Harrow VUE cinema is in the town center in St Georges shopping center…read more The cinema is on the top floor with a number of restaurants surrounding it. Its a 9 screen cinema. Watching a film here is comfortable, but could be better, sometimes the air-con can be toooo strong. The sound is also very good as well. The food and drink in cinema as you know is a bit expensive, but i like their popcorn, coz its tastes how it should be and i love their super sized coke. I've watched a numerous of blockbuster this year here, but I was really impressed when they showed the Olympics here for free, although at times it did cut out a few time and we had to wait for it to load. After experiencing the beauty of Westfields Stratford VUE, Harrow VUE needs to fix up Big Time! in terms of decor, plus their toilets are urh!! The transport to get to the cinema is well equipped with the train and bus station very near plus the shopping center car park. I go here because I have to but, if I had a choice then it will be a different story.

It's a shame that a film nominated for an academy award for it's Cinematography can be so easily butchered by a cinema chain who seemingly doesn't care about representing the artists work true to it's intentions. On top of the subpar projection, lights were left way too bright during the entire movie so it made it hard to concentrate on the film.

Ugh...that's the feeling I get whenever I venture near this place…read more... Service is soooo sloooooow especially as now you often have to buy your tickets from the food counters, so you have to wait ages while people decide what size bucket of coke they want... Once you're in the screens themselves things aren't too bad - sound and vision are generally of a good standard. The air-con is however overenthusiastic so if you're of a chilly disposition remember to take some warm clothes! The sign at the entrance of the ladies warns that "male and female cleaners service these facilities" but I have to conclude that neither had been near them for quite some time...at least four loos were out of order and most of the ones that weren't needed a darn good clean (I guess you have to point a large finger of blame at the manky people who don't know a) how to flush a toilet or b) that any more than about 20 sheets of loo paper is likely to lead to a serious blockage.... Added to the fact it's now damn expensive (£10.45 per adult to see the 3D Christmas Carol film) to go to the cinema I was reminded why I don't often bother these days. Far nicer to stay warm, have clean loos and cheap eats at home with a DVD!

Open just 2 weeks ago, picture house is a very welcome addition to the n8 area…read more This 5 screen cinema has a fully stocked upstairs and downstairs bar, loads of high end snacks, cakes and even a restaurant menu. The seats in the actual cinema are soft, warm and comfy with plenty of leg room. There's a sofa aisle in the middle and back of the cinema which you can book at no extra cost. I image they're the first to go though. Bad points: There are no tables inside the cinema so they don't recommend bringing in actual dishes from the restaurant side of the cinema. Snacks and drinks are seriously expensive (but no more than any other cinema). Tickets cost £13.50 plus a £1.50 booking fee.

This is review is mainly based on the fact that it is in Crouch End which is local to me. I say…read morethis because the area, though a cultural hub for many people in industry (peep show was filmed here, Shaun of Dead house not too far away, Gillian Anderson use to live here, amongst many others still in area) never really had a cinema to go to until the wonderfully small Arthouse came along. This picturehouse is one of many in the chain. I go to the newly opened Central one now quite a bit but this new one is now my closest. It has about 5-6 screens and I went to see Bridge of Spies on screen 4. The sound could have been a tad louder and I think there was not much surround sound. Saying that I mentioned this to manager and they mentioned it would in future. I went on officially it's 4th day of opening. I was told screen 5 is a favourite because it is intimate and has only about 26 seats. Cool. I asked to see screen 1, their prize biggest screen because i might see Star Wars there soon. The seats are like sofa seats. All of them. And there are double seats. The screen was higher than usual because they have a platform ready for future Q&A's. I will go see that screen but not sure it's best for something quite as epic as Star Wars. There's a nice cafe downstairs to people watch, and a main restaurant to see even better looking down upon Main Street. All in all. I liked my it's visit. Comfy, obviously clean and nice staff. Will be back for more to check other screens too. UPDATE - DEC '15: Checked out the brand new Crouch End PH. Kicking rainy Mondays onto the curb with it's cheap tickets! Steven Spielberg & Tom Hanks have made a great film with Bridge of Spies. Written by the Coen Brothers a real classic spy/war film. Love a bit of espionage! The cinema itself was lovely. Nicely laid out with cafe at bottom and many screens dotted around. I went into Screen 4 and it had good sound. Next time I will try for their main one.

You can watch a film without a child kicking the back of your chair or throwing popcorn about the place and you can get drinks and bar snacks served right to your seat. Brilliant! A great place to come with a date as the double-seats mean you can snuggle up to that special someone. Next time I want the even more luxurious seats at the back which looked more comfy than the average ones and I believe may even have had foot rests. A full bar and decent selection of sweet and savoury snacks. I love a glass of wine with my film so this place gets a huge thumbs up from me on that alone. It is expensive, but no more expensive than seeing a film at a cinema in Leicester Square and billion times better! They need more of these cinemas over London!

Cheap - it ain't £12-14 (dependant on reclining or not) and let's be frank, a bowl of chilli stuffed olives and rosemary mixed nuts or one sweet craving of white chocolate covered bananas with cocktails can set you back enough to skip dinner entirely, but I have seen some thoroughly exhausting movies here ( Brad Bitt becomes infant - cough cough), and leather reclining seats with mojitos made that experience something almost enjoyable. If I had one critique, it would be fairly obvious one as a former resident - more selection/invention/events please. Any possibility of an 'event' generally requires Baker or Hampstead here - but for an experience beyond movie watching that feels akin to first class lounging try it.

The recliners are comfortable and always clean, and the view of the screen is good regardless of where you are in the theatre. Sound is good as well. They could definitely improve the restrooms a bit - there aren't nearly enough stalls in the women's restroom for the capacity of the theatre. The lobby area is also a bit lacklustre. They also could increase the number of showings. Some films only have one or two times in a given day and it makes it tough to work within my schedule. With all that said, the cost of tickets on Mondays is a steal and I'll definitely be back.

Comparing to Leicester Sq., this is a much more chillaxing location without the hustle and bustle. Their popcorn is always fresh, and have the standard sweets selection. Additionally they have a lounge for those who wants to grab a "real drink", and for those who would rather have tea and coffee, Costa is also an option! Worth mentioning is the great (asian) food options nearby. No wonder this is my favorite date night movie place.
