If you like bland food, this place is for you. We had green curry, pad Thai, and pineapple fried rice. All of them were terribly bland. However, it wasn't too greasy or terrible otherwise, and the atmosphere was fine. read more

Went for lunch during the weekend. Got the lunch special because it was cheaper. However, although the food was pretty good, the portions were very small, and the service was also very terrible. I am not returning. read more

I have been travelling to Lancaster for business during the last 9 months. Sa La Thai has been my home away from home. The warmth of Lindsey, my server, and the fresh, perfectly prepared entrees keep me coming back week after week. Try anything and everything. I love the Seafood Lovers and Thai Basil, Ginger or Garlic with various proteins. It is all great. read more

The food was tasteful. My family has allergy issues with canola/refined vegetable oils. I asked the server. She was kind enough to change the oil for preparation and even take care of cross contamination. Very accomodating and kind people read more

Absolutely fantastic food. ALL OF IT. Great service. It's our favorite restaurant. We go every week.

I haven't tasted the food yet, but their service is good. I came in late and they still took my order

Does not live up to its ad. mThe he seafood was lacking. As were the noodles on the bottom. I certainlyWould not use them again.

Have had several goods meals there, definitely recommend. Service was great each time as well.

I've eaten here several times ranging from a group of people to a date and it's always been a great experience. The staff couldn't be any friendlier and they are consistently on top of making sure you have everything you need. The prices are also great and it's BYOB, so bring a bottle! I normally get the chicken pad Thai and it's never disappointed. Oh and get I mention it was BYOB? I will keep going back to this place for as long as it's open and highly recommend to others! You'll have a great experience! read more

As my husband and I planned our wedding in Lancaster PA, we decided to feature cuisine of some of the places to which we have travelled. Thailand had some of our favorite food, and when we looked for a restaurant that served authentic and reasonably priced Thai food, we went downtown to sample Sa La Thai. We had a really great dining experience with them and decided to place an order for our wedding reception. As far as the customer service goes, the people we worked with at Sa La Thai were extremely helpful and accommodating. Even more important, everyone at the wedding RAVED about the Thai food. The drunken noodles were a favorite, and everything was so delicious. I am so glad that we decided to go with Sa La Thai for our special day and can't wait to go back for dinner in the future! Seriously, it's so good. read more

Overall great experience - I went here with my fiance's family and I had had Thai food a few times before, but this was much more authentic and delicious. I forget what I got but it was great, and my fiance got the Pad Thai which was really good as well - I got it the next time we went. We also had the green sticky rice dessert with coconut ice cream and the fried banana dessert which were amazing. I can't wait to go back! read more

After reading all these raving reviews here we were very exited to have a great lunch at this place. To our surprise it wasn't the case. The ambiance was nice, the service was nice, but we were very disappointed in taste of everything we had (though we love Thai cuisine very much). Everything we ordered ( starting with soups and finishing with entrees ) was tasteless and watery and looked NOTHING like the pictures on their menu. The only thing we enjoyed was Sticky rice and Mango dessert. The price was over $30 for two which is not a good value for lunch ether. Sorry Sa La Thai, but it was our first and the last visit. read more

My wife and I have been here a few times and are always so impressed. The food is really great. I could eat a gallon of the coconut soup, it's amazing. Also, the service is wonderful. The waitresses are attentive and very nice. One of our favorite lunch date spots. read more

Poor service... Food was fair, but my waitress sulked at me when I told her my flavor of bubble tea was wrong, the cheese cake was hot, the bubble tea was warm. They charged 20% gratuity for a table of 5 after terrible service and even got our bill wrong. We had to go over the bill for 5minutes with a calculator with the waitress. Restaurant was not trust worthy. read more

Food excellent and portions ample. Group was pleased with everything we ordered: crab fried rice, alligator, tilapia,

Was there a couple of weeks ago and am going back tonight. I worked in Manhattan for two years and spent time in Asia, This food and atmosphere is terrific. Yes i miss Gallo Rossa which previously occupied this space but this restaurant is fantastic. The prices are incredibly reasonable and the quality is perfect. The absolute best Thai in Lancaster County. read more

I chose to go to this restaurant since it is recommended by lancaster tourist magazine. The food is OK but overpriced. The service is bad. The waitress could not communicate well... read more

Excellent food. Great service. Loved the Mock Duck and eggplant. Will definitely return.

Serious Thai. Tamarind duck was very good as was pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles. Server was efficient, gracious and warm. Menu was well encompassing. Great place for Thai food in Lancaster. read more

I've only gotten take-out from this place, but it's always delicious. I've found that it's the same thai food that you can get anywhere (but it's on par with that best one in town that you usually find and keep going back to). read more

Reasonably good Thai. Summer rolls wrapped in tough rice paper. Only taste from curious brown sauce. On their scale of 2 out of 4, my stir fried ginger shrimp was so hot I could not taste it. The shrimp itself was good quality , cooked just right, as was my wife's shrimp & scallops dish. Will return to try food at 1 out of 4 rating. read more

Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. It's byob. They will adjust spiciness to your liking and everything is very fresh. Staff is really nice too. read more

We stopped by here on our drive through town. Service was wonderful, food was average. My fried rice was very buttery/greasy. Not impressed with the boba tea. My husband enjoyed the lemongrass soup. Portions normal size not exceptionally large. Great service; okay food. read more

i've gotten take-out here and was impressed. beautiful presentation! last night, I dined-in, and my food was delish. One thing, though, I got an entree and honestly left hungry. read more

On the low side of average. The food just ok, not anything special. Also, this place is not at all family friendly, as there are precious objects on display that could easily be broken. read more

Very poor dinner. Lemon grass soup tasted like ketchup flavored broth with overcooked pieces of chicken and a few raw vegetables. Chicken Satay was 4 pieces of dried chicken on skewers with no hint of any flavor. Panang Curry Chicken again was a ketchup flavored watery broth with overcooked chicken and raw green beans. Absolutely no coconut milk flavoring. In fact, the only flavor was ketchup. Weird. Service was incredibly slow. I certainly do not understand the glowing reviews. Will not return. read more

I was craving Thai and stopped in for a late lunch one day; we were pleasantly surprised to learn of its lunch special - an entree, soup and appetizer for less than $10. Incredible deal. I had the drunken noodles -- my Thai stand by -- and was very pleased. The sauce was perfect. The spring rolls were great, too. I had one of the yogurt-y drinks and it was yummy. I'm giving it a four because I didn't have a good experience in the bathroom; it smelled like sewer and on our second visit there a few weeks later (actually the day we eloped!), the sewer smell was still there and seeped into the dining area. I understand issues; but a sign acknowledging it would be a good way to let people know they are working on the issue so people don't think it always smells like that. Also, there was a sign in the bathroom that said, "please put toilet paper in the waste basket." That was odd and there was no lid on the can; what if I had gone #2? That would just be weird. Overall, though, the place was great. I've been there three times and never have been disappointed! read more

Love this place. The eggplant dish, the dumplings, pad thai, beef and broad noodles and the seafood dishes are all delicious. The food is always great, the staff friendly, the atmosphere quiet, and you can always get a table. read more

Arguably the best Thai food I've ever had! The Pineapple Fried Rice is to die for along with their Crab Dumplings and Coconut Soup. The staff couldn't be sweeter, they are attentive without hovering and know how to make you feel welcome. I've never had a bad experience there and often like to show it off to friends from out of town. All in all, fantastic read more

This is by far the best Thai food in town! I love all the items I have tried there (especially the Drunken Noodle). They have an amazing lunch and dinner special, which you get amazing quality of the food for a very low price ($10-15). This is usually my "go-to" place to eat in the city. read more

This my favorite Thai place! My husband and I went to Thailand for our honeymoon, and when we returned, this Thai restaurant opened for business. Great variety of food, very reasonable prices, and the staff are wonderful. Our favorites include the coconut soup, Indonesian Noodle, Yellow Curry, and Pad Woon Sen. Not spicy unless you order it kicked up a notch (like we do.) You should definitely eat here! read more

This place was wonderful! We went at lunch time and ordered two lunch specials which included a choice of soup, choice of salad and choice of entree, all for a very reasonable price! The food was fresh, well prepared and presented and full of flavor. I have eaten at many Thai restaurants and I'm pretty critical of restaurants that serve "watery" curries; I was pleasantly surprised that the green curry here had a nice creamy texture and lots of flavor. Cabbage salad with Thai chili dressing was delightfully sweet and tangy and you must try the Coconut Soup...overall a great experience! Try this little gem! read more

This restaurants is great! My daughter and I had pad thai and fried rice. It was excellent! The lunch special lets u pick an appetizer, soup and main entrée! 5 stars!! read more

I really had very bad experience with the place. To start, the owner was very rude while taking the order. We ordered 2 dishes which she messed up completely. Inspite of telling her we don't want egg in our dish, she brought the dish with eggs. The dinner entree came wi th one dollop of rice which was completely insufficient, then she added more gratuity to our bill just for sitting 10 min after 9.00. Big Mistake read more

Lyndsey , our server, was attentive, proficient and very pleasant. We enjoyed the crab dumplings, shrimp pad thai and the red curry with chicken. All dishes were fresh tasting and very flavorful. The shrimp was firm and the chicken tender. The warm plum pudding and the sweet and creamy, premise-made coconut ice-cream were delicious. We sat for hours chatting without being rushed. Our "byob" wine was welcomed, glasses quickly proffered, and our bottle and opened and poured for us. Free parking on street outside. Casual, warm, comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend. read more

I came here about a year ago for lunch with my mother on a Friday. It was immediately off-putting that they had very specific menus based on events, or rules and regulations...first Friday's no lunch specials, open these hours , closed these hours..it was strange. They appeared very concerned with money..The two of us couldn't care less what we paid, we just wanted great thai food. We explicately stated we wanted dinner portions from the menu. Tragic FAIL..I got chicken satay, which was dry as fu..the masamun curry came out on a flat plate with rice, and the portion was appropriate for and eight year old. And, it wasn't great...My mom ordered a vegetable and pineapple dish;,which she noted were canned pineapples..we left still hungry, and slightly robbed...go to Uthai for great food, or make the trek up Harrisburg for equally good Thai. Additionally, my friend close once lived two blocks away, stopped going here because the management was arguing with her about the freshness of the chicken(which was bad...) this didn't color my review, just saying.. read more

I have patroned this restaurant dozens of times with varying experiences but my latest trip was extremely disappointing. My friend and I arrived for lunch at 2:25. Lunch hours are 12-3. We walked into an empty restaurant and were told the kitchen was about to close. We were given the option to order take out or stay for lunch if we could eat quickly. After deciding to stay, we were given menus and asked to place our orders immediately. My friend is unfamiliar with Thai cuisine and was forced to select items haphazardly that he did not enjoy. Throughout the duration of our extremely brief meal we felt extremely rushed and uncomfortable with multiple employees staring at us. One would think that a struggling restaurant would encourage customers, not push them away. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why the restaurant was empty. All this being said, the food is often quite good and reasonably priced. But this being the second episode of this nature, I will likely not return to Sa La Thai. read more
