I hate to do this, but after the mediocre experience my dad and I had here on our most recent visit, I feel it incumbent on me to warn my fellow Yelpers not to make the same mistake I made. As I stated in my first review, this place is known for its prime rib. Yes, as Krys P. points out, the menu is probably 90% Italian, but in the 10-20 times I've been here, I've never ordered anything for my main course other than the prime rib. I learned on my most recent visit that the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. No big deal. It's the North Country, as we call it, and this place is in the middle of nowhere. I don't expect this to be a 7 days/week operation. That said, I was scheduled to fly back home Thursday morning, so I was left with no choice but to go on Wednesday night. Is the fact that they're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays what I want to warn you about? No. What I want to warn you about is this: If you like your prime rib RARE like I do, as in still mooing, slap the cow on the ass rare, call ahead to make sure they've got it. Dad and I got there last night looking forward to a rare occasion (pun intended), but before our server even came back to deliver us the bad news, dad was already queezy about the possibility of getting Sunday's leftover prime rib. He was right. Our server told us the best they could do for us on the prime rib temperature was medium, so we reluctantly agreed knowing full well we were getting it well done. Our server, though pleasant, tried to tell us the rib was slow cooked the previous day for 24 hours, but you can't BS two guys who practically eat for a living, have decades of combined restaurant experience, and know more about beef than some butchers. As an aside, if the rib was in fact cooked the previous day, how in the world of all cows who died in vain does a chef with 30+ years experience overcook it? Well, easily, if it was cooked for 24 hours, as the server suggested. Dad was nicer than I was, saying that the beef was still tender despite being overcooked. At least the rib still had that perfect seasoning. So as not to get stuck with two cuts of well done prime rib, we opted to get the Delmonico. The steak was cooked perfectly, but had no seasoning whatsoever and lacked that caramelization I anticipate for a crunchy texture. Dad and I debated this one and both concluded there's no right or wrong way; I just prefer a little creativity. As for the cabbage noodles, they were good, but the noodles were overcooked. The complimentary relish tray was wilting a bit, almost as if wrapped in the fridge on Sunday night and pulled back out during our stop on Wednesday. The complimentary french bread that used to be soaked in butter and garlic has since been replaced by garlic knots that do not appear to be made on site. The only two saving graces to this particular dining experience were the delicious, generously portioned crab legs and the hand cut fries, which I wanted with gravy, but they didn't have any. I hope I'm wrong, but Sabad's may be going down a slippery slope. IF and when I go back, it will most definitely not be on a Wednesday.

    Prime rib with baked potato.

Outstanding food! We stumbled upon this gem while working in Massena. Everyone in our group raved about the food. Great experience!

I love to find a mom and pop place I could be loyal to but I am afraid my first experience was just ok. I had no problem waiting a hour and 10 mins because they weee very busy. The staff were very nice when I came to pick up my food. So no problems like others have stated in past reviews. We all have good days and bad days so I never judge the experience on staff alone. The Food: The veal parm sandwich with salad was ok- the veal was prepared properly as it was soft and moist ( they must of soaked it in milk). The flavor- was ok and the bread was very good and held up as a sandwich. The Zucchini Fries were tasteless and a great deal of water came through every bite. They were not seasoned properly- it is almost like you have to over season to help with not just taste but to absorb the water from the veg. The combo appetizers were also not seasoned. In a good note, the cheese sticks were nice. The wings were very small and dry, not enough sauce on them. The mushrooms held up well. Would I go again, I think I will try because of the good reviews I have read on YELP. Also the pizza being made right in the front looked good. I hate leaving harsh reviews but maybe it could he taken not as negative but helpful.

I feel like the waitress has worked there for 100 years, prompt, efficient and a really authentic Italian accent. We ordered veal parmigiana, veal Marsala and rigatoni for the meal. Warm bread and salads accompanied the entrees. It's always dark inside the dining room but the veal is flavorful and tender. Nice meal.

The staff was very friendly and stayed busy with lots of locals, but also quite a crowd from the local university grabbing a bite to eat. The ambiance is your typical small Italian Restaurant, tiled walls and floors, Italian themed decorations and also pictures of the Sergi family which is a nice touch. The front entrance area is for take out or eat in and where they make pizza, then in the back is a dining area with wait staff for service and behind that the kitchen. They also have a large room on the side for events/banquets. I found out after my first visit you can park behind the building in a free local municipal lot and enter through a back entrance. Ok down to the food - The wings were delicious - fresh chicken, crisped just right with a perfect house sauce. The sauce is thick, (has to be cut with butter) and was just delicious, I would literally put that s^&t on everything lol. The pizza was also excellent - round style Neapolitan with a soft yet crisp crust, delicious cheese and the sauce was slightly sweet (hello San Marzano's!) just how I like it. There was definitely flavor and spice in the sauce. The pizza rolls were addictive and not for anyone trying to lose weight. Back home they would call it an inside out, but I found these to be tastier. At our last dinner before leaving down, I tried out a stuffed pepper that came highly recommended. It was a meal unto itself, fresh stuffed Bell Peppers with rice and meat topped with cheese and sauce. My family and I were stuffed and really enjoyed the food and hospitality we received at Sergi's. We got to meet a good portion of the staff which included multiple generations of the Sergi family. Good people with big hearts who make some killer food. Thanks guys!!

Canton Little Italy:…read more My best friend hired this business to cater their wedding in August 2025. They began planning in December 2024 with this venue. The deposit required was 50%, but they paid 90% upfront to finalize plans. A month before the wedding, they reached out to confirm details and received no response. When the owner finally replied, she stated she was "busy" and later added unexpected charges for delivery and setup -- costs that were not disclosed in the original quote. Understandably, this caused stress for the couple, who had already budgeted based on the original agreement. When they asked for a breakdown of what had already been paid for, the owner responded rudely, saying it would take her "hours" to prepare and refused to provide clear answers. When the groom attempted to resolve the matter in person, the owner raised her voice, used inappropriate language, and refused to offer either a compromise or refund. She also told them it was "on them" to figure out how to get the food on their wedding day if they did not want to pay the additional fees. On the day of the wedding, my husband volunteered to pick up the food so the couple wouldn't have to worry. Despite paying the remaining balance plus gratuity, he was left to load 10 pizzas and 12 trays of food by himself, without assistance -- as the owner and staff would not even have the decency to hold the door open. The food was delivered and had to be warmed up before it was even served at the venue. Thankfully, the wedding crew pulled this off for the newlyweds! This experience was unprofessional, disrespectful, and deeply disappointing, especially for such an important occasion. I cannot recommend this business for catering, events, or even casual dining. Transparency, professionalism, and basic courtesy should be the standard, especially in hospitality -- unfortunately, this establishment showed none of these qualities. While I love to support local, choose yourself a business that is professional and has the compassion to work with you, one that is respectful and honest!
