Good Life Construction

Also...for the first two projects we got quotes from other companies and Good Life was the best. For the third project we didn't bother looking around. Jason has been our main point of contact, and he is absolutely amazing. He is a great communicator, always comes up with smart solutions to any issue, and genuinely cares about the quality of the finished product. His customer service is top-notch. On top of that, the guys on-site, Yaro and Everett, were both fantastic to work with and did incredible work. Even the staff answering the phones are helpful and friendly every time you call. They work fast and actually stick to the schedule, but the main thing that sets them apart is their honesty. I think it's rare to find a contractor you can 100% trust, but they have earned that trust completely. We love this company and will absolutely keep using them for all our future projects!

1 Star: The Patio Looks Nice, but That's About It!…read more While I will admit that the finished patio looks nice, that is honestly the only positive thing I can say about my experience with this construction company. The construction has been ongoing for months at Greenhaven Oaks Apartments, and the lack of professionalism, communication, and respect for residents' personal property has been extremely disappointing. During construction, workers damaged my children's belongings, including my daughter's baby carriage and my child's bicycle. Nobody even had the decency to notify me that my child's bike had been broken. They also put a hole through my living room wall, which was eventually patched but left unpainted and unfinished. What is especially frustrating is what happened to my children's recycling. I have been teaching my kids responsibility by having them sort and separate our recyclables on their own. They worked hard to organize everything, separating the materials and bagging them up properly. We had seven bags of recyclables ready to go. The following weekend, we lost access to our backyard because of the construction, and we still have not regained access. Now, only one bag of glass bottles remains. I have no idea what happened to everything else. This was not just a pile of recyclables. It was something my children took the time and effort to organize as part of learning responsibility, and now their hard work has essentially disappeared without any explanation. I have already reported these issues to my apartment management, including the damaged baby carriage. A nice-looking patio does not excuse damaged property, missing belongings, poor communication, or a complete lack of accountability. Residents should not have to discover damage to their belongings or repeatedly complain just to have their concerns acknowledged. At the end of the day, the patio may look good, but the way this company treated residents and their belongings was anything but professional. The finished product might deserve five stars, but the overall experience deserves one.

I have done a lot of work over the years and am happy to say that if you live in this area, he is your guy. He was fair and honest from the get go. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. I never received any surprise "change orders". As contractors go, Omar was VERY open and communicative. No problems ever getting him or his crew on the phone. He had great suggestions on all things we discussed. Always seemed to know a lot about his work and various things people like. The project was a big one, and I am super happy with how fast it went. He even got started for us over Thanksgiving and Xmas, and his crew would show up on Saturday or Sunday sometimes to keep on working (which was fine with us!). There were no subcontractors involved... everything was through Noor Construction. If we had any minor issues that needed correcting, Omar would come and look at it and tell his crew what to do. We really appreciate the details, crown molding and trim was superbly done, and the tile was just amazing, we are very impressed with his team. I mean seriously anyone who has attempted to do crown molding in the past knows what I am talking about. For details if you've made it this far, our story: Where shall I start. I suppose we start with the idea: build a bedroom in the second floor space of our "great room" which has really tall ceilings... like 30 feet plus. So basically add a bedroom in the second story "empty space" above the first floor. Easy right? Well, after getting ghosted by several contractors, I finally called Omar. He informed he thought we were probably getting ghosted because the architect had told him that footings were needed to support this new bedroom which would be sort of like an island in the middle of the house. We live on a hill, so these support columns would have to go through the first floor, basement, and then under the house. This added to the cost, but we really wanted a bedroom in that space. Omar gave me a price. I told him no thanks, my wife and I thought well maybe we changed our mind as the cost came in higher with the footing work. After a few weeks, we talked it over, changed our minds. We really needed the bedroom. I called him, thinking "gosh he probably won't want our work". Omar came back, no change in price, same deal as before, he didn't even bat an eye, he was ready to go, and this was like 4 weeks later after I told him no. So yea, it was project that I was told was too much for people, everyone didn't want to go get permits or deal with the footings... Omar told us what to expect and stuck to the plan. He dealt with the County and the inspector always came and said even himself "these guys know what they are doing". We passed all inspections. Omar even was super flexible about adding things to the project as we went along, as you know I get ideas about what I might want, we added some carpeting and shelving, and additional tile work that he added at no additional cost to him. He really just knows what he is doing and is super on top of things. So go with Noor Construction if you have the chance, you won't regret it!

I've called several contractors to come check it out and results were either 1.) we don't do pocket doors 2.)they come and see if and couldn't figure it out on how they would fix it, or 3.) they wouldn't show up. I come across Fearn Woodworks and they were very responsive to calls and e-mail, actually showed up for the consultation, looked at it and knew within minutes of how he would fix it. Took a couple weeks to order parts, then showed up with his buddy Mike, and not only fixed the broken doors, but also touched up other loose handles and even got another door to close shut (it never closed, but didn't bother me). They're a husband and wife team for now and If I could keep them a secret so they don't get too busy and I get them all to myself, I would, but I wouldn't do that to them. Also, they're really nice people so that's always a plus!

We scheduled a time for Andy come out to take a look at the project and they were able to provide a competitive quote within a week. After that, all that was left to do was to schedule the install. They had an opening that next week and Andy was able to install the new door, all of the casings/trim, and a new deadbolt and handle without any issues in about 4 hours. Payment was also super easy through their electronic system so I didn't have to have a check on hand and the receipt came straight to my inbox. We're absolutely THRILLED with our new door and would recommend Fearn Woodworks if you have a similar project.
