When Eric was doing custom work I asked him to get with me to come up with something different. I wanted a wood looking gas tank for my VW. I wanted a wood look for the top. I wanted a wood look for the dash and mirrors and the back engine plate bracket. Eric made a new gas tank from his mind to fit the Manxter 2+2 that never leaked by the way. His unique airbrush style made everything stand out. I also had a unique Type 3 Fastback painted purple and Jiffy Lube drove it into a curb for inspection. Eric was able to match the paint and get it back to show worthy condition. If you want the best then Eric and Kathy's place is the BEST. Five Stars don't cut it so I'm adding 100+ Stars as my review. Take the easy to miss unpaved driveway just after the church, back to the repair shop. It is definitely worth the extra effort to find this gem of a shop and to deal with Chris, who has many years of experience in his craft and is an old school expert who can be trusted5. You will also find he is very honest, friendly and does outstanding high quality work. If you prefer being corralled into the flashy big corporate shops with all the sheeple by the insurance companies with long lines and process clerks following a script where it is not even possible ust consulting directly with the talent at the shop who will be working on your vehicle. In these type places you either take it or leave it, can't negotiate, can't expect any special effort to reduce your expense where possible or take a certain approach like repairs rather than part replacement when possible etc. I have personally experienced the friendly professional service, flexible approach to getting the job done right the first time in a timely manner , the way you want it and an ability to deal directly with one person, rather than being passed from one clerk for this and another for that. You should give Chris a try I am sure you will be happy you did. He is the antidote to the hassle of Big, Inflexible Insurance -company partners in the collision body shop business who are looking out for Insurance companies more than you.

Full review: I came here because it was the closest body shop to where I live and I had some superficial scratches in my bumper that I wanted repaired. I arrived at the shop was not greeted by anyone. When I came in, this Chris guy, who by his appearance, did not even look like a business owner. He ignored me and walked straight into his office. At first I felt compelled to leave but I figured a lower-end body shop will probably give me a better deal than higher end one. So in an attempt to repair my car for as cheaply as possible I decided to wait out the poor service. After waiting for about 20 minutes he came out and I greeted him and showed him the damage. He first quoted me $550. It was not a print out or anything he just told me verbally. His facility was not even nice enough to facilitate printed estimates. That was not even a real parking lot park your car, just grass and rock and sand roads. When I explained to him that was expensive and I've had more serious body work done for much less he attempted to explain to me that what he does is the best and if I take it anywhere else they're not going to do a good job. I graciously thanked him and proceeded on my way. I went next door to a much nicer body shop that had an air-conditioned office and seating for their customers. One would've assumed a nicer bodyshop would have higher prices. However, this was not the case. I was able to obtain a PRINTED estimate for half the price of what he was asking. Half. Do your self a favor and avoid getting ripped off by this Chris guy.

However, in my opinion, from the standpoint of someone garnering quotes for a future mirror replacement, the receptionist or customer service associate who answered the phone did not have a good enough concept of (potential) customer relations. After a truly harrowing, somewhat traumatizing freeway experience, I thought the person answering the phone would at least have some kind of empathy or even just a professional, friendly tone. My initial request to speak to a mechanic or service advisor was ignored. Anyways, I volunteered info about the make, model, year and color of the car, but she only seemed interested in the VIN number, which I provided. Any other place asks for all of this info. She actually said I read the VIN number too fast at the end of my reading of it, which makes no sense as I never read numbers that fast out of courtesy. I even took the extra step of making sure she got the letters correctly, but, again, she did not appreciate that. Instead, she rather unprofessionally and abruptly ended the entire call. I've never had this kind of low vibration, low intelligence customer service from any auto-related business. So, I called back and left a message thinking perhaps the owner would contact me either the same day or the next, to no avail. Every other business I have contacted, from dealerships to independent repair and body shops, have had much more impressive and professional communications.

The…read moregentleman with whom I spoke saying "I am outside" came across extremely unprofessional right from the beginning as if he was riding high on a horse. From there it went downhill very very fast. I was paying for these repair out of my pocket and wanted to make this very very clear so he does NOT waste his and my time. This purportedly idiot told me flat out "I am not ready to hear out your stories". Those were his exact words. I usually push back giving a middle finger but I restrained myself . What I want to tell him if he thinks the estimates are over $850 (I got an estimate from other shop who is off the beaten tracks. This shop told me any other shops on the beaten tracks will give me estimate over $2000 and will show off their "riding on high horse" attitude too) I do NOT want the estimate. Since anything above $750 is NOT worth it for 22+ old 210000 miles vehicle. It turned out exactly what I warned about. I gave this guy (who is an estimator and purportedly an owner too (IMHO)) a polite but firm earful. I really wanted to tear his paper estimate and throw on his face but I restrained. I usually do NOT waste my time with such guys. They do not how to treat a customer.
