Do not go to this place in Plano, Lauro was my technician who replaced my windshield, and they cracked my dashboard panel, and they don't want to own up to it. when I bought it to the tech attention, he started raising his voice at me, "that if I turn it in, he will lose his job and he has a family to feed". What did that have to do with my crack dashboard. I'm not letting this go, I have sent it to the CEO. I trusted them to respect my car, and they didn't, this is not right to damage someone's car. They refuse to take accountability that my chip turned into a large crack under their supervision. No solution was proposed when I raised the issue with Rita the front desk associate, I received the most dismissive and unprofessional response. When I called customer service at Corporate, they mentioned to me that I should've signed a waiver. I was never given a waiver to sign, nor did she ever mention anything to me about the potential of it, not being successful when I raised that Point with Rita, She replied we don't do that at this location. My $170 windshield repair is now a multi-thousand dollar windshield replacement. I will pursue this legally. read more

I call back and ask him to text like I asked in the original appt setup. He called me back anyway to tell me he had two jobs and was very busy. It would be later that night. I should have known better after standing in line behind a disgruntled customer that my experience might be less than expected. First, they confirmed I had Lane Assist (wouldn't want to install the incorrect glass and compromise your safety system). Two and a half hours later I received my car back with the safety system now non-responsive. They had to go pull my toll tag and registration sticker out of the trash after delivering my keys. My windshield wipers were never reconnected to my wiper fluid reservoir. The price for the total service was $126 ABOVE the original quote- even though I turned down all the extras offered to me. When I inquired about the price difference, I was told that it was a frequent misunderstanding, as the original quote was only for the glass. Both the tech (who said, "I've never actually been inside this car before" nor the manager were able to resolve my concerns or return my car to me in the same state by which I originally brought it to them. Shame on my insurance company, AllState for the recommendation, shame on Safelight for providing a quote and then changing the price and not returning my car to me in the original condition. Shame on me for not turning around and walking out when I heard how the customers' concerns ahead of me were so easily dismissed. They have horrible customer service, I had to come back to get a recalibration, dropped my car off in the morning and came to pick it up at closing only to find they had not been completed. They told me I can pick up the car and they would have to wait until they could order a new windshield for me. This ended up taking 3 months to be completed and I had to be the one following up with them. Magically after I called they "just had it come in". I've been a loyal Safelite customer for years and have always been pleased with their windshield repairs--until now. I understand that a windshield repair may not be flawless, but in the past, there's always been a noticeable improvement. Unfortunately, this time, I can't even tell a repair was done. The crack looks just as bad as before, like someone dropped a rock on it. The technician mentioned that he'd only been doing this for a year and that the team was mostly new. He also said they were no longer allowed to use the same repair methods as before, which I found concerning. When I called customer service, I was told my only option now was to replace the entire windshield, even though it's just a small 1-inch star crack. When making a reservation on line, make sure it gives an estimate of time. I made a reservation. They said be there by 9:30, I was. I was informed that this was an all day appointment. What that means is, they will fit you in between the other appointments, but garrantee you get your car back that day. By 2:30, no update. then i get a call that they had not started it yet, but it would be done by 6:30. A little context, before I did my on line appt I went there to make sure of the out the door cost. They told me and they said it typically takes 3 hours, which is what i was expecting. We had a rock hit our windshield when driving through Houston. By the time we arrived in Dallas the crack had grown. We contacted our auto insurance agent and they contacted Safelite Auto Glass. A representative from Safelite called to schedule an appointment. An appointment was made and we dropped the car off at the designated date and time. They are very busy at this location and space is tight and they ask you to leave the car, if at all possible. You can pay your portion through a link that they send to you to streamline the pick up process. They transferred the toll tag and registration stickers from the old windshield to the new one. I am a master mechanic who has been in the automotive industry. So I want to tell you from a professional standpoint that I was very impressed with how they pre-ordered the windshield and it was ready to go when I got there with polite order entry employees. I believe the glass is actually better than the original because the original on my Infiniti QX 60 cracks very easily when a rock hits it and so far I have not had a rock chip cause a crack in this glass. I was worried about the class being wavy, which it is not, or that the rain sensors would be off and some of the fancy sensory options that exist on high-end cars these days, but they took great care of it, even better than the dealership did four months ago when it broke the first time. Unethical business practice, period. Got routed to Safelite Frisco through my auto insurance for a windshield replacement. Appointment set for Tuesday. Tech showed up with a defective glass; he was asked by the shop to still show up to see if the customer would accept it. Apparently he's got a full truck of rejected glass, so it's their common practice. Who would accept defective glass in the first place? No big deal, glass declined. Tech said Safelite would call to reschedule, OR I could drive all the way down to Plano WITHOUT an appointment to get it done. Wednesday came, no call. Thursday, I decided to drive all the way down to Plano only to be rejected because I was now supposed to have made an appointment. Held my temper, made an in-home appointment again for Friday from 12pm to 5pm. Guess what, 2pm no call. I called Plano, and they said I was scheduled but not routed. I told the woman on the phone to cancel the whole thing. She didn't even try one bit to make it right. Just silence and a casual "it's cancelled" and that was it. Three days wasted. read more

Here is the truth of it; I set up an at-home appointment to get my windshield in place. The tech showed exactly as promised. It seems that someone brought the windshield to him while he was at another job--therefore, didn't have time to check it, as it was put in his van while he was doing another job. The windshield had a noticeable flaw that would have been right in my line of sight. So we set another appointment to bring an acceptable windshield. This time the glass was perfect. The install went as planned. I noticed the new tech had some problems figuring out the wipers. After a brief road trip to calibrate, he came to me with the keys and said, "All done." I thought nothing of it. The next morning I had a covid testing appointment before I went into a procedure performed by my oncologist. Of course it was raining and when I realized the windshield wipers were not going to work well enough for me to see in early morning rush-hour traffic, I gave up on driving the Edge. Thankfully my spouse's car had gas so I was still able to make it to my appointment--barely. You can figure I was pretty upset. I made an appointment to get the wipers fixed at the Plano location. I went in and explained the situation. I do believe it must have been the manager that came rushing to the window. Very few words were exchanged but they immediately put someone on it and we had a fairly short wait before my windshield wipers were up and running like a champ. After the obvious inconvenience, you may wonder why four stars. Logical. I can forgive most of the inconvenience. It wasn't the installers fault the first time. I have to admit, I was pretty darn upset about the wiper escapade. But what really cast the shining light was the Plano folks. That is the way to do business. A quick apology and fix it. They clearly don't want calls to the location - all communication is routed online. I made the appointment - waiting a few days - and score an afternoon spot. Raced over to the appointment and told the wait would be 30 to 45 minutes. At 45 minutes I was told I was after the person in front of me next and it would be another 45 min to 1 hour wait. The room was packed. This would be 2 hour wait for a tiny repair.... There were conflicting info from representatives and several customers just left without their repairs. There was at least one person who'd been waiting for 6 hours for a windshield chip repair. I left and called a competitor. Safelight has lost me as a customer. Save yourself the time and energy. Made an appointment for (mobile) replacement of back window for the next morning. The technician calls us the next morning and says the window had not arrived from the warehouse. No further word from him hours after the scheduled work was to be done, so we called him and he said that the window sent was defective and he had to look for another one. Then he told us a manager would contact us. We never heard from anyone and tried all afternoon to find out what was going on. No one answered the phone. The following morning we managed to get in touch with office staff and they assured us the window was there and rescheduled the work for the following day. I called on the appointment morning and again, office staff assured us the technician would show up at the appointed time. We waited for several hours and got in touch with the technician again and he said that the window had NOT arrived and that a manager was supposed to have contacted us. Then we called to try to talk to a manager, but we got in touch with someone else who suggested they could do the job in a few DAYS from now. At this point, we cancelled the whole thing and got a credit card refund. We went to Safelite's competitor and actually got a several hundred dollar lower estimate for the same work. They took my car back shortly after I arrived and had it done in about an hour and I was on my way. I've used Safelite in the past (in another state/area) without any issue at all. Now, I need to replace the windshield on a brand new vehicle. The customer service folks had to send a request to the local shop to source the windshield and I can't seem to get any updates. I call to find out where they are w/ this and am put on hold multiple times while they try to reach the local shop and they've sent requests to have the local shop call me w/ an update. NOTHING! Do not go to this place. Got my windshield repaired here and while it took 4 hours for mine, multiple other people there were waiting all day, from morning till shop close to get their car back. They also charged me incorrectly for someone else's glass repair ON TOP of my own. They did refund me for it a week later but just now I discovered they charged me that amount again yesterday so now I have to go through the trouble of getting that refunded for a second time... They also never answer their shop phone so you have to go through the company's number to handle any problems they cause. read more
