Saba is a miracle worker. I came to her a couple months before my wedding with a heavily beaded dress I had purchased from Brides for a Cause. I loved the dress with its intricate bead work and design, but it hung on my frame like a sack -- no shape, no movement. Saba pinned it up, and gave me two viable options on how to alter the dress. I opted for the more complex of the two options. She quoted me fairly (though I do recall her saying "you might hate me" when telling me the cost) and I knew from other brides that she was the best of the best. I trusted her with my dress, and when I came back for my final fitting, the dress fit me absolutely perfectly. It was like it was made just for me. Saba's careful work and attention to detail was exactly as I had imagined. It turned out just perfect, and I am so grateful for her impeccable work. read more

Saba did an amazing job with my dress. It had a very complicated skirt and it fits perfectly and looks great. She was a little late with the completion but she reached out at an appropriate time and a valid reason for it. I was worried alterations would be out of my budget and double the price of the dress itself but the price was reasonable and doable for me. I would say communication was a little weird at times because of how she books and how she reached out about the delay. Although I didn't have any issues scheduling when the time came around to call back and schedule. I would just say come with questions to make the conversation go a little better. Overall her work is very well done, she is knowledgeable and I loved having an alterations appointment where I got my dress as well. read more

Need to update my review. She was so difficult to get ahold of. Once I did, she said she was out of the country. I asked when I could schedule, she said she only does wedding dresses, and does not tailor jeans anymore. I bet she does great work on dresses, but I was disappointed by how long it took just to get an answer. read more

I came to Saba 6 weeks before my wedding in a panic- that covid 30 hit me hard and I could no longer come even close to zipping my dress. I was so nervous about alterations- I didn't want my gorgeous dress to look different- but Saba exceeded my expectations. During our first consultation we decided to add a corset back and bustle. I came back for a second fitting and we determined we needed to shorten the straps. At my third and final fitting, I was amazed. My dress fit perfectly, was comfortable and beautiful. You could not tell that the corset back was an addition, but rather it looks like that's how it was meant to be. Saba was so fast, professional and so dang affordable. I highly recommend her services for wedding and any other alterations you may need! read more

Saba was amazing to work with! She was friendly, thoughtful and extremely helpful. She made super smart recommendations about my dress. She got the spaghetti straps to the perfect length not to sag but also not to leave red marks on my skin all day. She kept my long dress long enough in the front to still be elegant but I was no longer tripping. She worked incredibly quickly as well! read more

I don't have a before photo, but for my wedding dress, I had a vintage Gunne & Sax dress. I could swing it, but it was too long and the bodice was too large for me so it had gaping armpit holes. Well, I went and took my dress in to Saba and she made everything perfect. For such a reasonable price too! She was kind, timely, and professional. I recommend her to everyone! Thank you, Saba, for making my dress perfect for my special day! read more

Kind, reliable, and professional owner. Definitely going to use this company again when needed.

Absolutely stunning work. Saba took my mother's 50 year old wedding dress that was 3 sizes too small and turned it into a piece of art that I can wear for my wedding this summer! Great service, beautiful work, and wonderful business. read more

Unbelievable work and Excellent customer service. The only place I go to!!! I've had multiple garments altered within the last 2 years and had always been more than satisfied. read more

Saba altered my dress for my bridal shower and she did such an amazing job! The fabric/style was somewhat difficult to alter but Saba worked her magic and you couldn't even tell what was altered. She also altered my moms dress for my wedding and it turned out perfectly! She is very responsive and was quick to get our dresses done! I highly recommend Same Day Alterations to anyone! read more

The weeks preceding my son's wedding were super busy, as one would expect, but as an added bonus, I got really sick, had two surgeries and well, it was dicy on every level. The wedding was on Saturday and the Monday morning before the wedding I tried on the dress to discover while it was probably a little big to begin with, now it was untenable. That same day I called Same Day Alterations. Not only did she get me in that day for a fitting, but she showed me how shortening the straps (short torso) would make the dress so much more comfortable. The owner made the alterations, was reasonably priced and had the dress done a day sooner than promised. I hope you don't have the same emergency needs, but if you do, at least there is a terrific solution for your emergency and non emergency alteration needs. I'll be back now that I know how great customized clothes feel on my body! read more

Sabas alterations - The groom, the dress and the best man (my other son). - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

Having clothes altered to fit you exactly is one of the secrets of looking put together. Because my arms are a how bit short, sleeves are often too long. The same thing goes for my short legs--pants often need to be hemmed to look just right. I discovered Saba and her excellent tailoring skills and she has altered many, many things for me. She does a great job. I highly recommend her! read more

Hidden in the residential area of Ellsworth Springs (just west of the 205 and south of Mill Plain Blvd) rests a gem of an Alterationist. Saba converted her home's garage into an alteration shop complete with changing booth and flat screen TV. It's basic, but within her garage/shop, she has all the tools necessary for top quality alteration work. And even though her shop has only been open for less than two years, Saba has been working as a seamstress since she was ten. I didn't ask her age (as you don't), but that's got to be at least a couple of decades worth of sewing experience. It's always nice when you meet someone who really loves what they do, and that's Saba. She loves her work and it shows. I brought in a couple of items for hemming and some new buttons for a jacket, and her price quote was more than reasonable, downright inexpensive actually. She told me how she gets people coming in with wedding dresses needing hems the day before the wedding and that she doesn't add "rush" fees to her work. She lets Karma guide her customers in that matter. I'm sure that not having to pay for a retail space allows Saba to keep her prices low, and her quality work keeps her customers coming (and coming back). As you can see by the other Yelpers here, Saba is highly recommended. If you're in need of any clothing alterations, you really should take a drive into Saba's neighbourhood, and if you're lucky, maybe you'll get to meet her Golden Retriever, Cooper. read more

Service was great. Communications were good. Costs were high. If in the neighborhood - would recommend.

Needed a quick alteration on my pants for a family dinner. She had a quick turn around for a good price. Would recommend to anyone local.

She altered my wedding dress and a bridesmaid dress. Both turned out wonderful. I highly recommend. At least when I pulled up I was concerned because her business is ran out of her garage but once in there I felt totally comfortable. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. THEY DID NOT ALTER MY WEDDING DRESS. I was sobbing right before walking down the aisle and felt ugly my entire wedding. The entire top of my dress didn't fit and made me look bigger than I am and completely made my boobs disappear because it didn't fit there. I also had her alter my moms wedding dress and that didn't fit me whatsoever or even stay clasped shut. This place is AWFUL and she WILL lie about when your items will be ready and try to blame it on you. SAVE ALL OF YOUR TEXT MESSAGES. I genuinely have never hated someone more than this woman after what she did to me on what's supposed to be the best day of my life. On the left is a picture of my dress at the place I bought it when they pulled it to fit me. On the right is what she gave me. I hope no one ever comes to you again for a wedding dress and I can't believe you would do this to someone, especially after the ridiculous price I paid. read more

Saba to the rescue!!! Called Thursday evening, came in Friday afternoon for an alterations on my dress pants and it was ready for pick-up before hours before I had to get ready for a wedding. Saba is efficient and does a beautiful job. Not every seamstress does. Her prices are good too. I highly recommend her!

Saba's alterations is great! She did everything I wanted! She's quick and very nice! Definitely recommend her!

When I purchased my wedding dress, I wasn't supposed to need to have it hemmed. To my surprise, I needed a couple inches off the front for my dress to lay correctly. I called Saba and was able to get in right away for a consultation. I was anxious about the turnaround time and was still able to pick it up almost a month prior to my wedding. Her work is quality, affordable, and turnaround time is quick! Highly recommend! read more

I have had clothes altered for my family to include coats, pants and dresses and have been very pleased every time. Great prices and excellent work! I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Saba is gem. I initially contacted her about a month before seeing her and her response times are great. She was able to answer my questions via email very quickly before I ultimately decided/had the time to bring my clothes over to her. She hemmed 4 pants/jeans for me. I dropped them off in the morning and she contacted me later in the afternoon to let me know she was finished. I wasn't too worried on the timing, but after some discussion with her, I had a feeling she was going to be quick and efficient. When I picked up my pants, she offered for me to try them on before leaving but I told her that I trusted her and would try them on when I get home. (I was heading to dinner) When I got home that night, I tried them all on and they were hemmed at the length I wanted them at (I previously cuffed them and pointed to her where I wanted the length to be). She did a great job and they look great. My only regret is not having her do some taper work. I wonder if she will taper pants she already hemmed... I wouldn't be disappointed if she said no but her work is great and affordable so it's something I may ask her... Anyway, if you're in the area looking for alteration work, Saba is definitely a great choice. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Saba altered my wedding dress perfectly, quickly, and affordably! 5/5 stars

Although this is "Same Day Alterations", it actually takes a week to get 1 item hemmed. I've taken 3 separate items here (all casual dresses) & after being informed of the exact date & time I could pick the dress up, I received a call 20 minutes before my pickup time asking if I could come by later to pick the dress up because it wasn't ready yet. Since I was already driving to her house (garage setup), coming by another time wasn't an option. As soon as I arrived, someone else was hemming my dress and I had to wait around 10 minutes for them to finish. It's not the most professional business and the quality of work is okay. read more

I asked Saba to repair a zipper on my jeans (tooth fell out). She did it within a week as promised, by sewing over the tooth - unfortunately only a temporary fix, or something happened, because the zipper got misaligned, fell off the track, when i tried them on after her fix. However, the 4 stars is more for customer service, because she was extremely accommodating of the problem and immediately agreed to reimburse me. She also first offered to look at/fix the jeans again, but I was out of town. Cash is preferred ,Venmo is possible too but a little extra for taxes/fees read more

Excellent work, done quickly. I had a pair of pants hemmed, a canvas jacket shortened at the sleeves, and a zipper shirt that needed to be resized completely, because it was too big. Saba did a great job with everything, particularly the shirt. And when the sleeves were too long still on the shirt I just brought them in and she fixed it in a day. Very happy with all my alterations. read more

She fixed the hem on my skirt in 10 minutes and I had called her earlier that morning. Thanks for helping out so quickly!

These guys did a terrific job of shortening my shirts! Thank you!

Saba is amazing! My brothers wedding was three days before I asked if she could hem my dress and also make my sisters dress fit. She went above and beyond in her extremely busy schedule, to get our dresses done on time and perfect. (Not to mentioned, she worked on our dresses on her day off). My dress fit so perfectly, I didn't have to worry about tripping or having to hold up my dress. My sister was able to be a bridesmaid, yay! All because she was able to make a corset to make it adjustable for her. It was all worth it! Will most definitely be going to her again! Definitely recommend. Pictures- my sisters dress, NOTE: Saba did not choose the color of the ribbon. I did it all last minute and had to go with what we had. The picture was also taken at the end of the event. The group picture- I'm the end of the line, last one on the left side. With my hairdo up!(: read more
