I was recommended this place by AutoZone down the street and looked it up on Yelp and was impressed by the 5* reviews. I attempted to contact this place and got a message that they were closed for the holidays. I waited for the return date and the "out of the office" message was still on. I sent an e-mail that day and identified the work needed and did not receive a response. The next day the normal message was on that said they were too busy to answer the phone and send a text to a specific number. I texted that number and received no response. The next day I left a voice message stating that I have texted and e-mailed and again no response. It must be a great problem to be so busy that you turn away prospective customers by not responding to inquiries. One star. No service performed. read more

I appreciate the ability to text them about appointments and needs. They've been my mechanics since I moved to SoCal about ten years ago. They've always been incredibly communicative and clear about things that need doing right away, and what can wait. They've rescued me from schemes at my local Kia dealership (Riverside Kia, I'm looking at you), and are always happy to explain what they're doing and how my vehicle works. I also appreciate that they don't patronize me as a woman (something I've experienced with too many mechanics before). One note: some of the people in the shop smoke, and you can smell it in the office from time to time. Great customer service. I came here with my whole family to get our car's oil change and a transmission liquid change. It was all done for less than $150. It was so cheap. The staff was so kind to put up with us too. Especially since we basically took over their whole waiting area when we were waiting for our car to be done. I called them up based on the reviews here on Yelp inquiring about rebuilding a transmission for an 2004 Monte Carlo. The guy who answered the phone took down my info and said he would be calling me back in 15 minutes with a price. 30 minutes passed and he still hadn't returned my phone call with a price. I called back and asked if he had found out a price, he asked me to give him just a few more minutes.... A few more minutes turned into never! He never returned my phone call! I dropped my Expedition off around 8:30am for Plugs, Coils, and an oil change. They took care of it all and called to tell me it was ready by 2pm! Fast, excellent, and clean work. I can not thank Sacto Auto Repair enough. These guys know their stuff and will never suggest fixing anything that isn't broken. I had my clutch done here 5 years ago(90k) and now on my second kit(184k), throw bearing was jacked up, and here I am freaking out that my tranny was going out and all I needed was another kit, phew. They did all my service maintenance, replaced motor mount, belts, and some other misc stuff. Tom does an excellent honest work and provides the best customer service in Riverside County, hands down.
