My friend also had the same awful experience after waiting in their place for more than three hours they came in to let him know that the windshield they have for him has a scratch and if he is ok with them installing a SCRATCHED one, or if he would prefer to wait for them to make a brew order and come again in few weeks. Very impressed with this place. I had a huge crack growing in my windshield and my insurance company made an appt at Safelight for me for a complete windshield replacement. They were a little overkill with the emails and text notifications, but for good reason. These people are dead serious about keeping their appointment windows. I dropped my car off a couple of minutes before my appointment time and was told the job would be complete in about 40 minutes. (I was originally quoted a 2 hour wait time.). I drove away to run an errand and before I knew it, the job was complete and it had actually only taken them just 30 min. The technician was very good about meeting me when I picked up my car and advised me what I could and couldn't do (no fast highway driving for at least a 1/2 hour, no high-pressure car washes for at least a week, etc). Overall, i would come here again, even if the damage was not covered by my insurance. Don't really understand the negative reviews. The staff was extremely professional and I had a crew of 4-5 employees standing by waiting for my arrival. read more

This was my first experience with this place and my last. After the service I was provided, or lack there of, I will not be returning in the future. I had the windshield replaced on my car at my house and when the guy was done working on it, he used a seal that did not fit the windshield and left broken glass everywhere. I then took it to the main location and had them get a new seal and clean out the glass. I got back the next day and the seal was replaced but not all the glass was removed still. Then I found out they broke my hood release latch. They told me they would order one and replace it for me. I had to call about 3 times over 3 weeks to remind them to actually order my damn part. After all of that, I took my car there and guess what, they can't replace it because they would have to remove a wheel. I told them to give me the part and I did the job myself in about 3 hours. A joke of a place and business and will not be returning there again. read more
