For #ThankYouThursday, I must express my sincere gratitude to Sadie's. As soon as the SAH order came into effect, the studio was swift to responsibly cancel classes and close. No doubt, my heart sank when I heard the news. However, within the same week, they already had online classes available for us on Zoom! It was an adjustment at first, and still isn't the same as being in the studio with such positive people and cute dogs wandering around, but this is the next best thing, so I'll take it! Sadie's partnered with dancers and instructors from other studios, so they were able to offer a variety of classes everyday. Since March, I have had the pleasure of taking yoga, stretch & flexibility, conditioning, "core-ona," "pole yourself together," mixed level tricks, chair burlesque, and flowy floorwork with some renowned instructors in the LA area! Some folks don't have poles at home, so there are a number of classes that don't require one. Even less people have aerial hoops and silks, so these classes are currently not offered. Their website, sadiespole.com, and booking system allow for easy registration and the classes are a reasonable $10 or $50 a month for unlimited classes. Pretty good deal if you ask me! Yay! Found a great pole studio near me! Little bit of myself. I love active stuff. I've tried many dance classes, yoga, gym, chinese martial arts... I tried pole dancing for the for the first time few years ago because of my friend - she found a deal on Groupon and that was the beginning...since then I've tried 6-7 pole studios! These are the things I liked: -Cleanness - It's new, just opened last month and the place is very cute and clean! -Many classes day/night - They have work out classes too. While pole is really tough dancing, it's not cardio. So it's awesome they also offer yoga or work out classes! -Easy parking - tons of parking space in front. -Friendly people! - don't you get intimidated to come to pole class? I would! But not here. The owner and everyone is so friendly and welcome you. I'm a little bit of ADD, I can't do things more than 1-2 hours even my hobbies including surfing - but today I stayed 4 HOURS!!! This is the most I danced ever! That's because I was having a good time. I wrote on the tip section also... it's hard to find - there is no sign. But if you use google map, and if it says you got to the destination, yes it is right. Just drive all the way to the back and you will find a door #11 and cute area, and then you know you are at the right place. Laura is such a friendly, talented and patient instructor who makes any dancer, despite level, feel welcomed and comfortable. I went to my very first class recently and now I'm hooked- if you are a first timer I highly suggest taking the Intro to Pole class on Fridays at 7pm. You will LOVE IT. Some tips: 1. Location: It is a bit hard to find as there is no sign. (No sign at the door nor on the street) . It is located at the very end unit. Luckily, it didn't take long for me to find. 2. Wardrobe: Shorts and tank top work best for me. Leg warmers help with some sliding moves. 3. First class is free :) I've taken only a few intro classes so far and I can only say positive things about the studio. Laura is so friendly and approachable, I felt at home immediately. And the dogs (I'm a dog person) helped me feel comfortable. They are both adorable and sometime they chill around you during class. And I like how the classes (the ones I went to) are all-girls. It feels like a girl camp. Laura's teaching is motivating and fun at the same time. The classes encourage me to become strong and artistic. They work my arms and hand grip a lot and overall good body workout. I always feel energized and strong after class. Right now intro classes are on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. read more

I love all of the amazing teachers here at Sadie's pool gym. I've been going here for about a year now and out of all the studios in the area, Sadie's definitely builds an inclusive community. Laura is great and easy to talk to, and all classes are pretty small so you get one on one time with the instructors. I used to be shy about my body and thought that I needed to lose a lot of weight in order to be sexy, but I learned through my Pole classes at Sadie's that anyone can find their sexy. I have tried their aerial classes as well and would like to take more, and their schedule is always expanding with new instructors. I have also taken workshops with traveling dancers and every time I go, I feel that I learn something new and valuable. I love the studio and plan to continue going here for the rest of my Pole career in Los Angeles. read more

2.5 stars.I struggled a bit to write a review for this place, since I want to be fair, but also honest. Taking a step back, when you are a regular at a studio you tend to cut people slack when things are a bit off, because on average, things are fine. I say this, because when I was writing down what bothered me about my visit, I was also thinking in my head that those things wouldn't be that big of a deal if I was a regular, versus a visitor. And I know there is always that initial stress of visiting a new studio and working out the kinks... The class: I took Mixed Aerial Apparatus. We did hammock and silks (student to apparatus ratio was 2:1). The ceilings weren't insanely high, but there were alright (maybe a little lower than Cirque School LA, higher than Jagged and Evolve Dance Studio). I think the tissu was low/no-stretch. The class and instructor itself was fine: warm-up, some conditioning, switch between hammock and silks, cool down. I liked the instructor; the instructor spotted and explained things well (she had a very lyrical voice when she spoke). We rotated between the two apparatuses doing the same combos, (get as far through the combo as you feel comfortable with). The other students and instructors were generally friendly and welcoming. If I was reviewing just class content, I'd probably give it 4 stars. I found it challenging to get there. In Sadie's defense, I found out later there are very specific directions on how to find the studio on their website. That's nice, but it's presumptive to assume that people will automatically go to your website and read your hints when they sign-up for a class. To get there, if you are heading north on Inglewood Ave, note that there is no center divider to make a left turn into the parking lot entrance, and traffic can be pretty heavy. If you want to be that person holding up traffic while you wait to turn... well that is up to you. If you miss your left turn, there are a couple of no-U turn signs afterwards, so it's best to turn around at Petco/Vons. Afterwards don't get into the furthest right lane, since it is a right-only lane and turns before your entrance. The parking lot entrance occurs immediately after the railroad on your right. The entrance is a bit inconspicuously hidden and is a sharp v-turn. There will be no sign. If you are in the parking lot of Havana Mania and the 99 cent store, you've missed it. If you at the road behind the warehouse, that's the loading deck of the 99cent store, and that's not where the studio is either. Depending on when you come, the parking lot can be deserted. It may appear that the warehouses end at the metal fence, but Sadie's is at #11 and #12 all the way at the end, BEHIND the fence. Go ahead and roll the fence ajar and head into either of the two studios. The outside of the studio has a camper and grass. I understand there are dogs about, so you have to keep the fence closed. However, put yourself in my shoes. People walk to the end of the lot and see a closed metal fence, and the last door is #10 with some chemical warning sign. When I arrived at the studio that night, the doors were closed, so light wasn't exactly coming out of them to indicate anyone was there. People don't automatically go exploring and drag open random metal fences in a warehouse @night, especially for buildings that have no signs. I went back to my car until I happened to see someone else come and open/close the fence. But honestly, the first time I came here, from the time my GPS said "You've arrived" to when I was actually peering through the fence, took 15minutes to find; finding this place is completely unobvious. And for the dogs... you lucked out, I like dogs. But I had no idea that this place was partially set-up as a doggy day care, and that there would be puppies roaming about in the studio during class. It's an interesting concept and I applaud that, but what if I had been allergic? What if I don't want to warm-up next to a German Shepherd? Yes, the dogs were mostly well behaved; there was minimal puppies walking on yoga mats and minimal barking. But the dog per square footage hanging out while we were warming up, made for kind of a crazy environment. Besides being hard to find. Couple that, with the fact that they cancelled on me the first time I signed up for a class (no email, no phone call) so I was completely lost and with no one answering the phone. And when I finally did get to take a class on another day, I entered the room to a bunch of dogs... The whole thing was honestly a bit overwhelming. Like I mentioned, these issues are probably not that big of a deal in the long-run: once you figure out how to find this place, you're good. And lots of aerial/pole studios have dogs (though probably not a pack of roaming dogs). I didn't hate the class, but I am keen to point out that the barriers of entry, to figuring this place out the first time, are quite high. read more

. If I could give zero stars I would. I called the studio to find out how full a class is. Called for 2 days, no answer or machine nothing. Emailed the studio, no answer. Doesn't look like they care 1 bit about their business or clients. Here I am WANTING to take a class, but I have questions, no service what-so- ever. I fearful of 1) a class being too full ( I don't want to share a pole) 2) class cancellation due to lack of students. If I had signed up for a class and it had cancelled, I doubt ANYONE would bother to let me know at all, since, I haven't had 1 bit of service from them. I recommend finding another studio that CARES about their business/ clients. read more

It was a little hard to find the first time, and it's a little hard to get into. Once you do, you are in great hands. No matter if you're a cast member of Cirque De Soleil, or just have to get your body back. This is so fun. I loathe the gym, so I avoid it like the plague. Regardless of how bad I am at most of these things, it's no mind to Laura the owner, her teachers, or any of your classmates. It is shockingly difficult to do tricks on silks or even spin around a pole. But you will. You have to work to be fabulous. You see it in your progress, and best of all your body. Laura has set up a vibe of empowerment, not competition. Come here, it's great. read more

Sadie's is AMAZING!! I love the atmosphere the teachers create and vibe of the studio. It is clean and they provide mats and towels that can be cleaned and reused. I've been taking for a month now and I have to say they just create such a great atmosphere to grow and challenge yourself. Priscilla is a great teacher btw!! My absolute FAVORITE pole studio! The studio itself is gorgeous! Tall ceilings, natural lighting, cozy loft, beautiful wood floors, spacious front patio with sitting area, AND dog friendly! Laura is amazing. From interval training to sexy choreography and tricks; she does it all. Definitely a unique studio with a lot to offer it's students: nutrition seminars, yoga, interval training, choreography, competition training, flexibility, and even knitting sessions! :) Most importantly, I feel very comfortable and at home when I am at Sadie's. Drove all the way down here from west LA on christmas eve and the place was closed! Two other girls that showed up drove far and out of their way to get here and we just waited for good 15-20 minutes or so in the cold hoping someone would show up. Beware if you book a class through class pass...second time they cancelled class on me this time without notification so I drove all the way there to find doors locked and wasted my Friday night. The first time I booked was in May for a Hammock class I showed up to find a private pole rehearsal in session where I met the owner Laura who told me that she had emailed me so I went home and checked email and there was an email to tell me class was cancelled which I missed so was partially my fault. Laura offered me a free class in the email which I responded to let me know the details but she never responded back. Flash forward to this week I had to use up my 10 classes for the month so decided to give this place another shot and made sure to check my emails this time in case they cancelled but no emails so imagine my disappointment driving all the way there and finding out once again class was cancelled. read more

I LOVE Sadies!!!! So one day I was thinking .. i should found a hobby something fun to unwind after a long day of work and pole dancing came to my mind! So I started my research and I found Sadies and when I saw the are pet friendly i was sold ! I like to spend as much time as u can with my dog and this was a great way to pole dance and have my dog have fun too! So I got there a bit scared since I don't have any dancing experience and I'm not flexible at all!!! Have to say Laura was so nice and warm and makes u feel so comfortable and takes a lot of time making sure u get it!!! And all the girls Lyssa , Annika , reiko, kiersen are very patient and don't mind helping u and making sube u have a great time ! I been a regular for 6 months and u have to say I can do pretty cool moves in the pole and my flexibility is so much better!!! This studio is awesome. I came in super nervous because I had no idea what I was doing but the teacher and the owner were so freaking warm and friendly towards me that I immediately felt comfortable. This is not a stuck up place at all, and there were people in my class of all different skill levels so I wasn't the only one at a more beginner level. I'm so happy I came here. The workout was great because I worked a lot of muscles that I've never really worked before in other workout classes and that's exactly what I was lookin for. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. I love the idea of having dogs around. I love how the ceiling is so high because it allows the poles to be longer, giving us the opportunity to climb high. So at first when I went in I thought, this is cute. They have a cute space, and enthusiastic instructors. What made me drop my rating from a 4 or 5 to a 2 is that they have dogs who run around outside, and in the middle of class they ran in. This happened not once but TWICE. That is completely unprofessional! If you want to have dogs here that's fine but someone needs to watch them or keep them shut away during classes so no one steps on one of them accidentally! read more
