Great experience here from the first call to install. My Auto insurance company uses this service to repair auto glass. They transfer the phone call to a CSR and they take all your info and then set up an appointment. I showed up at the appointment as scheduled and they were expecting me and were immediately able to get my vehicle in for windshield replacement. I was told it would be 1 to 1.5 hours to complete the work. You get a text asking if you want to be updated through the process. I received several text's and right at 1.5 hours received a text indicating the vehicle was ready and a Tech would meet me in the waiting room. Matt was very professional and walked me through the one year warranty. It was seamless and easy and I would highly recommend their service. I had windshield replacement in the same vehicle before and they had to get 3 different windshields before they found one that was compatible with all the electronics that are embedded in the rearview mirror which is attached to the windshield. I would highly recommend them. The waiting area is clean, stocked with water and coffee and the restroom was clean as well. Plenty of free parking on-site. read more

I had an appointment scheduled and didn't appreciate how the technician started the process. Although I left the key in the car. He didn't notify me when he arrived and was starting the work. I happened to look out the window and see him working. Then my husband goes out to ask questions. Afterwards the windshield has been left to drying 3 hous undisturbed. We go out to look over and notice the windshield wipers we're not changed ... WOW ... A new windshield with no the same wipers maybe that's the standard . But, I should have been notified. Now I'm calling to address my concerns the Customer Service Representative was very professional, tried to get someone to answer her call. But, nobody was answering. So asked if she would let them know I was told not to use them and I would be posting a negative review. read more

Be sure that you are getting OEM glass or a discount on your deductible, and don't expect much consideration for your inconvenience. On the positive side... Safelite Rock Hill was able to get us in for the initial appointment in a reasonable time frame, were very responsive, and ultimately got the windshield replaced with OEM glass. On the negative side... The initial glass used was not OEM and **we were not notified of this**. Geico is my insurer and I have had my Jeep windshield replaced, which Geico offered a discount on my deductible if I selected non OEM glass. That was not the case for the 4Runner windshield claim, there was no option to select a lesser grade windshield for a discount. After driving 20 miles to get there and waiting 2 hours for the install (without clear knowledge of non OEM glass) my wife was informed that the new windshield was damaged (scratches directly in front of driver). To remedy this, the manager apparently told the front desk or technician to offer her $100 to accept the damaged windshield (this is a basically brand new 2021 4Runner). The offer was declined. The second attempt was promptly scheduled, with OEM glass, and they offered to have someone come pick up the truck rather than having to drive there and wait again. While the offer was nice, we obviously could not accept the risk of letting a Safelite employee drive our truck. So, my wife drove another 40 miles (that's more than $20 in mileage costs) round trip and waiting another 2 hours in the waiting room, taking time another 3 hours off of work to correct the original error. I get it, stuff happens, but to use lesser quality parts without clearly stating it, offering $100 for cheap, damaged glass and not offering any compensation for lost hours of work and the frustration, are all completely unacceptable. read more

My wife's Defender Windshield was replaced and they failed to replace a piece of trim at the base of the A Pillar. They had to order the part from Land Rover, I was told 3 weeks ago that the part was in, I had to wait two weeks for an appt that worked with my wife's schedule, texted that the tech was coming today between 8 and 12. No call, no text, no show. I looked online and the appt was cancelled. I called Safelite, you have to talk to the people in Ohio I guess because there is no way to call the store directly unless they give you the secret number. "Customer Care" called the store without me on the line and the store told her: the part is not in yet. We'll call you. This is the worst run business I have ever had the displeasure of working with and I have had some doozies. If they didn't warranty the work, they would never touch that car again but they will not touch another of my cars. read more

They came out and fixed the windshield and that went fine until you drive and the trim starts to rattle. Called and was told that they would not come out to fix it and that I had to make an appoint. We hired safelight to do the work on our windshield. Booking the appointment was easy. The repair man came to the house and broke something on the windshield. He said it has to be ordered and wouldn't be in until Tuesday. It was Thursday of the week prior to. So I called customer service to see if they could expedite getting the part in and she told me she would call me back. She never did. I called them Tuesday after no one showed up. I spoke with a manager who stated she would get to the bottom of it. Well it turns out the part wasn't ordered yet. Long story short, they didn't fix it until Thursday. The crack got bigger because of the heat. I will never use them again. read more

A rock hit my windshield, so I called my insurance company, Safeco. They contract with Safelight and were able to schedule my appointment in that first call, assured me I would receive emails confirming my appointment and all that good stuff. I did. Fast forward to replacement day, the tech called about 15/20 minutes into our scheduled window, then showed up at the requested location (the office driveway) a few minutes later. I handed over my keys, he got too work and checked back in once complete. I checked his work, he pointed out what time it was safe to drive the vehicle, I signed paperwork and he was on his way. I'd say, including the original phone call to my insurance company, the whole process only took about 20 minutes of my time. Overall, the system in place worked exactly as it was supposed to. This Safelite location is the best! We were in town for a wedding and someone broke into my truck as it sat in the parking lot of the hotel in Fort Mill by breaking out the right rear passenger side window. After calling my insurance company, I went to the Safelite website and made an appointment for them to come replace my window. The process for making the appointment was easy and smooth, and included inputting my insurance information. Soon after I got an email telling me my insurance company had been informed, they were going to take care of it, and that they would see me at my appointment. The appointment was a window of 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, but unlike the cable guy, Theron showed up at 12:05!! 45 minutes later, all the glass was vacuumed out of my truck and the window was replaced and working perfectly. Theron was friendly, professional, and did a great job. I would highly recommend, if you need any auto glass work done at all, this, or any Safelite location!! The weatherstrip at the top of our windshield on our Honda Odyssey was coming loose. It had previously come loose on a trip and I had stopped at an auto parts store and "fixed" it and it stayed for about a year. It started coming out again so my wife called Safelite to see about a professional repair. They originally told her it would be best to replace the windshield for $225 since they thought they were gong to have to remove it to fix the problem anyway and that way we'd get a warranty. So we made an appointment and took it in and were prepared to leave it for 2 hours for the replacement. A few minutes after we left we got a call from the technician who said the windshield didn't need to be replaced and that they could repair the loose weatherstripping and fill a ding in the windshield that we recently got from a highway rock and it would be ready in 30 minutes. We were so pleasantly surprised because we already had authorized the replacement and expected to pay for it so if they had proceeded with it we would never have known it wasn't really needed. We went back to get the car and not only did they replace the weatherstripping and fill the ding but they said "No charge". My issues consisted of: being told untruths about earlier available appointments and it would have taken even longer for them to come to me; they ordered the wrong windshield for my vehicle despite receiving the order on Friday and knowing that my appointment was set for Monday causing me to have tell them that was unacceptable, etc; no technician ever came out to introduce himself to me and explain specifics of my service that he was going to perform; and the technician left my front driver and passenger mats dirty with rubber and other debris from changing out my windshield.
