The insurance deductible for comprehensive was set way too high (already changed it, lesson learned) so I was stuck paying for a new windshield out of pocket. I called many different places in the area, including Belle Tire, Henderson Glass, Safelite and Schrader Collision. Most of them had steep quotes, way into the high $300s and one even quoted me $410. I felt bad laughing at the guy, but come on! It's a basic windshield... no rain sensor, no fancy tinting. The guy I spoke with at Schrader said they don't do their own auto glass; they hire another company to do it - Michiganwide. He gave me their number and I called them up. Michiganwide gave me the lowest quote on my windshield at about $240... at least $100 less than the lowest quote I'd been given while researching. We set up an appointment for them to come to my house and replace the windshield on a Saturday afternoon. Two guys showed up at my house at 10am, even though we'd set the appointment for around 2pm. Hell, I was still in bed when they knocked on my door. My car wasn't prepared to have its windshield taken out, as it was parked in the shade and it was still snowy outside. I wish they would have stuck to their original appointment time, but it wasn't a big deal. The ice on my car proved to be a challenge, as it took the guys about an hour to get the windshield loose. Once they finally got it out, they put the new windshield in pretty quickly and cleaned up their mess in my car. I was welcomed to come check out their work, and they went over care instructions with me. They had to take my windshield wipers out to install the new glass, and when they reinstalled them, they were crooked and the left one banged against my car while they were on. I called them back a few days later and they were happy to come back to my house and personally re-adjust my wipers so they were set properly. Talk about service! I will admit the windshield that was installed was lower quality than the one that came with my Passat. I could tell by very slight ripples in the glass when I swayed my head back and forth while in the driver's seat. It was worth saving $100+, because the glass itself was clear and safe. The slight ripples never bothered my vision while driving. I'd recommend this company to anyone for auto glass repair. The two men who came to my house were friendly and courteous, going so far as calling me ma'am... you don't see that much anymore, especially in the service industry. Michiganwide Auto Glass saved me time and money by having the lowest quoted price, coming to my house on a weekend with short notice, cleaning up their mess when they were done and fixing my wiper issue in a timely manner. It was painless.

However, they must have changed ownership or managment because at of now (September 2026) the service was awful. Third in line, 25 minute wait. Then the salesman goes into the back (without acknowledging the person standing there) and doesn't re-appear for 10 minutes. Other employees come out, use the registers, ignore/don't acknowledge the people in line. Salesman finally comes back, mumbles something unintelligible to me. I explain that I need a Tube and a Tire for a wheel (which I have brought in). 5 solid minutes of typing at the computer, then asks me what type of tire it is (it's sitting on the counter in front of him). More typing, then gives me a total. I ask if that's for the TUBE and the TIRE and installation. Oh, he forgot the tube. Then he tells me if I drive to another location to pickup the tube they can do it for me by tomorrow. Then he forgets to add the labor to the total. I left and went somewhere else. Time to get some employees and management that know how to speak to human customers. I don't know who changed hands, but they were wonderful before, and can barely stand being there now. Go elsewhere.

I often wonder what goes through someone's head when they are called back repeatedly to diagnose a…read morejob. After multiple attempts to have the windshield I had installed at the dealership by this third party company diagnosed, I finally had to go to a collision place and have them diagnose it, which took less than a minute. Why wasn't this done when I returned to the dealership the first time? The only thing I can think of is laziness. It took having the collision place talk with the dealership for them to understand that there was indeed a problem with the windshield installed by Premier Auto Glass. This should have never been the case and they should be embarrassed by the amount of times I had to take my car in with a soaked headliner, the number of phone calls, complaints made, and miles driven to finally have the windshield diagnosed properly. I had to provide evidence of the leak to finally have it fixed, and even then, Jason wanted to cheap out on the job by "repairing it" instead of replacing it, which would have been fine if he had done it the first time my vehicle was brought in for this issue. Listen to your customers. If someone has a repeat problem with a repair, try actually looking into the problem instead of trying to blame another issue that doesn't even exist. The blame game doesn't work for me, but integrity does. This technician lacks integrity but seems to have all of the laziness. Thank you for finally fixing it after two trips to a collision place, and months of fighting with the dealership all the while my headliner is soaking and starting to stink. Lack of direct communication. You could have asked for my number, asked for me to be there when you make the repair. Literally anything but what you did which was NOTHING until I got video evidence. If you cannot see a leak in a windshield, I literally cannot help you to do your job. Again, passing the buck, and trying to pass the buck back to the person wronged is astounding. I literally asked to have the window resealed. I cannot be more specific than that. It should not require removing teeth to have a repair completed. Also, if not having direct communication with a customer prevents you from performing your job, maybe third party work isn't for you.
