Our lives over the last year has been one of chaos so I wanted to treat us to something that was the opposite of that. When we arrived we sat in a waiting room and shortly after was escorted by an attendant to our room. He gave us all the info we needed for the experience and was our go to person if we ever needed anything. I like how they provide you water for after you get out of the mud. Reason being is that you'll be warm. The closer your body is to the bottom, the warmer it gets. Whoever is assisting will advise you of that. So just like you would hydrate after a massage, make sure you do that too here. When your time with the mud is done, you take a shower and then soak in a slightly warm hot tub. I stress slightly warm because it I was at first worried that it would be too much warmth after the mudbath. I'm glad that it was at a perfect temperature. Finally after you your hot tub time, you are shown to a small room where you can lie down and rest. It's very quiet and nice for a power nap if you are in the mood for that thing. I sure was. The whole experience was amazing. I think Golden Haven is your best bang for your buck. The facility was very clean and the people working there were very sweet and knowledgeable. It's so funny how in order to get clean sometimes you gotta get dirty. I suppose that's one of the beauties of mother earth.

The sauna is also communal. One drawback is that the restroom and locker room area did not seem to have separated male/female spaces. Luckily, we had the place to ourselves besides some older women, so it was not an issue. However, I would not have loved it had it been busier. It's a small space, so heads up on that if you're going. Overall, this was a fun and unique experience to do in Mendocino. It was very relaxing and peaceful, and the price was decent for the service.
