When your car is broken into & you call your insurance and they recommend Safelite... My car was broken into on a Monday, after hours, call and schedule service, feeling relief that Tuesday, Robert the technician would come out. Even got an email confirming the appointment. Informed them that I was in a parking garage because it was going to rain and I didn't want to risk inside getting wet, no problem. Technician will be out, Great! Wrong, Tuesday rolls around and no call or status of Robert. I call the Safelite agent, a direct number to the shop is not provided. And even the agent had a hard time getting a hold of the shop. Understandable, they might be busy. Ally the customer service rep is more than helpful to reschedule, I again inform her that my car is in a garage, no problem. New technician, Kareem is assigned. Wednesday rolls around, Kareem the new technician gives me a call to confirm my window is between 3-5PM. Ok, again, notify that my car is in a parking garage. No problem. 430PM, I call Kareem directly as I did have his number. He says he's finishing up his current job and would be out by 530ish, ok... 558pm Kareem calls to ask what the clearance is on the garage, I tell him and "unfortunately our service trucks do not fit in the garage..." after about 15 minutes of expressing my frustration and maintaining my patience on how this is being handled we end call with him speaking to his manager on Thursday morning to possibly assign a different truck or tech. Thursday 8AM, I call the Safelite service number and agent, Briana, calls the shop, Tyler the manager gets on the call and informs me that their trucks can't enter. Will note that between Wednesday & Thursday he did offer a slight discount on the installation, however now, the convenience of having a tech come service my car is gone. I work in downtown and would need to drive to Pasadena to have the window repaired. I will say Tyler did what he could to assist at that point I was expecting a huge discount. But alas, I take the care to their Pasadena shop. Window was repaired quickly. Staff was friendly in shop. After the window was repaired I was grateful it was done... or so I thought... days pass and I use the back shield wiper... take 10 seconds to watch the video and let me know if you see something off? What is the wiper wiping? The window or the door? I call to schedule it to be fixed. Had to schedule for a weekend because I had already taken time off to resolve the initial broken window. Hopefully mine was a one off situation and in future additional questions are asked like "what's the clearance on the garage you're in?" Made for an eventful week. Glad the broken window was resolved, hope the wiper is fixed & At least it has a lifetime guarantee on the window too. Price wise, for the service I got, feel should've been less. read more

PLEASE READ !!! I came with them 2 years ago to fix my driver's side window. I noticed that the window would go out of alignment and I asked the technician the day I picked up my vehicle about it and he told me that it was more of a aesthetic issue and that I would have to take it to the dealership to get fixed. Thinking it was that I left it as is since the window would (awkwardly) close. Fast forward to today and I decided to take it to the dealership to get the window channel fixed because the window was struggling to close. Come to find out the safelite technician had cross threaded the bolt to the window. It messed up the alignment of the window and it's what caused it to lift up at an angle. I talked to Tyler at the front and he said they would have to see it and figure out how they could have fixed the issue.I don't have time to be going back and forth from place to place to get my car window fixed when it should have been done correctly the first time around. If they would have taken their time and put in the right amount of effort to make sure the damn thing is screwed on right this wouldn't have been a problem in the first place. You claim to have years of experience yet something as small as screwing a bolt on right is too rigorous for their technicians to do? Sounds like incompetence to me. Either way I had to pay again to get this issue fixed the right way this time but at my dealership which if I would have gone there in the first place it would have been cheaper. They did a service on my back driver's side window and now I'm hoping and praying nothing is wrong with it and no troubles occur. Safelite put a rear glass in my 2023 QX 80 and installed the wrong Glass. Took it back the next day and they said yes it was the wrong glass. Had to get the correct glass for infinity. When they installed it this time they broke the Hatch-Rear Gate Sensor. The rear hatch would not open. Took it back and they could not find out what was wrong. Took my QX 80 to Clear Lake Infiniti and they found that when they installed the Glass they broke the Sensor. A $ 1086.73 dollar repair. I reported to Safelite's Customer Care and I just get the round around. I will never use Safelite again. Should have just used a local shop that care. Still waiting for Safelite to reach out to me. Save yourself some time and trouble do not used. I wish I had check the reviews before I used them. read more

My car was burglarized on Friday night. After reporting what happened, I went onto my insurance app to begin filing a claim. Since the damage was limited to the glass only, I was redirected to SafeLite's website. I was able to find the nearest shop and easily select the earliest available day to have my glass replaced. Once I booked the appointment, I began receiving updates immediately with super clear instructions on how their drop-offs work and how procedures may be different due to Covid to insure proper distancing. I made an appointment for Tuesday and the drop off time was anytime before 9am so I left it there at 8am. I received a call back around 11am saying the glass is finished and my car was ready for pick up! Although it was pricier than I anticipated, it was certainly worth it. Their invoices are also clearly laid out and you can see exactly what your paying for and what was covered with insurance. I was pleasantly surprised to see the details on the installation of the new glass. The inside of the car was vacuumed where pieces of glass still remained and they even got the glass out of the inside of the hatch that was moving around when the trunk was opened. Picking my car up took less than 5 minutes and the woman inside was super nice (I wish I got her name but she was working today -Oct 6 at 12pm). Critical: Professionalism, Quality We took our 2017 Subaru Outback to this location for a windshield replacement. On the drive home, we noticed a wind noise coming from the windshield on the driver's side. We then took it to the Webster location, and the windshield was replaced again, but we had warning lights on our car safety features. We have Subaru Eyesight which is required to be calibrated after windshield replacement, which we paid Safelite to do. We were told we needed to take it to a dealer to get the system reset. at the dealer, we were told it had not been calibrated. After our fourth contact with Safelite, we were told we would get a refund. The work happened on 12/31 and 1/1. Today (1/27) still no refund. Working with corporate to resolve the matter. Safelite replaced my Windshield in Jan 2019. Last week I am driving down the road, no cars in site, nice clean road, and the windshield cracks from the bottom and spreads upward. Tech shows up today and says crack is from impact. I told him I was driving the car and nothing hit the windshield. He again said it was from impact. So, I guess I am a Liar? I was in the car and saw the window crack. There was no noise as there typically is with an impact. I have had many impacts over the 39 years I have been driving - not this time. Hey Safelite - FYI - Spontaneous glass breakage is a phenomenon by which toughened glass (or tempered) may spontaneously break without any apparent reason. Had to have a windshield replaced and this is a very nice place, super comfy and clean waiting area with snacks and free soda, water and keurig drinks available. The tech assigned to my vehicle came right out, looked at the issue and was very friendly and professional. The work was done way faster than expected (under an hour). This is the only place I found that will replace the windshield and do the calibration. Only issue was warranty work discussed on the phone was all worked out but not fully understood with onsite staff, however they got it worked out quite quickly. read more

I advised that I had a doctor's appointment and I would be available after 10:30 a.m.. Before I left for the appointment I left the key to the vehicle in a secure location and went to my 9:30 appointment. 9:45 a.m. they called and were at my house, I told them where to get the key, they said they would be through in an hour, perfect. When I got home they were putting away their tools, I signed the ticket, and was given instructions on when to remove the tape and when it could get wet. This was so easy. read more

But we were not told at anytime to leave a CC on file to that they can proceed with the ordering of the windshield. They tell him they have nothing scheduled because there isn't a CC ON FILE. Well wth no one told us to leave one. So finally after GEICO gets on the phone with Safelite to see what's going on. She tells us they haven't ordered your windshield because you didn't leave CC on file. We were so irritated over this Safelight didn't call us. I had hit a curb and the impact split my windshield in two. I was sent here by my insurance company. The windshield was installed. (FYI I did end up with extra fees for the toll system because instead of telling me I needed a new toll pass, they just slapped on the old one. Removing it makes it non-functional. So my tolls ended up be $75 a pop. Thanks Safelite.) My car is rarely parked outdoors and uncovered. So months later I notice two water leaks after my car was in a huge downpour. It never occurred to me it would be the windshield so I went to an auto body shop to have the leaks identified. They found it was related to the windshield. When I spoke to someone at the call center, they were apologetic and made me an appointment. As soon as I was greeted by the employee at this location, I could tell for whatever reason, my appointment irritated him. He was rude. He was glib. He was argumentative.I went on to explain the leak. "It's the sunroof'" he barked. I told him i had the leak diagnosed, saw the water run over the sunroof, drain as it was suppose to and no leak. I described the two holes and described the body shop had removed the seal to diagnose the leak. "Well that voided the warranty." I aked him if he would like to talk to the guy who diagnosed it? "Not. At. All," he said. Wow. Not a "no, that's okay." or "not necessary". All attitude. He was so argumentative. As though he was trying to make me fight with him so he could tell me to leave. I bit my tongue and gave him the key so they could fix their mistake that he denied, denied, denied. They did re-install my windshield and guess what surly, defensive, outright rude Safelite employee? The leak disappeared when you guys reinstalled the windshield! I never caught his name because he never introduced himself. And I never read his ID badge because he handed me the key, mumbled something about not finding a source of the leak, even having his district manager look at it, still denying it was the windshield and took off. Max 3 second interaction. He was a white male, beard and tattoos. I hope you remember me because there was no need for this encounter to go this way. I am just a customer who ended up with a water leak after work was done at your shop. I would have LOVED for everything to have happened right the first time. I did not want the interior of my car wet. I did not want to pay $250 for an interior clean after Hurricane Harvey and inches of water entered my car, not from flooding but from a water leak that developed due to your shop's poor work. If this was handled professionally and the problem fixed, it would have been a positive review in spite of the issue. I have deep respect for people who owe up to mistakes and aim to correct them. Sooo where do I begin! I took my car into the shop on Monday for my scheduled appointment. Everything was going well, the manager came out and said the tech was workin on my car and i should be done soon. About 10 minutes later the Tech came out and said there was a problem. Supposedly the bracket for the camera on my windshield was damaged. So they offered to pay for an Uber so that i could get home and the next day they would go and pick up a new glass for my car. So Tuesday came and i tried calling to see the status on my car, no one was answering the phones and the manager provided me her cellphone number but she kept ignoring my calls. Finally i text her and stated that i was only wanting to get an update on my car. She said that the new window was damaged and they had to order from the dealer and that it wouldn't come in till Friday, granted at this point it's Tuesday. So i explained to them that i needed my car to be fixed that day. So i requested an Uber an went to the shop. When i get to the shop another manager came and spoke to me and said he would get me a rental since my car would be with them for the remainder of the week. So i waited and waited until i realized he never came back with details about the rental car. I leave out of his office and see him chatting with the girls in the back. So i walk up like what's going with the rental car, he proceeds to say we are ordering you another windshield and it should be here today. ( so at this point we are on windshield number 3) so they pay for an Uber to get me back to work. As soon as I'm heading back up to the shop after work. I get a call stating the THIRD windshield was damaged and that they had to order from the dealer. So when i arrived to the shop, they said they had a windshield they could put on the car until the dealer windshield arrived on Friday. So Thursday evening comes and a lady calls to confirm my appointment i asked was the windshield there she said yes, i asked was it damaged she placed me on hold. When she came back she says oh no ma'am it's not here yet. So Friday comes and i call at noon to see if the windshield arrived because they said they receive shipments at noon. I forest tried calling the female manager she ignored my calls twice. Then i called the male manager. He answers and says the windshield isn't there. So at this point I'm over this whole situation. He says let me call you back and reach out to the dealer . He never calls back but instead has one of the employees call back she says it arrived. So i go to drop my car off. The girls at the from desk aren't interested in anything and doesn't know anything. So they take my car to the back and get it fixed. In the meantime i talk to the male manager to address the Ubers i paid for out of pocket( sorry i left that out, they paid for 3 Ubers, but i had to pay for 2 additional Ubers) so he gave me a $75.00 credit. When it's time to check out the lady at the front didn't know how to take off the $75.00 so she stated i will do it tomorrow, i told her no you will do it today, cause this is horrible. By reputation this company does a good job but "buyer beware". The initial online quote I received was $280.15 for a full windshield install on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL model. When I went to place my order and check-out the price had gone up to $369.52 with no explanation of the additional charges. Of course I was expecting to pay sales tax but couldn't understand the difference so I called. The difference was a trip fee charge along with a disposal fee for the old windshield. I feel like those charges should have been disclosed upfront with the quote before I wasted time completing all of the check-out information (name, address, phone number, and credit card info) and then trying to contact someone by phone for an explanation. I got an excellent turnkey job done at my house by someone else for $265 plus tax. I guess Safelite has to cover all of that TV advertising somehow. read more

I had the worst experience ever at Safelite, the Pasadena location specifically. A couple of days before Christmas the back window on my Lexus was broken, so I took my car to Safelite to get fixed since I have gone with them in the past for a windshield. The service was done, the window was replaced and I left. As soon as I got home I began to inspect the work that was done and noticed that the lining/molding on the bottom of the glass was not aligned, and it was leaving parts exposed. Then I noticed that the sides were also exposed as if the back window was not the correct fit. I went back and I was assured that it would be corrected and fixed. A few hours later I got a text saying my service was done. When I went to pick it up, I was told that there was nothing that they could do about it, and that due to the fact that it was an after market part it would not be the same and that the lining/molding couldn't be switched out. I was never called, or notified that they were not going to honor their warranty. The manager gave me the most difficult time, nothing was done to fix the issue. No options other than going through insurance. The next day I took the car to a different location where they checked it out. The first thing they noticed was a defect in the glass itself, the molding, the exposed sides, the terrible craftsmanship, and once they opened the trunk you could hear that all of the glass was left inside. Not only that but they did not assemble the insides of my car back to place. The housing of the trunk close buttons kept falling off, the back cover was not placed right, and overall the job was very sloppy. A week later I am still trying to get this issue sorted out. I had a scheduled appointment at the Pasadena, TX. Location, 619 E. Sam Houston Pkwy for Friday, Aug. 6 at 10AM. I called yesterday to ask that a mobile unit come out to service me due to the nature of my vehicle. The customer service rep "rescheduled" my appointment to allow a mobile unit to service me Friday, Aug 6 at 10AM. At 10:00AM I never received a call or notification from a Safelite repairman so I called. The representative (Kaiser) told me he saw no such appointment other than the original one which required me to visit a location. I informed him that my vehicle was inoperable and I need someone to come to me. He then rescheduled my appointment correctly, And sent an email indicating a technician would be to my home between 10-5. Hours went by and no word from Safelite. I called at 4:30PM to find out if a technician was coming only to find out a technician was never assigned my claim. The third customer service rep I had the "pleasure" of speaking with did attempt to call the assigned location but to no avail. Now I'm on the books, AGAIN, for Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 8-5. It's safe to say I'm beyond livid! The miscommunication amongst the Safelite team, failure to effectively manage claims and lack of customer service is costing me additional time and money - two things I can't get back. Safelite was one of the shops under my insurance Geico to fix my son's 2016 Mazda 3 sport about a year ago. We used the mobile service the tech was respectful and explained the process and told us we could just go back in the house he would handle everything in less than a hour. Well he finished in right under a hour and everything looked okay but we're not technicians so we paid the required fee and he left about 2months later the glass cracked out of the blue from no impact, and it has constantly cracked all the way across the windshield. I don't believe the glass was properly installed or was damaged while he was installing but needless to say I we will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. I took it to safe glass auto and they quickly changed out my glass with no concerns for any calibration issues for all my safety features. Just got quoted $114 for a rock chip REPAIR. That's not including them coming to my location, that's me doing the repair in shop. That's a little to extreme for a rock chip that's a size of a quarter. Called three other places for quotes and all three quoted me $40. DON'T BOOK AT AN OFFICE PARKING GARAGE unless clearance is at least 8 feet. I used safelight before and had a great experience. They came to my office parking garage and were in and out. I booked them again for the same garage and as the tech arrived he let me know his clearance was 7'9" and my garage clearance is 7'. Apparently they changed to a taller van. Because I couldn't reschedule I had to drive around with the tech to a nearby park (I was downtown) and wait while he did the change. Totally defeated the purpose of having them come on site. They told me it would take 30 min but I stood outside in the heat for nearly an hour that I missed from work. Very inconvenient. read more

I had 2 windshield rock chips repaired at my convenience, at my home. The tech was on time, very professional and did a great job. The online scheduling was quick and easy. I didn't think one of the chips could even be repaired; I have to look very closely to even find it. State Farm doesn't waive the deductible anymore for windshield repair; so I was pleased to find out that Safelite only charges SF customers $50 plus $10 for each additional chip repair. Great news since my deductible is $1000! read more

Was referred by my insurance company USAA in order to replace my windshield due to Hurricane Harvey. My appointment was for 0800 which I left an hour and a half early I arrived at 0816 due to redirection because of flooding in my area. He stated because of my time arriving the normal one hour turn time would be 2.5 hours because he had another appointment in 30 minutes and that he would have to work on both vehicles. This guy was extremely rude and it seemed he was not understanding when I explained my situation. He simply stated we have 15 minute grace period. I spoke to his manager Jody who was sympathetic and she stated she would address it. Customer service is key and the initial meeting will make or break you. I took my car to Safelite for a chip in the windshield on Tuesday. The guy explained that the chip may spread during repairs. I joked that it better not spread and had he done it before. he said several times. When the guy comes to get me and tell me my car was ready I noticed it had spread in 2 places. He said he put 2 coats of whatever they use and although it spread, I shouldn't have anymore issues with the windshield. It spread about 2 in on both sides but he said he fixed it so I didn't get to upset. Fast forward to Saturday. I am headed to a function and noticed the chip had now spread from 1 of the 2 repair sites all the way across my windshield. I called safelite and they explained they would have a manager contact me. Monday morning I receive a call from Tyler Hawthorn. He tells me that this was a failed repair so they can either refund me the $65 or they can refund my insurance co but that is basically my only 2 options. I am not satisfied. He said because the paperwork says that it may spread these are my 2 options. I understand that it did spread when i was there for the repair but the tech assured me he fixed it and it wouldn't spread but it did so your tech didn't do a good job and I am not paying for a new windshield!! I have had chips replaced numerous times and have never had this issue. Safelite did a bad repair and the manager doesn't care!! I'm so pissed!! I have already written the BBB and will be calling corporate today!! STAY AWAY from this place in Pasadena Tx, I took my Nissan Armada for a windshield replacemen on Saturday Oct 8, 2022, went to pick my Armada @5:00pm the same day, when we were there my husband noticed the replacement wasn't done right so we scheduled an appointment to get it fixed, we have that appointment on Wednesday Oct 12, 2022. When we got home I noticed damage to the left inside pillar so I went back to the place on Monday Oct, 10, 2022 @ 8:00am and ask to speak with the manager, the "manager" and "technician" came out to look at the damage and they said the damage was there from before, then he said they had photos, I asked him to show them to me and he said, sure! When I looked at the photos I noticed they don't have the actual time they were taken, if they are so professional they need to take photos before the replacement and after, I have proof that the photos they showed me were taken after the replacement! I take excellent care of my Armada and there is no way I could of damaged the pillar specially in that area, so close to the windshield. Will take this issue to small court if I have to. They need to take responsibility and resolve this issue. My windshield was hit by a rock on the highway and it started spreading months later. I decided to go through my insurance and Safelite Auto Glass was able to come to my house while I was working from home to replace the old windshield for a new one. My service tech was Jonte. He was very professional with calling when on the way, being on time and overall service he provided.
