Placed an online order and I have to say the process was quick. Ordered some crab cakes, a popcorn…read moreshrimp kids meal and a crawfish etouffee combo. To start off the staff was very friendly and packed everything nicely for me, with all the necessary sauces. The crab cakes were delicious, crispy on the outside and very well seasoned. The crawfish etouffee combo was delicious. So good my husband forgot to share. The shrimp kids meal was a nice size and was so good We'll definitely return next time I'm in the area

This review is on Frilly's lunch special…read more I stopped by Frilly's one Friday on my way back from the casino with a couple of friends. Their family is from Louisiana and they wanted Cajun food so we decided to try Frilly's since they had good yelp reviews. We arrived around 2:40 and decided to try the lunch special. I got the lunch crawfish combo. The price of $12.99 was very affordable. We ordered and were quickly seated. The service overall was good. We got our own water and got our food pretty quickly. The ambiance is casual sports family feel. I was excited with the quantity of food I got for the price. I got a large quantity of fried crawfish, crawfish étouffée, and dirty rice. The fried crawfish was tasty. The dirty rice was ok. I've definitely had better dirty rice with more flavor and more of a gravy with it. I also thought the étouffée was tasty but added a little hot sauce. Overall I liked Frilly's and would definitely return for the lunch special.

Teriyaki Madness Denton -- officially cured my noodle craving!…read more I've been craving noodles for days, and Teriyaki Madness came through like a hero. We ordered a regular spicy chicken (noki-style) with noodles turned combo (plus a drink and egg roll), the regular teriyaki salmon with noodles and veggies, and of course had to throw in crab rangoons and wontons -- because balance. Everything was so good. The chicken had that perfect spicy kick, the salmon was tender and flavorful, and the noodles were pure comfort food perfection. You can tell everything's cooked fresh, not sitting under a heat lamp somewhere. The portions? Generous. The flavor? Addictive. The satisfaction level? 11/10. If you're in Denton and craving something that hits that sweet spot between fast and actually delicious, this is your sign -- go get the noodles.

I had the teriyaki chicken bowl with fried rice and stir-fried veggies, plus an order of crab rangoons to start. The rangoons were a surprise hit--they looked more like mini tacos or empanadas, perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Total comfort food. The chicken had a little more char than I prefer on some pieces, but it was still juicy, and I'm chalking that up to new-opening kinks. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, even if they were still working through some early hiccups. There was a bit of confusion when we tried to use a BOGO entrée coupon from their app, but they stuck with it until it got sorted out. Once we were settled with our food, multiple team members came by to check in, which was a nice touch and showed they care about the customer experience. As for the space, the interior is small, and we ended up at the last 2-top table in the hallway by the drink station and restrooms, which sounds worse than it was. It actually wasn't bad, and the whole place had a clean, casual vibe. The prices were fair, and the portion sizes were just right, not too much, not too little. Like Goldilocks, it hit the sweet spot. I'm definitely looking forward to going back once they've had time to fully hit their stride!

The problem we had wasn't necessarily with the service, although it was quite slow considering that there weren't very many other tables occupied. The main problem was with the quality of the food and drinks. I thought the gator kickers were good, and the Cajun fries were hot and crispy, so things started well, but it went south with our first round of drinks. Two people ordered beer - 1 draft beer and 1 longneck, and both tasted terribly skunky. We sent those back and just switched to water. When our food arrived, everything was hot and presented well ... until I noticed that several crawfish tails in my etoufee were dark gray. Im not talking about a vein running through it, but the full tail looked like a rotted toe. I had eaten several bites of it and it was seasoned well, but I stopped when I noticed the first dark gray tail. I looked through and saw a couple other gray ones and stopped eating. The icing on the cake was when the waitress took the 3/4 full beers away and bumped the table with the water pitcher, pouring water on the table, the seat next to me and down my leg, soaking my shorts and sock. Accidents happen, I get it, but she didn't apologize, offer me a towel or anything. We had to waive her down after not seeing her for almost 15 minutes just to get our check, so I guess the service wasn't very good either. This was our first time visiting, and we won't be back. I give 2 stars instead of 1 just because I liked the gator kickers.
