The process of booking and filing a claim online with my insurance company went well. The staff were friendly and efficient through the whole process. The tech said my windshield was "an easy one to do." I looked everything over afterwards and was very impressed with his work. Terrible quality. The tape they used will not come off and has damaged the paint on the hood of my car. Less than 2 weeks later I have more than 10 rock chips. Safelite won't stand behind their quality and refuses to even repair the rock chips because they can only do 3 of them. I can't get a hold of a manager or customer service rep. This is the first time I was to use Safelite as I usually use a downtown auto glass company. But State Farm had Safelite as an option. (I chose the wrong company, unfortunately) Would not recommend. I had three glass repairs scheduled for Saturday, I have two kids which use their cars a lot and had to keep them here at home while the repairs were to be done. Then a little over two hours before the scheduled open time was to begin, I received a call telling me they needed to cancel and reschedule the one car that I had to have my son return early from Seattle so it was here for the work. He said they had overbooked their schedule. That takes a lot of work on our time and schedule to have three cars here and ready for Safelite. Very disrespectful and for a first time dealing with them absolutely ruined any future work done with Safelite. Since you know your business... you should know you're overbooked the day before or even sooner, not two hours prior. Also, I would recommend you calling your scheduled customers for the day and see who can reschedule easy and who can't. Who you need to reschedule, take special care of them for the inconvenience you're caused them. At least that is what "I do". That is not what you did. Would not recommend and will go back to the normal company I use which provides phenomenal service - not cancellations two hours before the arrival window was to begin. Would not recommend for lack of reliability and disrespect for calling to close to the beginning of the window. read more

I've had a very unsatisfactory experience with Safelite over three interactions now. I gave them two stars because they're always reliable with appointments and courteous and professional to deal with. However, they can't seem to get the right windshield or put it in correctly. I finally had to take a half day off work to come to the shop and stead of having an on-site installation. This was necessary because the last windshield installed wasn't sealed properly and the only way to evaluate it was in the shop. The last two times they brought a windshield out to my site for a replacement they brought the wrong one so I had to reschedule for a week later. Then one of those times my windshield was broken while installing. I won't be using them again. On a sidenote the end shop experience was unsatisfactory because they are not wearing masks and the man who seem to be in charge said oh the mandate was dropped. Well not for another week or so, another office worker said oh I keep 6 feet away that's not the rule. read more

We have used these folks twice in 2023 - once was for a repair and the other time for a complete windshield replacement. Both times the service was technically excellent and the staff is very down to earth and helpful. Doing the job correctly in every detail is so important nowadays, with all the various parts and devices now hung onto your windshield glass - plus it is very important for driving safety. Sometimes national franchise managements have unrealistic expectations for their workers and thus eventually they end up with frustrated or unresponsive staff. Not the case here! - even though these folks are clearly busy both with the work and with corporate mandates such as follow-up calls and appointment reminders, the entire group here in Bellingham are friendly, attentive and practical. My F-150 incurred windshield glass damage from a rock on HWY 20 .I contacted my insurance company and Safelite Autoglass of Bellingham was contracted to replace the glass.( 1). I stood by and the tech arrived for the replacement however the glass had a small thin fracture on the bottom. The tech stated that this was common due to the thinner glass used and we rescheduled . (2)Stood by for a schedule to replace the glass and work was completed . (3) In a short period of time the installed glass has a small thin fracture starting in the lower trim area where the glass seats .Informed Safelite and they sent a person to inspect , stood by for the normal 12-5 standyby period. Inspector arrived and we both reviewed the crack as best we could since it started at the bottom. Safelite employee stated this was Clearly a warranty issue ( the company maintains a life time warranty for inherent defects ) I agreed as it was clear there was no chip or rock damage ... (4) attempt # 4 the installer came with the new glass. looked at the existing glass and the crack that covered most of the windshield by expansion and stated ...this is not covered by warranty as the fracture has expanded and did in fact look different than when the warranty inspector reviewed..I agree with that ...however it had been two weeks, hot weather and the glass break was 2-3 feet long and had "run: The portion in question had expanded in width and looked opaque ... that was not the case when the warranty inspector approved the replacement ... I had literally days in waiting for this process , and said this was not right. He was curt, impolite, cocky and rude ....i told him i would call his company and as he headed for his SAFELITE Auto Van said I don,t give a "....." . I am 75 years of age, and have owned and operated ships for 50 years as well as acting as General Manager for vessel construction and operations and in charge of tens upon tens of millions of dollars in construction and vessel repairs ...including passenger ships ...in short i am a recognized expert and "know Glass " I called my insurance company and suggested they look into this "scam " because "scam " is exactly what it is . The Truck was inspected, i relied upon that inspection and set aside days to fix the issue. In legal terms, this is called detrimental reliance. The question i presented to the Safelite scheduling personnel , why would an installer override the warranty inspection recommendation and destroy a customers relationship with the parent Company ? In speaking with the Safelite scheduling entity ( thats different than the Safelite Installation Company) i suggested that there may be a rotten apple in their system and someone should investigate this situation . I was recommended Safelite through my insurance company. They were able to get me in within a few days and I had no issues with the scheduling or payment. When I went to pick up my vehicle I inspected the new windshield which looked good. But there was glass all over the exterior and interior of my vehicle. I was very disappointed as the glass shards were large and could hurt someone or damage my trim/paint. There was even glass stuck in my heating vents. Last weekend's windstorm blew a branch down and bashed in the rear window of my CRV. While this took place on Friday night and knew that there were no repair places open over the weekend, I had to plastic over the window and wait. Tuesday I was able to get an appointment at Safelite, and was given loads of ways to stay in touch, so I wouldn't forget my appointment. I made an appt to have my windshield replaced and recalibrated I arrived on time they told me it would take 2-2.5 hours. I live about an hour away and didn't want to have to wait on site and there wasn't much to do so I had my husband drive up and we ran around. Didn't hear from anyone came back 3 hours after my appt to find my car was not repaired apparently the windshield that was supposed to replace mine was broken. When I got in the guy said "Didn't you get the message?" I had not received a call from them the only call received was a no caller ID that had called a couple of mintues before arriving to get my car. This was a huge waste of time and money. Although the windshield replacement is satisfactory the condition of the windshield is not. Safelite installed a dirty ass windshield and didn't even think to clean it before or after installation. The inside of my windshield is so dirty it's hard to even see out of when the sun is shining on it and you can still see the sticker outline. It's so dirty In fact, that my son and I play tic tac toe on it because there is so much dust on the inside of the windshield. The fact that the technicians don't have the proper work ethic or craftsmanship to ensure that the NEW windshield that installed at least looks new is beyond me, if you can use someone me else, please do. read more

From start to finish the glass technician removed the old windshield from my '07 Ford F-350 and installed the new in 1 hour. The tech was detail-minded enough to remove the oil change sticker from the old windshield and stick it on the new one. They canceled my first appointment on me because they said they could not find the right glass, I spent an hour on the phone rescheduling and making sure they knew every detail for the next appointment. Within the 6 hour appointment window the tech told me he would arrive 30 minutes after the window... and not to mention they originally quoted me 280$ for a window and when I rescheduled it became 670$ and then in an email and when they showed up they told me IT WOULD COST 890$ !!! I had an appointment yesterday for 2 vehicles to have dings fixed. I waited for 5 hours for Dave from the Everett/Bellingham, WA office to show up. He never called and never showed up. I spoke to Dean at the Bellingham office this morning to find out what happened. He said he doesn't know. He gave no indication he was going to inquire about the incident. I was going to reschedule but the only person he could send out this week was Dave. I said I wanted someone else and Dean said Dave is quitting next Friday and after that he has no other techs. I came to Safelite due to having been the victim of a smash and grab while hiking. I had to have a driver's side rear window replaced and insurance wouldn't cover the cost. The receptionist and serviceman were willing to look into a discount and ended up saving me about $15 by eliminating my insurance information since they wouldn't cover anyhow. The serviceman was very friendly and careful with taking down my combination of trash bag/tape/cardboard window in order to avoid cosmetic damages. He also brought my attention to additional damage caused by the break in. The receptionist kept me company and provided information on alternative insurance companies. She really helped to calm my nerves. There's a nice beverage area with cold beverages and hot beverages available. Public restroom also available. Scheduled appt for home windshield installation/replacement on a 2006 Ford F150, price quoted was $650. Sent a tech named Ethan I believe, younger guy. First thing he did was complain about a couple wasps hanging around, to which I drove five miles to town to get him a can of wasp spray. When I returned, he had taken the cowling off and the wasp nests with it. But, he said he couldn't do the window install because there was rust around the window frame. I looked at it and suggested he wire brush it off, to which he said he was not allowed to and couldn't do the job. I told him it was ridiculous, and that he was putting me in a bad spot, because it was my son's truck and we were shipping to Kodiak, AK the next day because that's where he was stationed, and it couldn't be shipped with a cracked window. He again stated he wouldn't do it, and left. We missed our shipping appointment. I scheduled an appointment with Louis Auto glass in Mount Vernon and took the truck in. They replaced the windshield, wire brushed off the rust and sealed it up just fine. When I told the tech of the issues with Safelite - he laughed and laughed and said their tech was lazy and looking for reasons not to do the job, or, wasn't good enough or experienced enough to do it, because it was a normal and expected replacement based on the age of the truck. I totally agree! The best was, they did for over $100 cheaper on top of all that. Take your vehicle to Louis Auto Glass and avoid Safelite in Bellingham like the plague...or COVID! read more

Made an appointment for a rock chip in my windshield. Wasn't too big, but didn't want to worry about it. I was in and out within 30 minutes! And the chip is now repaired and you couldn't even tell there was ever a chip! The woman who helped me check out was kind and friendly as well as knowledgeable. She also happened to be the one who did the repair! Store was clean and comfortable with coffee and water while you waited. Price was a little more than I wanted to spend, but repair came with a. I had a very bizarre experience at this place today. Went into my appointment with a small chip, came out of my appointment with a huge crack across the windshield. The lady at the front desk warned me there is a chance this could happen, but didn't explain that a repair service is no charge while a replacement service costs hundreds of dollars (through geico). If I was given this important info, I wouldn't have risked the repair at all given how small the chip was. Would not even offer to waive the 30 dollar travel fee to install the replacement at my house. She was defensive and rude about the situation, which makes me thinks they mess these repairs up multiple times a day. And just by amazing coincidence they make a lot more money from a replacement than a repair.... I would recommend taking your car into an independently owned shop, your chances of running into an honest person are greater. read more

My car was broken into and the side window was smashed. Safelite got me in on the next business day and they did a great job. I hadn't had a chance to remove all the broken glass yet and they cleaned it all up for me, even offering to vacuum again if any more bits of glass appeared in the future. The window looks wonderful. I took my Lexus here and had a great experience. Same quote as the company the Lexus dealership in Seattle recommended. The windshield was an exact match, the service was fast (1 hour) and the results are perfect. Car is clean, no scratches, I can't even tell it was replaced. Guy repaired chip in my window. Guy guaranteed it would not Crack or spread. Couple weeks later it did. Paid $400 for new windshield (which I was later told it was thinner than the original). Guy scratched my car in a few spots. Left paper towels under the hood on the engine. As well as black and yellow marks all over. Didn't bother to hookup the wiper fluid hose back up. Also the windshield was not aligned properly. I complained to LARS, the office manager. Sent a different guy to check it out. At first they denied doing anything wrong. Finally Lars agreed they did the damage. Had another appointment (3rd one) for them to come align the windshield back to how it was before they touched it. Waited and waited. No show. Called and someone told me they canceled the appointment since I was taking my car to an auto body shop to fix their scratches, so the auto body place should be the ones to realign the windshield. They didn't bother letting me know I was canceled on. They expected another company to right their wrong since the auto body place has to remove their crappie windshield, they figured they would realign it correctly. The auto body place did a great job, but when they removed Safelites glass, it shattered. Imagine that. After auto body fixed scratches and ordered a better windshield, Lars said they couldn't do anything since another company has touched the windshield after Safelite. Called Lars to complain and he pretty much said there's nothing they can do. Was very rude to a paying customer. Take your business elsewhere! Even if you have Geico and they tell you to use Safelite, use anyone else! I'm stuck with a misaligned windshield and the Vin isn't even viewable anymore. We had our car broken into while at a music festival. Our insurance took us here and hour away from where we lived. When we got here we were told it could take anywhere from 10am(drop off time) until 5pm.( in between jobs) obviously we were not a priority. Then about 2 hours later at noon they email us .. not call to tell us the window didn't fit. We had to uber back and they proceeded to tell us there was nothing they could do. Never once talked to a technician. Went to a local place who fixed it in under and hour- they told us our door panel was taken off (normal) but that everything was disconnected including the lock mechanism ( awesome!) and that we even had a few bolts from the inside missing. Something NO ONE went over with us at Safelite. I've called customer service and nothing has been done. We should have been reimbursed for our money in gas spent there at least but nothing was offered. This place is not helpful and trash. Don't waste your time or your money. It's cheaper to do it with a small business that actually gives a shit about you and your vehicle. Save your time and your money !! read more
