    Shrimp empanadas (6 for $15)
    Shirley H.

I've had SaborCito a few times now, and I'm a little conflicted writing this review. The first few times I visited, the food was great. Extremely fresh shrimp empanadas, seafood tacos, and Aguachiles. However, the quality of food was disappointing this most recent time. We ordered a plate of 6 shrimp enchiladas ($15), and they did not taste fresh. I could even taste pieces of shell inside. Usually they are piping hot and juicy inside, but these tasted microwaved. Hopefully this was just an off night. They have a prime location next to CervezaCito in Santa Ana.

Santa Ana is rich in taco and Mexican street food. SaborCito offers mariscos that other taco shops simply do not. The truck opens up late afternoon so it's a good for that late lunch / dinner option. To think my office is just down the street and having been here for 4 years, a visit was long overdue. Gathered the team and said "let's try the orange mariscos truck" Located just off of Broadway on 4th street, a good landmark is the Starbucks. Spot that and look just a couple doors down to spot SaborCito. What did I order? - Battered Fish Taco 4/5 - Pastor Fries 3/5 The fish taco was excellent. Batter was light and flavorful. The fish itself was nice, along with the fresh accompaniments. The salsa verde is very good. I think there's still room for improvement on the tortilla which is why I gave it a 4/5 stars. The Pastor fries were just okay. I didn't have high expectations to begin with since the truck is more seafood focused. Still, I think if you offer it, at least aim for it to par with your other dishes. Flavor lacked, as well as the ratio of protein to the rest of the plate weekly short. From ordering, no line, wait time was approximately 17 minutes. Overall, definitely worth trying this truck out. There's definitely room to improve. While pricing is fair for the taco pricing, the other items are a bit over the standard retail. As I mentioned certain ingredients like the tortillas could see an upgrade and if they address these things they'll get better. Looking forward to trying out the pulpo.

    Empanadas de Camaron

Came to Cerveza Cito to watch the fight about a week ago and wanted to try the food truck that was right outside. It definitely did not disappoint. The food was amazing and tasty with the michelada I had with it. I ordered a tostada de ceviche de camaron and the empanadas de camaron both super delicious and fresh. The green salsa was super spicy for me but still nice to have. The service was quick and easy, the only down fall is that you should bring cash before hand because it's a cash only place and if you don't have any you have to go to the atm inside the Cerveza Cito. It will have an additional charge. Overly I definitely enjoyed the food and it was nice to have my meal with a beer. The vibes were great and I like how you could bring your food inside of the location or eat it outside in the patio. If I'm ever here again I will be grabbing another tostada.

Food was piping hot and so flavorful The surprising star was the salsa verde cruda... so spicy!!!! And flavorful. My favorite taco was the shrimp. So delicious

Amazing food! They're so accurate with times making it super convenient to know when you should walk back and pick up your order. The green sauce they use is super spicy (to me) but so delicious. I love that they pull up to cervezacito and just pair with their beers so well.

This taco truck, food van, mobile diner is better than most sit down restaurants. Jairo and his crew run an impeccable business here. The whole truck always twinkles eerily. The staff turns out each order as quickly as humanly possible. The guest service remains consistently friendly and courteous. Each dish Sabor serves tastes savory from bite one to the final chomp. The tacos gobernador with cheese rank high on my shortlist of best shrimp tacos. I am not comfortable with discussing my feelings for the al pastor fries from Sabor Cito on a public forum. I do not want to exhaust myself crying happy tears at the moment. I am going to go look for a tissue.

The store front is easy to find as they have a large visible sign showing "CHURROS" near the street. The items can get pricey, as I recently picked up just an ice cream with churros and bag of churros which ended up at $20. There's a $1 charge on credit cards which also seems a bit like charging the customer on any business transaction. The location is a decent size so it could definitely fit groups and such. Unfortunately my visit did not really go well, as after ordering and receiving a buzzer to let us know when the order is complete, we waited for over 10 minutes to have other customers place orders after us and receive their orders before our buzzer went off. Eventually, one of the associates noticed we had been waiting for a while and came to us to ask if we had placed an order already. For some reason, the buzzer was not programmed to our order, and I ended up asking the cashier for my receipt to confirm that my order was placed. This was frustrating as we had originally entered the store as the only guests and 3 other parties had entered the store after us and received their orders before us. Fortunately, the associates closest to us near the pick up order section noticed that we had been waiting for an extended period of time and came out to ask what we had ordered to help us make our missing order. I have no idea how our order was missed but it was not a great experience to wait in a store with no AC (only the front doors propped open for ventilation) and there was no real apology for the mishap. However, we're very appreciative of some of the staff members noticing that we had been patiently waiting for our order.

It's hard to find a good Taco Tuesday but they do a great job helping the community and keeping the prices $1.50 for basic meats like pollo, asada, and al pastor. I personally love my lengua and this truck has some of the best I've tried! It is a bit pricier but definitely worth it given the taste/quality. A couple things about the condiments--green sauce is spicier than you think, red one is more of a salsa and not that hot. Radishes are unfortunately not very crunchy/juicy at this location so I don't get it as often as I would at other taco spots. If you're ever in a rush, they do phone orders AND DoorDash. I've done all the methods and quality stays up there each time! However, if you do wanna enjoy your tacos right after they're prepared, you can always sit at their tables next to the truck. They have quite a bit of dining space and I've never seen it too crowded to the point of having difficulty finding a spot to sit. In terms of finding the truck, you just need to turn into S Hathaway St. Very close to the train tracks. I park in any free space they have there, since the businesses are usually closed after 5pm (which is when the truck opens).

I was honestly surprised by the 2.9-star rating because the photos made the food look delicious, but I decided to give it a try anyway. Overall, I thought it was great. The meat was really good, very flavorful without being over-seasoned or overly salty. I love hibachi-style food, but a lot of places tend to go heavy on the soy sauce and other seasonings, which can make everything taste extremely salty. That wasn't the case here at all. The flavors were well balanced, and nothing tasted salty or overpowering. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, they were soft but not mushy and I liked that they used large pieces of broccoli instead of tiny chopped bits. The only thing I didn't love was the $6 upcharge for fried rice. All of the bowls and plates come with white rice by default, and while the base price of the bowls was fair enough that I still went ahead and ordered the fried rice, the price difference feels a little steep. It seems like they could charge a couple dollars more for the bowls and a couple dollars less for the fried rice instead, because a $6 increase just to put the rice on the grill and add some sauce feels a bit out of line. Other than that, though, the Service was fast and friendly, the food itself was really solid and definitely satisfied my hibachi craving. I'd definitely go back!

I literally got about 6 skinny pieces of meat. The meat was very thin, dry, and did not taste or look like the quality of New York steak I expected for the price. It honestly reminded me more of basic stir-fry meat. For $26, I expected a much better portion and quality, especially for hibachi. The rice was basically the main part of the plate, with very little meat. I don't mind paying more when the food is worth it, but in this case I really don't feel like I got what I paid for. Unfortunately, I left feeling ripped off and disappointed. I definitely won't be coming back.
