Fish Tacos
Jenna P.

Sacrament has one shining star on the menu, and it's the fish tacos. I've had them multiple times, and they're honestly a staple for me. The white fish is tender, chopped, and mixed with little bits of crispy batter in each bite. Topped with that avocado salsa? Very impressive for a bar/brewery menu! I'd come back for the tacos alone. That said, it's hard to ignore that this place is a brewery, and the beer is really disappointing. Hence the three stars ): Everything I've tried has a kind of generic, flat taste. Nothing memorable, nothing I'd order again. It's disappointing, especially if you're hoping to enjoy a good beer with your meal.

I have waited over a month and read some of the other recent reviews before writing this one to make sure I wasn't just in my head about some stuff. The service we received here was SO up and down, mostly down. It was by accident that we came to eat here. I am still unsure if the rooftop restaurant here is a different business or part of the same one. However, that's where we wanted to go originally.Because it was closed. We ended up eating here in the downstairs bar.We were greeted right away and explained that the rooftop lounge was up the stairs and didnt open for an hour. We were politely offered a place to sit and wait and have a drink until they opened. The bar was clear and inviting. The set up here works. Not a bad looking place. Instead of taking a table, we opted to sit at the bar. As soon as we sat down the bartender literally threw two coasters at us and asked us if we needed a menu. We told him this was our first time here. And yes, we did indeed need to take a look at a menu.He handed us two menus and literally ten seconds later asked what we wanted when we looked at each other he said...do you need a moment which we did. Literally a minute later, he came back and asked if we had made a decision. We still have the menus in our hands. And we were still looking at the selections so yes, we needed some more time. A couple minutes passed and we put the menus down and waited for him to come back to take our order. But this time, about 1015 minutes passed. And he did not acknowledge us, though he did walk past several times in the meantime, he spent his time talking to other workers talking to customers at the front of the bar. But ignoring us another bartender came up to us and said if we needed help, and we did, we gave her the order. And she got it started for us. It's still another 10 minutes. Our original bartender came up and he asked if we had made a decision. We had told him that somebody had already taken our order. And he left. This man was so standoffish. He would rank as one of the worst servers I have ever dealt with. It seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder. And either did not like me or my companion, but there was something off as when we were watching him interact with other customers. He was totally engaged with some yet. He did also ignore others. More issues arrived when the food finally showed up. The jalapeno paupers= were dense and they were not very good. The burger also was dense and not very good. We didn't order anything else other than these 2. Items in which we shared, I had water to drink. And my water cup sat empty for most of the meal. When the hostess finally walked by and asked if I needed more water, I said, yes, instead of refilling my cup or bringing me another glass. You brought me a plastic cup of water with no ice pricing. Here is also on the higher side. For what you're receiving, I do not recommend this place based off of this one experience though reading other reviews. It seems I have a singular viewpoint. Point of what the service is like here and others gloat over it.I didn't see that on this one occasion

Sacrament is my go to place when I want to take my out of town friends out to eat and grab a drink. The location is downtown and close to entertainment. The fish tacos are my favorite food to order becIse of all the fresh toppings.

Me and my co workers came here for lunch. When we entered the restaurant we were seated and served by the waitress. We looked over the menu and went up to the register to order. I ordered the turkey melt sandwich with fries. The sandwich was phenomenal and the fries were delicious. The service was friendly and very helpful. The ambiance is very customer friendly. A great place to go watch sporting events, have great drinks and food.

Can't say how many times I have passed by this place but so glad I finally took the time to stop in. My partner in crime and I wanted to catch a rooftop vibe on a beautiful Sacramento Saturday but to our disappointment the upstairs establishment didn't open until later. We did however decide to enjoy this place and it did not disappoint. Much to our surprise this location has two or three different establishments ( the rooftop is a different business). I digress.... After deciding to stay I noticed some people on the patio had flights, so I decided to go with the crowd and enjoy one as well. I told the server what type of beer/cider I enjoy and her recommendation did not disappoint. Kind of bummed I didn't pay attention to what I was drinking but overall, the vibe was great, the beer was 10/10 and I look forward to returning.

We had a nice brunch on a Sunday morning in Sacramento, after that we wanted to watch the Sunday football games . My girlfriend took us here and it was the perfect spot for Sunday game day ! Walking in it was decorated really nice with TV's everywhere and a huge bar in the middle is it all . They are a brewery so they have their own beers but , they also offer other beers on tap . They also have wine and cocktails. We had just ate so we did not order any food that day . We really enjoyed watching the Sunday games here . The staff was really nice and attentive. Overall I would definitely be back it was a fun time .

I am in the Sacramento area at least once a month to visit the Viewpoint Gallery. We always have a meal either before or after the show and reception. They seemed to be closed on Sundays during the pandemic. I am not sure if they were open other days, however, they are open now with a more limited food menu and a full beer menu and cocktails. You order at the bar and they being the food to your table. They have outdoor dining. We also have eaten on the roof, I am not sure if this is open, they don't seem to have much of wait staff midday on the weekend. My go to on the current menu is either tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich or the spicy bacon cheese burger. The burger is served with fries and a pickle spear. There are a lot of jalapeno slices on bun. I usually take some of them off, I like peppers, but I want to taste the meat. The burger is enough for two meals. They ask how you would like the meat cooked; my rare was not really that rare. The soup and sandwich is also enough for two meals I only order it when I am hungry, soup is too hard to take home and so is the sandwich and came with fries or a salad. On our last visit K had fish and chips he said one piece was over cooked and the other was fine. We also ordered poppers I like the, the dipping sauces was very thin. There was enough of it for me to dip my fries into I am not a beer drinker I usually have a Manhattan. It looks to me that they have and extensive beer menu. K. enjoys the Sac-Religious beer.

I really want to love this place because it has a cool setup and it's in a convenient location, but it just feels like it's missing something. The food is extremely meh. The beer and service are fine. The rooftop is cool but not open very often.

As a flight attendant just in town for a layover, this place is a gem! I always love to find a good brewery and it checked all the boxes. The burger was huge and delicious and the fries were perfectly crunchy and seasoned well. Maybe the best Blonde I've ever had. Will be coming back for sure if I get another layover! On top of the food, the service was wonderful. Great bartender and the manager even came outside to check on me.

This is a funny place for me as I've been here more than a few times, yet I don't have a favorite beer or food item but not because I don't like the food or the beer but because the more things I try the more things I had to my favorites list at this incredible brewery. This particular visit was on a Tuesday and they have a great pint beer special on Mondays and Tuesdays with $5 select pints all day. On this day we decided to go with Weird is the new Normal-a West Coast IPA($5.00) & a Luna De Miel-a Mexican Amber($5.00). Both beers were very refreshing and went down super easy and I've added both to my "will order again " list. For food I ended up ordering Brisket Tacos ($14.00) off the appetizer list and a Pulled Pork Sandwich($17.00) off the sandwich list. I upgraded my fries to Garlic Fries for an additional fee-I think $1 but not sure as I was being treated that day. This is the kid of place where u walk up to counter and place an order for your beer and food then they give u a number and will bring your grub out to ya at whatever table u can find. They have both indoor and outside seating-I prefer outside seating this time of year. Food was delivered very fast-in under 10 minutes. Brisket Tacos were super simple but still wonderful -really soft tortilla with a nice chew and flavor topped with their famous juicy tender perfectly flavored brisket with onions and cilantro as a topper-they are excellent because of the quality of the brisket. 8.8/10 Pulled Pork Sandwich was the item that stood out that day-pulled pork was smoked perfectly and smothered with a perfect amount of their BBQ sauce and one of their famous onion rings is in the sandwich also topped with BBQ sauce. The bun they use was so soft and meshed perfectly with the soft tasty bite of the pulled pork. 9.4/10 I really do love all of my visits to Urban Roots as every visit has been positive-I've recommended this place to many of my friends who visit from out of town for a high quality yet casual dining experience & if that isn't enough of a recommendation, the day I visited was my actual birthday and this was the place I choose to celebrate-I love this place that much.

We started with the shishito peppers, which were great and came with a really memorable miso aioli that was very addictive with a hint of lemon. We also got the "Fun Guy" pizza to share and made the mistake of removing the goat cheese, which I think hurt it. The crust was excellent and the toppings were fresh, but it felt like it was missing that salty, funky balance the goat cheese would've added. Still very good, but that one's on me. I'd definitely get it as intended next time. One of my favorite breweries, especially with so many having closed over the past few years. Cheers to them.

It happens. My friend was going to log into DMV just so she can show a valid ID the bartender but another woman working came up exclaiming they can not accept that and she will not get a drink. My friend did not argue about it and my other friend and I got our beers and sat down. We just wanted to spend time and catch up. My friend with the expired ID did not even take a sip of any drinks and respected the policy, the woman that we talked to earlier about the ids then proceeded to come up to us and say that we were sharing drinks, yelling and being very hostile. We were all confused because in no way, my friend even touched or drank any of the drinks. She insisted to call the cops. We then asked her if she had any evidence such as video footage and she said she did not have any access to that and she did not have footage. She said we were breaking the law and she will get the police involved for underage drinking. She was being extremely hostile. THANK YOU BY THE WAY SHE IS IN HER 30s BUT BESIDE THE POINT THEY REFUSED TO PULL UP THE FOOTAGE AND CORNERED US WHEN WE WERE DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. We even encouraged to call the police then she started back tracking. Their lead came in. We again, asked for the footage and he then, unrelated, said they are on the verge of closing rather than taking any form of accountability or apologizing for how his colleague was treating us. We asked for a refund and would leave, we were so uncomfortable. He then proceeded to say we did not pay for the drinks and I had to pull up my credit card statement to even prove it, which is absolutely ridiculous. I got our drinks and paid/ closed the tab before even sitting down. We asked to talk to a manager again. Mind you, we asked previously, and got the lead. The manager just asked if we were from the Bay and shook our hands instead of actually doing anything about the situation. I saw her hug the woman that was accusing after we were leaving which is absolutely ridiculous. Why would you encourage that type of behavior to your staff. Profiling in 2025 is insane. I feel bad for my friends. I feel extremely uncomfortable. Discriminating and accusing just because we are the only POCs in the room is so embarrassing. Foods and drinks are decent size and good price. Service is pretty fast. I recommend their IPA and seltzer. For foods: pizza is their best. It was thin crust and plenty of condiments, served warm. Parking: free limited street parking Restroom: decent Ambience: casual

Fun West Sac hangout place!!…read more Parking: moderately difficult (metered, popular area) Ambience: 10/10: live music, outdoor under the open sky, super relaxing. Great crowd and overall flow. Entry: there's a line for ID check and wristbands, but it moves quickly. Restrooms: clean, 5 stalls per gender with plenty of sinks. No line when I went. Seating: mostly outdoor. Options include long canopy tables (fits: 6-8 people) or fireplace seating (extra $10). The building itself has really interesting architecture: loved it. There's also a small indoor area called "The Wing" with a nice bar and fun photo props. Service: ordering is done via QR code at your table and paid upfront. Food comes out fast (5-10 minutes). One hiccup: they dropped another table's pizzas at ours without confirming, and sauces cost extra, even basic ones like hot sauce have to be ordered online. Food & drinks: burgers, pizza, wings, fries. Drinks: beers and ciders. Highly recommend the lavender lemonade. Overall: great spot for casual hangouts with friends: definitely a fun place to bring guests.

Drakes the barn is an amazing spot to get some beers, take the family, enjoy the music and vibes…read more My wife and I are on a road trip and this was a stop to meet up with one of my brothers in law. We came it to just enjoy a quick beer and head out. The open space and kind of camp out vibe was amazing. If it's hot try to grab a space with shade otherwise you would get cooked. They have fire pits and games so you really can't go wrong. The food was ok, we got a pizza and the lemon hummus with veggies. The pizza was decent but the flour on the bottom took away the flavor. Mind you I love that they to woodfire pizza, I make woodfire pizza at home but ya just gatta watch the flour underneath to not lose the flavor or the crispness of the dough. The hummus was ok, I was hoping for a more lemony flavor and the veggies were cut really thin. As far as bang for you buck it was ok. They had women great beers and drinks on then menu so honestly the environment is set up for vibes. The food could use a little more love but honestly it's a great spot because in the end ... decent food, good friends, drinks and vibes ... you cant beat that.
