No frills, glitz or pomp, just extremely tasty sub sandwiches. It's virtually impossible to go there a few times without ending up on a first name basis with the owner/operator Mark, or getting pulled into conversation with other customers while ordering and waiting. If you're not going for snooty accoutrements and veneer, but instead for high quality food with a friendly feel, you'll love it, and if you're in it for those other things, you'll have your mind changed real fast. Yum. And to make it easy on people that tend to shy away from not knowing the protocol at a new place: the menu can be found online somewhere on social media I believe, and stays mostly the same, but you need to actually go there to see what it is exactly for that day. Cash only, you walk up and order and wait. Each sub comes with choice of chips or drink, and it's something of the honor system with grabbing your chips/drink and checking out (which will make more sense when you see things for yourself). Don't expect to deal with exact change in coins or anything. Kind of treat it like lemonade stand rules - good people just round up to nice even increments and say thank you.

The store it self was unique because it's a liquor store but is has Bbq to go, pizzas, fresh rib eyes, cheeses, take and bake food, sandwiches, liquor, beer, wine, cigars etc. Unfortunately the Bbq is cooked in batches and sold out of the deli case cold that you have to reheat, not a big deal for me. I followed my rule that if you smell smoke when you walk in, I'm getting the full slab even though it's wrapped in foil and I couldn't see them. The full slab was very reasonable at $16.95 by the way. At first unwrapping I'm like dam nice bark and look how meaty the rack is, I hate that some places give you thin and bone racks so thank you for a nice rack. After heating up a third of the rack the bark came to life and was tasty, thick and sticky. The ribs were very meaty/tasty with that nice pink smoke ring but not very Smokey. The rib meat was moist and pulled clean off the bone. While there I bought a package of jalapeño meat sticks and a Czech beer from 1842, Pilsner Uequell imported it says. For a liquor store doing Bbq I'm giving them 4 stars because the ribs were good and they use meaty racks and at $16.95 for a full rack it's a good value. I would definitely get these take and bake Bbq ribs again and try other Bbq items from here.

Cons: - Corn bread, which was highly touted, was underwhelming...I'd sub it with a different side. - Pulled pork was a little tasteless, but this might be due to the fact that the other meats we tried were so good. We were looking to try something different and after looking around on Yelp we settled on Boondocks. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were pretty surprised to find that it was mostly empty, although they had a ton of people working. We were promptly seated by the hostess after being warmly greeted and ordered a few drinks. We were meeting some friends so we ordered the brisket egg rolls and an appetizer to get us started. When they were delivered our waitress, who was really nice, gave a quick rundown of the different BBQ sauce options and we were off. The egg rolls were amazing, crispy wonton wrapper filled with smoked brisket and cheddar cheese and a touch of BBQ sauce. We tried all of the BBQ sauces, with the winner being their regular BBQ mixed with a little bit of the mustard BBQ sauce. These were awesome and we ended up saving one, which was hard, for our friends to try out when they arrived. When our friends got there we decided to order 2 of the sampler platters so that we could get a good benchmark. The sampler came with 4 sides so we went with seasoned fries, mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, and potato salad. The other things that were included in the sampler were corn bread, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. The ribs were phenomenal and I would definitely just order these stand alone next time. The brisket was also very tasty. The pulled pork was average, in my opinion, so I am counting that as a miss. The sides were all good, with the exception of the corn bread. I though that it was under cooked and didn't match the hype. Overall a killer late lunch/early dinner and this would have probably been a 5* review if I had just ordered the ribs with the seasoned fries and subbed the corn bread with any other side that we tried. We will definitely be back.
