We dined in and bought take out multiple times from Sergi's during a recent visit to the area and I'd definitely go back. The staff was very friendly and stayed busy with lots of locals, but also quite a crowd from the local university grabbing a bite to eat. The ambiance is your typical small Italian Restaurant, tiled walls and floors, Italian themed decorations and also pictures of the Sergi family which is a nice touch. The front entrance area is for take out or eat in and where they make pizza, then in the back is a dining area with wait staff for service and behind that the kitchen. They also have a large room on the side for events/banquets. I found out after my first visit you can park behind the building in a free local municipal lot and enter through a back entrance. Ok down to the food - The wings were delicious - fresh chicken, crisped just right with a perfect house sauce. The sauce is thick, (has to be cut with butter) and was just delicious, I would literally put that s^&t on everything lol. The pizza was also excellent - round style Neapolitan with a soft yet crisp crust, delicious cheese and the sauce was slightly sweet (hello San Marzano's!) just how I like it. There was definitely flavor and spice in the sauce. The pizza rolls were addictive and not for anyone trying to lose weight. Back home they would call it an inside out, but I found these to be tastier. At our last dinner before leaving down, I tried out a stuffed pepper that came highly recommended. It was a meal unto itself, fresh stuffed Bell Peppers with rice and meat topped with cheese and sauce. My family and I were stuffed and really enjoyed the food and hospitality we received at Sergi's. We were in area for the weekend to watch our grandson's first football game at SLU and celebrate our 56th anniversary. Saturday night the 3 of us enjoyed a delicious dinner. Portions were substantial. Our waitress was delightful and later told me she makes the eggplant which I thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant atmosphere was a step back in time to the numerous family run Italian restaurants in Schenectady where I grew up. Great family run restaurant. can't wait to go back and try the amazing looking pizzas we watched being served. read more

Discovered Sergi's during the early 80's college years and become addicted to their pepperoni pizza rolls. I had a credit card my folks provided with a couple hundred bucks on it for school supplies and books. I remember getting a call from my Mom asking me what this place called Sergi's was, I told her it was the campus book store. My older sister was also familiar with Canton overheard our telephone conversation and asked my Mom what I told her and she was more than happy to tell my Mom I lied. My phone rang again and I was told you have a card good for three meals a day, no more Sergi's charges. That phone call prompted me to get a student job, so I could feed my habit, no pizza rolls was impossible. I miss that place and that time, delicious memories for sure. read more

This must be the place to be on a Saturday night. I was in Potsdam for my daughters basketball tournament. Everyone said this is the place to eat at. So I'm here, with I think all of Potsdam. When you walk in your greeted with the aroma of beautiful notes of a Italian grandmothers house. Man this place rocks. I ordered baked ziti, large pie, and from all the reviews a pizza roll. I was blown away with the flavor and goodness jam packed into that roll. Crispy crust, pepperoni and cheese. What more can you ask for. It's hard to find New York City style pizza that taste like New York City pizza but I found it here they loaded up the toppings. I loved it plenty of cheese. It was a very, very good pizza. They have amazing food! Absolutely delicious! But service was garbage, we asked multiple times for a box and our waitress just looked at the half a pizza and got a small piece of aluminum for it then finally she gave us our box. The restaurant was a bit hectic because there was a large group with many kids there but that can't be controlled and the restaurant looks amazing but it was hard to relax, prices are very high but like I said, food was amazing, only two small bathrooms with no way to dry your hands. read more

I honestly thought I was on a prank TV show this experience was so bad. We were staying at a nearby (45 min drive) lake and ordered $120 worth of pizza and wings at 4:15 yesterday. We were told it would be ready at 5:05, so drove into town and were told they were "just waiting on one last thing" when we arrived to pickup at 5:00. When we STILL didn't have our food at 5:45 (standing outside in 90° heat), I asked for a partial refund as compensation. The employee grew flustered and said "well I'm already giving you a Pepsi (requested add-on I intended to pay for) and pizza rolls (first mention of this). That's $10 worth of stuff." When I replied that it was not adequate, another employee came over and TOOK BACK the Pepsi and pizza rolls from me! Original employee then asked in a snarky tone if 10% was good enough (approx equal value as the food they'd just taken back). Frustratedly I accepted and left. When we got back to the house (at 6:40), it was obvious that most of our food had sat the entire 45 minutes that our order was late. The wings were soggy and the pizza was cold and tough. We threw most of it out and made Mac and Cheese for the kids. Mistakes happen, but rude and spiteful customer service made this experience 1000x worse. read more

A former Ogdensburg native (about 20 miles from Canton), I used to often go out of my way to Sergi's whenever I wanted Italian. Especially pizza. The pizza and calzones here are excellent. Until Little Italy opened in Ogdensburg, there was really nothing comparable in the area. Sergi's is also open pretty late during college season and the prices are very reasonable. This is not only a good place to go if you're a SLU or an ATC student, but it's also a good family restaurant. read more

Probably the best pizza sauce in town. I loved their food when I was wasted in college...but their dough is far too similar to eating large slices of fluffy bread. It's frustrating. Pizza roll = a pocket of grease that 8 times out of 10 is almost completely raw dough just beneath the fried shell. read more

The food here took an eternity to get, when it did arrive the chicken Alfredo was dark meat. Some people like that perhaps I don't. I'm an all white meat girl. Where do I start.....first and foremost....this is a really nice place with good food. Our friends who went to school in the area kept telling us to stop by and try their famous pizza roll. As they tried to explain it to me over and over, over many conversations, I just couldn't comprehend the magnitude of its deliciousness that exploded in my mouth...which I will get to later. Sooo...I walk in and am directed to a table in the back and as you can see from previous pictures, their stucco ceiling was really cool, but I couldn't help to have this sinking feeling that I am somehow now on Shang Tsung's Island walking in to battle the sub-boss Goro. No fatalities here and luckily Goro never appears!!!! Anyways, I looked over the menu and there were so many good choices, but still had that little voice yelling at me...GET THE PIZZA ROLL. So I did the next best thing: I ordered my dinner and 2 pizza rolls to go for later. Also fully anticipating that Goro will come out of the kitchen with my pizza roll ready to get it on....GET OVER HERE!!! The dinner was extremely delicious and satisfying, but that is nothing to what happened later. I do get the famous pizza roll and headed home and that is where the fireworks happened. I unwrap this thing and I am a little hungry now (its a couple hours later) and unveil what appears to be a large pizza roll; not a calzone, sub, or sandwich. Then I take the first bite. OMG....what do they do this thing? Its the best pizza roll I have ever had. I immediately put it down, run to the freezer and throw away the so-called pizza rolls I have in there because nothing will ever compare to what I just had and run back to the Sergi Famous Pizza Roll on my counter and continue to devour it. Its like they make the pizza roll and then deep fry it or something and it tastes like a donut dough wrapped pizza. I had to contain myself to not eat the other one, but save it for later...which was hard. Anyways....if you are in the area....stop by and try this place. We went here as we had a coupon and we like the Sergis in Potsdam. Believe me this place was not like the Potsdam location. Ordered zucchini and it was so greasy. The grease tasted OLD. The marina sauce OLD - Not like in Potsdam where I could drink it. Ordered the pizza roll which is a calzone and wanted what I usually get in it inside- she says No can do...they are already made up... Got it and it was HORRID-same old grease that the zucchini was in- like something you would get off a cart at a fair... it may have been frozen? Was not soft and not full of great ingredients like you get at the other location...Came on a plate like a bloated whale-no sauce like it said on the menu...so had to ask for it... waitress says "Sure do you mind if it is cold?" ARE you kidding me??? Hey- give me some cold marina for my hot entree..... My friend had the combo plate...Spaghetti, chick parm, stuff pepper, lasagne...all definitly put on a plate and reheated...the sauce and the whole thing was so salty... There's a good chance if you're ordering a fat bag in person, you just finished up at the Ticker. You probably made out with someone--congrats on the herpes. Maybe you struck out (nigh impossible). Doesn't matter, though, because you're still getting one of the fat bags that's been sitting on top of the pizza oven, and there's a good chance that despite probably sitting there for about forty five minutes, it's undercooked and too doughy. You're hammered and anything greasy tastes good. Five dollars well spent. But maybe you're trying to sneak one in right before they stop delivering (3:00 a.m.? My memory is going). If that's the case, drunk dialer beware. The delivery guys definitely make extra tips by taking advantage of kids too drunk to realize how much change they should get back. They also will accept beer in lieu of tips. Truth. And get it with ranch, not bleu cheese. If you get it with bleu cheese you're a terrorist. I only went there three times during college to sit down and eat. And guess what? It was shitty Americanized red sauce food. You're better off ordering fat bags and Mikey's. read more

This is the best pizza in St. Lawrence County. The crust is baked just right and the proper thickness. The sauce is not too spicy like some, but still has excellent flavor. There is always plenty of toppings. Definitely no need for extra cheese. Any of their entrees are authentic Italian dishes that will never leave you hungry. Been here twice: once for dropping son off to college and tonight for parent weekend. Service for both times was absolutely horrible. Forgetting to bring menus, food taking way too long to get to table, long time to wait for a check and a waitress looking totally bewildered when I asked if I could order food. Y.U.C.K. That pretty much sums up my review. I came to Canton on business and, just about 15 minutes ago, I was delivered the "Italian Lovers Delight for One." I've been to Italy several times personally and even like to think of myself as a fairly decent cook of Italian cuisine. Regardless of whether or not the proprietor hails from Italy doesn't automatically make them a GOOD Italian chef. B.L.A.N.D. This stuff was practically inedible. The chicken parm tasted like cardboard, the sauce needed some SALT, basil, garlic and, perhaps, some oregano. The manicotti was SO plain. The only real decent item was the stuffed pepper. Well, I suppose I shouldn't have expected too much from an Italian place in northern NY, close to the Canadian border. Perhaps I'll have to try their pizza the next time I am in town - hopefully that will be a bit better! read more

Wow, so I've traveled all over the US and I consider myself a barbecue sauce connoisseur.. there's a different taste you would want for wings or ribs or pizza. This place far outdoes any pizza/wing bbq I've ever had. It's tangy, but sweet and first and foremost tastes homemade. I would bathe in this bbq. Particularly good when you dip your cheese or pepperoni pizza roll in it. This is a steamy and crispy huge pillow of cheese with a crunchy golden toasty crust. It's absolutely delicious. Secondly, the dough here is so pure and delicious. It crisps perfectly with a soft fluffy center. They do not skimp on ingredients either which makes you feel like the prices are on point. My only critique is that they don't deliver on the outskirts of canton. This is a major disappointment for me. Also, they don't open until 4, which really cuts into my lunch pizza hours. The wings are equally raveable. Always crispy, lots of meat. 5 stars. read more
