Great value! Very personable company owner who responds promptly!! My car window was vandalized on a hotel parking lot (along with others) on a SUNDAY! (Could have been late Saturday night). I had to get a window, I did my research (with hopes a mobile unit could come out on Sunday). No luck. Monday, O was told I'd hear from the technician or give him a call after 8:30AM to know when I'd be on the schedule. Ahhhh, I'm thinking.....I called on Sunday Morning and paid for service I'm sure I'll be one of the first at least 2nd person on the list.... at 12 noon I'm wondering what the heck.... No text, no call (my phone was on)... I texted and the owner responded asap because o felt like I had been SCAMMED. I ended up calling the technician and he told me he was on his way to Illinois and then would be over after that job. At 3PM, I called the technician and told him I had a 4pm appointment and then another appointment and would leave my keys with the hotel clerks. At 7:45 pm, I still hadn't heard from the tech.. had he completed the job? Was the window replaced easily? I called to the hotel and was told the tech, just dropped off the keys!!! WTF (last one of the day)!?? I got back to my car at 8:20pm-ish to find that the window wasn't working correctly and I had to push the button a little at a time to make the window go up or down and all the way up would make the window slide back down!!!! WTFFFFF IS THIS???? Oh No, this just will NOT DO!!! what had I gotten myself into? I called the tech... no response. I called the tech again... no response... I videotaped the shenanigans!! And texted it to the company owner! He texted back, "Yes, xxxx made me aware. As a security feature, some of these Audis do this when the door has suffered a trauma. You'll just need to take it to a dealership and have the window motor reset electronically. Then it will operate normally." "I had this on my desk to contact you in the morning." WTF!!! Oh NOT TODAY BRUH! (Hence this review) Red flag #1: Unfortunately the communication with the technician was piss poor (no 2-3 time window given)... he may or may not call you. If you are at the location, he possibly will call when he arrives. Red flag #2: Technician is not educated to work on luxury vehicles Red flag #3: Excuses instead of education. Once I learned what the issue was (the car brain needed to be rebooted for the new window) it would have been nice for the tech to come back out and fix the issue. Instead I was given a lame excuse. It would have been great if the technician could have taken time to educate himself and tell me he'd get back to me once he learned how to repair the issue. But no. So, I went to the Glass Doctor and it took the guy less than a minute to fix the issue. Note to self.....stick with the Glass Doctor !!! Otherwise, the price is right with this company.... Just expect to wait ALL DAY with NO PHONE CALL waiting on a technician who does not care about your time! Plus you pay UPFRONT for the service. If you cancel, you pay $100! The dealership would have charged me an extra $500+ to look at the issue and fix it! Why be like that dealership. The window glass company was supposed to do it correctly the first go through and if not then send another knowledgeable technician to do the mobile service instead of having stressed me out and having me go to the dealership and another window company. First of all, Safe Auto's price to replace the cracked windshield on my old Tundra was $172 less than one of the other 2 bids I received. They were also around $80 less than the second bid. They did a great job. It was a totally seamless, no surprises, experience. Gave me a quote instantly. Scheduled my appointment for the next day. The technician texted me about 1/2 hour before their arrival at my house. The two technicians had my new windshield in, explained my follow-up, loaded my old windshield into their van, and were on their way in about 45 minutes. I was baffled by such a huge cost difference between the bids because I was told there is only one windshield made for a 2001 Tundra. read more
