How have I never been here before?? It decor is adorable and the food is delicious. Ambiance - Murals upon murals on the inside. Definitely a really special ambiance. Service - Seemed like there was only one server for the entire restaurant, but he did his best and was quick and efficient as he could be. Food - Had the chicken garlic plate which was decent, nothing to write home about. The el totem was delicious though! The pork was cooked perfectly with a great texture and flavor. The plantains were also very delicious. Overall, definitely a gem in El Paso! I don't have much exposure to Puerto Rican food, but I would love to come back here and try more things!

This is a positive criticism. The place has much potential, but it's coming short a bit. Food was OK, just shy of being really good by some details. Tostones in my Plato cubano were not drained of the excess oil making it soak the pernil (pork). If you have rice and tostones, there is no need for potato salad..a lighter element like salad would be better. My wife had the "la sanze".....a bit too much plantain in the dish, you have a hip of mofongo, really good mofongo, therefore no need to add plantain to a really good chicken. One waiter for the place, who also is the cashier....making service a suffer. Flavors overall were good and portions are quite large. Lighting is not good at all. It was a lunch sitting and had to pull my cel to liGht up the menu.

The food was excellent! Everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor! Just be warned that the service is quite slow, so if you have afternoon plans make this your dinner spot and save the evening for a delicious dining experience. We waited nearly an hour for our entrees and one came out significantly earlier than the others. She had to start eating without us or her food would've been cold. It's still certainly worth trying! I haven't had Puerto Rican food in a few years and was happy to find this restaurant!

I went for the conch salad, but mi suerte said they were out til next week. So instead, I got lots of appetizers and sides. Pastelillos are their version of empanadas. We got cheese (good, but little in there), guava and cheese (buen postre), shrimp and crab (both of which had great flavour). The pocket was thin and crunchy and didn't feel greasy. I also ordered the casava aka yucca root fries which came with mayocatsup. Platanos and tostones. I prefer the maduros since they are sweeter. The young (tostone) came with a garlic butter which guaranteed no vamps come near. They serve Malta in the bottle as well. This Boricuan drink is a non alcoholic malt beverage that treated nothing like OE or Mickey's. It was sweet and almost cajeta tasting. It's definitely worth a try. As mentioned elsewhere, you may need your traductór contigo as very little English was spoken. It was good practice for me, though I feel I butchered it.

Legitimately some of the best food I've ever had. The Carne Fritas was on point. The yellow rice cooked perfectly. The service was great, and the cook even came out to wish us a good meal. With the exception of our buddy, we were all Puerto Rican cuisine first times but it won't be the last time, we all left very satisfied.

Wow! What an amazing experience this place is!!! First of all, i was feening for some plantains, specifically mofongo which is a heaping pile of mashed plantains. I also really wanting it with shrimp as i have seen a friend eat previously from another restaraunt, thus was in search for that. Sadly, the meals they had didnt exactly have those two in combo. So i settled for their chicken stuffed with plantain wrapped in bacon with a guava sauce and mofongo and salad on the side. Called La Sanse. I really wanted to try their potato balls too but they informed me they were out. Bummer. Thus, went with a shrimp and carne turn over. It was a bit if a wait, but once i tasted the quality of food, i knew off the bat that everything was made to order. Delicious food! Loved the turnovers but the shrimp one was a bit too salty for my liking. The pasty part is sooooo good and flaky! As for La Sanse, i really loved the guava sauce they added to the chicken! Sooo good! And it complimented the saltiness of the mofongo really well. And it was a very generous amount of food, so i had plenty leftover. My only gripe was they didnt have water on tap since i received bottled water for $1 when i ordered water. Eh well, at least i know where it came from but i didnt realize that was the only option for water. And perhaps i can try their shrimp plate and sub out the white rice and beans for mofongo. I really really would love shrimp with mofongo instead. And hopefully next time they have potato balls. The picture of them looked really tasty. I will definitely be back to try more! Especially their flamming bacon wrapped shrimp with mashed potatoes!

My husband is Puerto Rican so since moving to El Paso I have been eyeing this place to take him l too since this type of food is not popular here. At first sight the front does not look very appealing. Parking is a little sketchy and very limited. The inside of the restaurant was very nicely decorated & it looked very clean. They had music playing at a moderate volume which was nice. The restaurant itself was a little to dim for my liking. We got traditional Puerto Rican drinks from a can & a bottle (A Malta & Goya passion fruit juice) but they were barely cold & no cup or ice was offered. While the menu was limited, the food was delicious & beautifully plated. The amount was great for the price. Overall it was a good experience. Restaurant has a ton of potential to be great. Their food is on point so if they make some minor tweaks I'm sure they will risee to success. Will return to see the progress

My fiance and I took a chance on going here knowing they will be closing in 30 mins. Luckily when we got there, they were very accomodating and seated us right away. We didnt feel rushed to order since they would be closing soon but instead gave us time to choose from the menu. My fiance had the churassco and i had the chicken chicharon. I must say that was the best chicken chicharon I ever had along with the beans that came. Also, While we were almost done eating, the lady asked us if we wanted any dessert. Of course knowing my fiance he loves sweets so we ordered a flan. Which turned out good. Overall I would come Back here again if ever I come back To El paso.

Need 10 Star Option--- Food Explosion This place is a must dine and goes beyond delivering your typical PR food. Whether you are from PR or you will enjoy the food. I tried the Pork Chops with red beans and rice and OFMG is what I can say. I found this GEM in Yelp and I can tell you they didn't disappoint one bit. It will become a frequent stop every time I travel to ELP, TX from Florida. I have to tell you I have had PR food in the island, NY (Bronx and Brooklyn) and this is better tasty. I will try to go back before I head home and try other items but the pork chops are FIRE!!!!

The garlic chicken plate was good, i liked that the breast was pounded out. comes with a bit of salad and a good portion of white rice and beans. The beans were in a tomato sauce, which was nice to eat with the rice. I tried the mofongo (mashed plantain), i don't exactly understand what makes it attractive. overall not my fave cuisine but well executed and worth trying at least once. they're on restaurant.com

Waited hour and half to get my food and when I got my food, I didn't get what I ordered. Be prepared to wait. Do not go there hungry. The manager did not even charge me for the food because he knew they messed up my order and had us there waiting for so long. I don't think I will go back there again.

Great newfound in El Paso. They opened in April 2017 and are serving up great Puertorrican dishes. The "pastelillos" are excellent with the right flavors. "Cafe Yaucono con leche" is an extremely rare find in El Paso. Rosa is an excellent hostess. Family friendly and reasonable prices. Thank Rosa for her husband Francisco's military service. True "Sabor Boricua". Thank you!

When we first pulled up, there were only two cars in the parking lot, so we assumed it was pretty empty inside. It was. There were about 4 people in there. No one checked our ID, or greeted us. The interior was nice and modern looking. The bartender (possibly manager?) approached us and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We didn't, not right away. We just wanted to check it out. As my girl and I sat on the couch for about 5-10 minutes, the bartender came back and told us "You guys can't just sit there. If you're not going to get anything to drink, I'm going to have to ask you guys to leave." So, we left. Not to mention, my girlfriend was working on setting up the app they had, so she could play music requests. But, the bartender just approached us in a rude manner and was pretty straightforward that if you don't pay to buy something to drink, you're gonna get kicked out. So, just keep that in mind guys. We then went to La Mina Bar & Night Club - and they were so much more friendly; didn't force you to buy a drink, either!

But it just opened 3 months ago so we wanted to give it a try. We were chillin and then I'm guessing the guy that owns the club/bar or the manager was like "since you guys aren't buying drinks, I'm going to have to kick you out. You guys can't just sit here." I was baffled. We had just got there like literally for 5 minutes. I've never been kicked out of a bar before for not buying drinks. I just said "okay" and we walked out. I didn't know how to respond or react. We went to another club/bar called La Mina Bar and Night Club. Before we sat down I asked the bartender if he'd kick us out if we didn't order drinks and he said no. I've been to other clubs and even when i didn't buy drinks they never kicked me out. By the way highly recommend La Mina Bar and Night club. The music was amazing and everyone was nice. So keep in mind that in order for you to say at Latin Quarters New York, you have to purchase a beverage or they'll kick you out. Do not recommend Latin Quarters New York.
