    Scratches left by Auburn Safelite technician!

    I have set-up an appointment on-line to fix the road rock damage that hit my windshield on January 30th, a repair technician is supposed to go out between the hours of 8-12 noon, I didn't sleep coming home from work in the morning of the 31st just to wait for this technician to arrived! Well, he maximized the time frame and didn't arrived until a few minutes before 12 noon, so, that goes my rest day away! He started working on my Tesla windshield with a star damaged without using a towel to put on top of the body, this created scratches on the paint with the tool he had used to reach the windshield!! He started scraping off the center of the damaged and when he was done, I noticed the side parts didn't seem to have the resin field in! I raised this concern to him, but, was told that he has an expert eyes and could tell that the part was filled in! I trust that he knows what he was doing as I have used other Safelite branches before with my previous cars and had no issues at all! The technician seemed to be friendly and good communicator, he mentioned that he works in Auburn branch and he was in the business only for six-months! This raised concern on me as sending somebody to handle a high-end car with minimal work experience is worrisome! Supposedly, car shouldn't be driven within 30-mins after work is done, I have driven the car the following day instead to make sure that the work done will be intact! It was raining and noticed the windshield damaged created a line on both sides of the center where my concern was raised! Also, just noticed that side from the windshield had scratches left on the body of the car! Now, my windshield needed a complete replacement which I opted to have Tesla handle as Safelite is not approved by Tesla to work on their cars! Tesla owners beware! As of the scratches left on the paint I have raised both of these issues to Safelite, and, was told that the Auburn branch will keep in touch with me! I reported these issues the following day after work was done, February 1st! I just received a call from this branch today, February 12! The lady who called me (seemed to have introduced herself as the Assistant Supervisor/Manager), seemed to be more defensive, instead of taking care of the damaged done by their technicians and accept responsibility, she opted to question me to the point of annoyance! My time is so valuable and has no room for playing back and forth! I clean my car personally inside out daily that takes me 2-3 hours, so, I am very familiar if new scratches appears! She asked me to take a picture of the scratches , so, I have to get out of my car to do so! Then, she questioned why I'm just taking pictures and haven't done beforehand! I haven't even took a picture of the windshield damage as I trusted the repair technician will do so! So, instead of this woman resolving the issue, she opted to hanged up on me as she couldn't take to hear the fact that I told her that she doesn't seemed to want to take care of the responsibilities of the damaged the repair technician had created! These leave an unpleasant experience from these Auburn branch of Safelite! Hopefully, due to unsatisfactory work done, my insurance will be compensated back on the amount paid for the supposed repair!

    I'm giving two stars because the I have had work done by them before, and the service for the price is fair. BUT the scheduling is only controlled and maintained by online and robo_phone operators. I made a appointment on Monday to have service done Friday between 8am-12pm. After moving my day around to accommodate, they changed my window to 12pm-5pm on day of service. Tech told me there was nothing he could do and instructed me to cancel the appointment myself. I couldn't reach an operator via phone and tried chatting with someone online, but all they could offer is trying a different day of service. I canceled after trying to resolve the situation to no avail, and have a appointment with a different glass company. They do not respect people's time or honor time-frames you schedule if they get busy. And you will not be informed until day of service about the change in scheduling. To use this service you might need to block your day from 8am-5pm. Take a close look at the response Safelite gave to this review. They have a AI bot managing there yelp review feedback too. Super sad safelite.

    I visited the Safelite location of Tukwila located at: 12600 Interurban Ave S, Bldg A Unit 170 Tukwila, WA 98168 United States In which I was treated respectfully. I brought my VW ID.4 to have the windshield replaced. By the time they proceed when connecting the car to the scan tool sadly it had a bunch of codes, I was told they will not be able to proceed until VW will clear the codes and provide the proper documentation about it as their company policy state due to liability. I took my car to the dealership at VW Bud Clary, they were able to eras de codes and generate the document needed for the windshield replacement, when Contacting Brandon from the Safelite location in Tukwila he was able to talk to my service agent at VW and they were able to sort out the situation. After waiting 2.5hrs at VW for the service I notice there was a Safelite location close to it: 420 37th St NW Unit B Auburn, WA 98001 United States I stop by to check if by any chance they had the windshield in stock since he Tukwila location had to order a new windshield since the once set aside for me had a chip. This is where everything went south as the gentlemen wasting in that location came to asses the damage on my windshield and proceed to tell me Safelite will not repair the car due to liability and policies. I share a more detail explanation and he continue to say the same thing ignoring the true concern I have and walkaway. After such brutal interaction I drove to the Tukwila location and share my experience, they put me at ease and share after looking the paperwork the dealer provided that they will perform the repair. BTW kiddos to Brandon, and Mick for such great customer service at that location. I will definitely say this, if you need Safelite service AVOID THIS LOCATION IN AUBURN: 420 37th St NW Unit B Auburn, WA 98001 United States and definitely go to the Safelite location in Tukwila: 12600 Interurban Ave S, Bldg A Unit 170 Tukwila, WA 98168 United States. I hope this save people the hassle and bittersweet experience this location will give you.

    STAY AWAY!!! Support a local glass company! Poor customer service, and poor service quality. They make excuses rather than acknowledging they failed. I will NEVER trust or recommend Safelite Autoglass! My windshield replacement with aftermarket resulted in missing parts like panel clips and a weather seal for the hood. The windshield was dirty on the inside, finger prints and an oily film, I had sticky sealant on my dash, they failed to recalibrate the camera so I had to drive around for a few weeks without my safety features until I got an OEM from Genuine Auto Glass and proper camera recalibration.

    What it should look like compared with the same vehicle at the dealer.

    Do you have to be home for them to change your windshield at your appointment?

    Hi Rhonda, thank you for your question. You do not need to be present for your service. However, the technician will need access to your keys/fob to complete your service.

    Hi, I had a windshield replaced. Eric did a great job. Although, he forgot to plug in my water hose and I don't have any tools to take plastic panel off to plug in the hose. Do I need to make an appointment?

WA state RCW states…read moreit's illegal to perform an unsafe & inproper windshield install as it introduces a safety hazard as it's considered part of the structural integrity of the vehicle in the event of a collision or roll over. We had them replace our windshield on our 99 Chevy Suburban 3/4/26. A rock had hit our windshield causing it to crack beyond repair, & we had told them there was a water leak by our rear view mirror. Upon picking up our car we noticed the windshield was no longer sitting flush & had nearly a 1/2 inch gap. And they left rust dust & dirt all over our dash, cd player, & gauges. They ensured us it was correct & if it leaked to bring it back as we have a lifetime warranty on the install. Within 1 hour of picking up our car it was leaking from the windshield in places it hadn't before due to the improper install. They told us to bring it back today at 10am & but we were only met with hostility. The male owner literally cussed my husband out refused to do the leak test threw our keys at my husband from across the room assaulting him, & told us to get out. My husband was calm the whole time. The female owner reluctantly stepped in & said she would do it while the male owner kept telling her not to. My husband asked if he could come back to watch her do the test & she angrily said no. So he watched her from the counter, while I watched her from parking lot as I had a direct view. She didn't even finish the leak test before she was slamming our car door into a ladder & it made us feel uncomfortable so my husband asked if he could have the keys back if she wasn't going to treat our vehicle with care. She started cussing him out telling us there's nothing wrong with their install & literally said, "if we didn't have a piece of shit car that's falling apart there wouldn't be an issue." She angrily came flying around the corner with our vehicle & got out cussing , yelling, & physically was up in my husband's face pointing fingers in his face, literally screaming at him. I walked over to try to calmly deescalate the situation & before I could even speak the male owner ran up to the door & locked us out. We had to call the police to assist & file a report. The officer even noted the gap was not appropriate. The owners REFUSED to let the officer watch the footage on their cameras, which he said people often do when they are in the wrong. They stole our money, giving us a bad install & refused to make it right, essentially voiding the lifetime guarentee they claim they have on all their work. When I booked it & asked if they guarantee their work Merle laughed & lied stating, "of course! We have a lifetime guarantee, the owner takes great pride in his work." They said everything they needed to to get our business but as soon as they had our vehicle they intentionally scammed us. They knew they did a bad install when they did the job & knew if they could say whatever they could to make us feel comfortable enough to pay & leave they wouldn't EVER have to make it right. We've already been told just based off of photos by 2 other local windshield repair businesses that their install is not only improper but an illegal install job requiring another windshield to be installed. We already scheduled an appointment to have their install inspected for documentation so we can file a complaint with the attorney general & a civil suit to get our money back since they refused to correct their improper install. DO NOT GIVE THESE THIEVES YOUR BUSINESS OR YOU RISK BEING SCAMMED AS WELL! Read the other reviews, ANYTIME they do something wrong the owners refuse to make it right, ripping people off seems to be his MO. We should have gone to LUCKY DOG in Kent, we hear they are the BEST, but this place was closer. BAD DECISION on our part.

    Two things ultimately lead me to a negative review, and I assure you, both are avoidable. 1) Did I…read moreget what I paid for. 2) Did the business make the situation right after the problem was brought to their attention. In this matter, the transaction should have been simple, I needed my windshield replaced. That means, I come in, you replace the windshield correctly and hopefully, I don't see you for a long while. None of that happened. Things did not start off well, but I will blame my insurance agent for 90% of the issue. I told them where I wanted to take my care, but they continued to push Safelite. They scheduled my service with Safelite and told me that the business I chose could have the claim transferred. When I came to Lucky Dog, they called the 3rd party State Farm uses and their computers were down and they advised they planned to be back online in less than 90 minutes. That meant Lucky Dog wasn't going to start service for 90 minutes despite me having an appointment. Not wanting to wait, I suggested they verify coverage with my agent despite already showing them my insurance card that denoted a $0 deductible. I felt challenged, like I wasn't being honest and what bothered me most is they told me service would take up to 3 hours. So why not start service and if there is any issue with payment, we work it out in the end. They refused to do so, so my service was delayed about an hour. Ok, not my business and I felt if Joe was being that thorough on payment, his people would be that thorough on installation. Service was complete and I left. I also noted I was not offered either of the two items they advertised with windshield replacement. It was a $25 refund or new wiper blades. Since I Just replaced the blades, I was going to request the $25 cash, but it wasn't offered. 2 days later, the rain began that lead to record flooding. I was driving and noticed I couldn't see. It was scary and dangerous, because visibility is the foundation for safe driving. I looked down and the wipers that are automated were in the auto mode. I turned them from auto to on and they began to work. Once home, I called Lucky Dog and scheduled to come back to have the system looked at. When I arrived there the following week, I asked for Joe, the owner, he was on the east cost according to staff. I also noticed a bubble where the windshield sensor was and I pointed that out to the tech. He drove the car, confirmed the auto wipers were not working and went to work. After about 90 minutes, he told me the system had been fixed and apologized the work wasn't done correctly the first time. Again, no offer for blade replacement or cash rebate was made. In the end, the work was not done correctly the first time. A serious safety issue was the result of it and none of the offers that came with service were offered and I had to take nearly 3 hours of my personal in pursuit or having them do what they failed to do on my original appointment. Lucky Dog got full payment, but did not provide the service or support I expected. And rather than take another 2 hours to drive back and talk to Joe, I felt my time would be better served leaving a detailed review. Mistakes happen, but as I say, the measure of a business is what they do when this transpires. I am not at all impressed with Lucky Dog and how this all shook out.
