Their meat selection was pretty extensive, and they also sell chips and other cookies to go along with whatever sandwich you order. The employee did a great job and added all of the toppings that I requested. Sandwiches don't come more fresh than straight from the deli. I don't come to this part of town too often because we switch-up different soccer fields throughout the city. If we do come back to the area I will try to make it a point to come back here again.

The espresso is better than okay, but not great. Overall a wonderful place and I'm glad to have spent my money there (even though it was pretty pricey) but I hope that in the future their baristas could be a little more experienced and their roasting or sourcing could level up. Exceptional for the average customer, underwhelming for coffee geeks.

We ordered 3 empanadas, a bacon, egg & cheese, a spinach & feta and a beef. They were very good, the beef was best with the sauce that comes with it. They have some seating inside and several tables outside. The service was awesome.

Most recently, I stopped by over Easter weekend (2026) and grabbed my usual go-to, an empanada. This time it was the pulled pork, and it definitely hit the spot just like the others I've had. Not much more to say other than they've been solid every time. I'll keep stopping by whenever I'm in the area.

I tasted espresso but I'm not complaining as I do like coffee. The special was a Chilean Beef Empanad which was enormous and hearty. The Chilean ají or Merken wasn't as pronounced but there was a whole olive. The Barista was TRASH! If you ever see my reviews I never trash staff. However this red glasses Barista barley acknowledged me. Not once did he check in and there were only 2 patrons. I stood up to ask for a container and 2 patrons walked in for espresso shots. He rushed to acknowledge them but negated me completely. If he's the only one serving well see how long this location lasts. I always rate on food. My 4 stars is on food only. It would be a 1 if I rate on customer service.

Today I tried the Spice Pumpkin, a pure pumpkin ice cream with cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, and clove. It was quite delicious and definitely gave me those warm fall flavors I was looking for. I also like that the regular cone is included, and it's a really good cone! You can upgrade to a waffle cone if you'd like. They offer both kid-size and adult-size portions, too. The kid-size comes with 2 ounces of ice cream and is just under $5, while the adult-size comes with 4 ounces of ice cream and is around $6-$7. If you're not sure about a flavor, you can always ask for a sample before you decide. There's indoor seating if you want to sit and enjoy your ice cream, and they also have pints available to take home. One more helpful tip if you're driving: there's a garage nearby, and Whole Foods is just steps from The Charmery. Whole Foods offers up to 90 minutes of validated parking with a purchase, so you can grab something there and take advantage of the parking validation while enjoying your ice cream. And if you plan to visit The Charmery often, be sure to pick up one of their loyalty cards so you can earn rewards toward a freebie! Baklava, saffron, old bay, cantaloupe, and more! They had classics as well like chocolate and mint. A single scoop was $6 and was a good size. I got the baklava and WOW. I'm a huge baklava fan and this was incredible. I don't know how they mixed real, delicious chunks of baklava in the honey ice cream without it getting soggy or mushy, but they did and it was amazing! A friend got their dark chocolate and it might be the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had- I'm look at you Ben and Jerry! It has off-street parking, which is a big deal in this neighborhood, and the indoor and outdoor space is an impressive buildout, though while it is aesthetically pleasing, the traffic noise is significant outside and the uneven DC pavement means that those outdoor tables are so off-level that I was constantly worried that my glassware would slip off of the table. Moving on to service, that was not a success; I was given a number and a menu and told to take a seat, but the fact that I did so outside somehow completely bamboozled the staff, who were unable to locate me to the point that when I went back inside twenty minutes later they said they thought I'd disappeared. The cuisine itself though was intriguing. An indulgent brunch menu included a separate vegetarian/vegan section. Not being overly hungry, I went for a chia pudding. It was a nicely rendered creation, the elevated peanut butter and jelly theme revolved around berry preserves, and when I ran out of them at the top I found a second layer at the bottom. A blue algae matcha was a little sweeter than I was expecting, but still a nice beverage overall and was available with alternate milks for no extra charge (although the price was still what you'd pay if you asked for oat milk somewhere else). They offer wifi and I telework, so the menu might tempt me to try them again and hope they can do a little bit better on the service side, but the big picture is that I liked the place.
