The food and the ambiance was awesome! The service was on point. The only thing is the parking is not good

Very delicious ceviche, reminiscent of ceviche I had in Peru

Recommended by a friend originally from Central America who said the ceviche here is great- definitely agree and glad I found out about this randomly authentic place. It's so close to East Rock by car, just across the bridge. Fish Ceviche was plentiful, and spice level was appetizing, and had same lime-citrusy flavor profile as ceviche I had in Lima. It also came with some yucca (white root veg) and sweet potato that was surprisingly sweet and added to the yummy soft chew. No off flavor, no gummyness. The sauce for the lomo saltado (typical Peruvian beef dish) was really yummy and enjoyed drowning my crispy fries in them. The beef was a little on the chewy side, not really sure why but on the upside I didn't feel greasy-terrible afterwards. There were these fat clam ceviche things that were really good too, with green shells. Fresh, chunky, and citrusy..! Not a lot of mom and pop places do this, but the tables had clean and pretty table clothes, dishes were all nicely plated, pretty cute place. Everything didn't take long as well, and owners were big on smiles, bonus if you know some Spanish.

The kindest owners you'll ever meet! It seems like a family run operation. Unfortunately I only got to visit during corona so I had to get take out, but man would I love to stay and order a few dishes. The seafood dish I ordered was of the best quality, super fresh. And when I came to pick it up the owner gave me a taste test of fried mussels they were brewing up in the kitchen. Out of all the places I've been in the New Haven area this place gets the top spot for quality service and exceptionally fresh food. Ill be back and I'll be bringing friends!

Writing this review as I devour leftovers just as satisfied as I was last night. For a party of one my eyes were clearly bigger than my stomach, but oh I tried to eat it all. The flavor, the portions, and the service were great. I would 100% recommend Sabor Peru.

Really good food. Really friendly people. Nice hidden gem waiting for you to come check it out!

    Anticucho

I'm from out of town but my friends wanted to try some Peruvian food. As a Peruvian I'm super picky when it come to Peruvian restaurants. We ordered anticuchos, ceviches as appetizers. They were delicious. Seasoned so well. I ordered the lomo saltado, while my friends ordered the chaufa de pollo and trucha. Everything was so well done. In addition the pisco sours we're really well made also. I highly recommend this restaurant!

    Pescado Pecado a Lo Macho

The food was not good for my taste! I got pescado a lo macho and it tasted like a bottle of chili powder was dropped into it. My husband got arroz chaufa and we were not amused either. If you want good Peruvian food I recommend going to Norwalk/Stamford. The serves was good, but the place needs an upgrade.

I previously would've rated this place a 4-5 but lately we have had some disappointing visits and I…read morewas surprised I hadn't left a review previously. The good- their lomo Saltado and chaufa are spot on and delicious. Their pollo ala brasa is my kids favorite and we regularly order it on Wednesdays when they do their special. Everyone is very friendly but all don't speak English great (luckily my husband is Spanish so we always manage). We have been longtime customers- back to when they were under a different name (flavor point) and across the other side of Meriden. The cons- prices have gone up and portions seem much smaller. My lomo last time barely had any steak. The last time we went for 2 adults and 2 kids (one who only ate a side of rice) it was well over $100 before tip- no apps just meals and 2 drinks. There is no kids menu and nothing they can do to accommodate so you are buying your 2-5 year old a $20 meal they will eat a few bites of . Their pollo ala brasa is not always available- which I get but weekends I feel like it should be and we have gone twice now and had it be unavailable. my son will literally not eat anything else on the menu (as noted no kids options either). He had to sit there and not eat while we ate and get him food from across the way afterwards. One time we got the ceviche and I know the lime juice cooks the fish (believe me I eat ceviche regularly as well as sushi) and this fish was raw. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said it was fine. I couldn't eat it. But still had to pay for the dish which is high priced for the small serving. Cute atmosphere but small so can fill up quickly. Careful in bathroom , had gone a few times and almost fell from slick floor. It was clean but slick- maybe what they're using to clean it.

Something about the sign aesthetic made me think it would be a good place. I Yelp-Searched it, and Lima 32 damn near had a perfect rating based on less than 50 reviews. I'm a Food Blogger. So I try to explore new places and avoid repeating spots I know. I've eaten at Lima 32 three times since January. Lima 32 is a small casual Peruvian spot located in a very small plaza in Meriden. Parking is tough, but they've done a nice job with the aesthetics inside. Lima 32 is also available on DoorDash within a certain area. I've now had the Lomo Saltado, the Arroz Con Marisco and the Chaufa de Pollo. Best Lomo Saltado I've ever had, and I've had a really expensive one at a famous CT spot. It's basically a beef and veggie stir fry. You can see the chef making it with fire in the pan if you have the right seat. The soy and oyster sauce based glaze is good salty. So flavorful and everything is perfectly cooked. Best Arroz Con Marisco I've ever had. It's a saucy Peruvian paella. The sauce (Aji Amarillo) has a well rounded creamy pepper flavor. The seafood, like crab, mussels and shrimp really stand out. I suspect the seafood varies depending on what's available. The Chaufa de Pollo, a Chinese fried rice style dish, was very good too. Huge pieces of chicken. Eat it with the delicious Aji Verde sauce. Is Lima 32 hidden? I don't know. But it sure the hell is a gem. It's must visit. 5 Stars

I had the tallarin verde con pollo and my friend had the same but with steak. We both enjoyed our meals. The verde sauce was super saucy, which I loved. Milford's restaurant week was happening, and Costa Peru was on my list, so I decided to go there. My family ordered seafood, while I went with the Peruvian Chicken Wings topped with Peruvian Barbecue sauce, Ceviche Chicken Wings, and Lomo Salado. I was particularly curious about the Ceviche wings because I'd never heard of them before. The ceviche sauce is inspired by Aji Limo Ceviche, a lively Peruvian dish featuring fresh, raw white fish like sea bass or flounder "cooked" in lime juice, seasoned with citrusy, spicy Aji Limo peppers, red onions, and cilantro. It's usually served with sweet potato, corn, and leche de tigre (tiger's milk), offering a tart, spicy, and refreshing flavor. The Ceviche wings were fantastic. They had a bright citrus kick, and I could taste all the distinct flavors, including the spices and chilies. They really hit the spot. The barbecue wings were just as enjoyable, with a sweet yet tangy sauce and perfectly seasoned chicken. The Lomo Salado was also a hit; the rice was fluffy and full of flavor, and the tender Lomo meat practically melted in my mouth. For dessert, I ordered the flan. It was my first time trying it, and I was curious about the taste. Honestly, I didn't care much for the texture, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. My son picked the Passion Fruit Cheesecake, which was pretty good. It's not something I'd order again, but I'm glad I tried it. The service was excellent, and I'm definitely looking forward to returning and trying more dishes from the menu.

We actually didn't know anything about and what they served. Inside was beautifully decorated and we were seated quickly. We looked at the menu and saw they served Peruvian food. We never had it. We started with the trio empanadas and each one was delicious. If I had to choose one I pick the chicken as the top empanada. I didn't know what to order for the entree and the waiter recommended the Seco De Tría and Lomo Saltado. One was a short rib and the other was a beef stir fry. Both were very delicious! The beef empanadas were flavorful and satisfying, while the cheese and guava had more of a sweet, dessert-like vibe, which was a nice surprise. Both were delicious in their own way. I also loved the roasted corn they serve at the table. It is such a great touch. The dipping sauce had a nice little kick to it that added extra flavor without being overwhelming. The space itself is beautifully decorated, creating a really inviting atmosphere, and they even have a drive through, which is super convenient. On top of it all, the service was excellent. I would definitely come back, even if it is just for a quick bite again!
