Outside they have a nice patio with shade, unfortunately it is still a bit too hot for outdoor dining. The staff welcomed us inside, they are very friendly and kind. The menu has plenty of options. Unfortunately the selection of combos was lacking. Most places will offer a roll or two of sushi with a soup and salad, for a value. Not here. We got three rolls of specialty sushi and a seaweed salad. I can't say what exactly the rolls were called, one was with lobster, and two with tuna. The salad was very fresh and a bit zesty. The rolls were also very fresh, flavorful and so delicious! My favorite was the spicy one with tuna. Unfortunately, my brother wasn't fed from our rolls of sushi. He also ordered the fried pork rice. I wasn't impressed by it. It was a lot of rice and it was very dry. The sushi was excellent, but pricey.

My to-go go-to choice has been the chicken w garlic sauce combo, which comes w fried rice and an egg roll. MS gives you a generous portion. Lots of chicken w numerous veggies (broccoli, carrot coins, water chestnuts, gr. peppers, onions, celery, baby corn, snow peas, mushroom caps). Everything blended together w the spicy garlic sauce. The egg roll is a bit bland, but at least non-greasy. Pork fried rice is more like pork yellow rice, but just as good. I like the fact that you can pick your own condiments from a set-up outside the window. Plus you get a fortune cookie as part of the deal. In all the times I've ordered, food has always been ready as advertised (usually +/- 15 minutes). I'm a fan. 4 spicy stars for the place w two celestial bodies in its name!

I can't attest to anything else on the menu since I didn't have it but my experience was totally fine. I decided to eat inside because I didn't feel like walking home yet. Looks like mostly a take out operation but they have a few tables. Feel like they don't really expect people to eat the food inside the actual establishment which is fine, who cares. Took them maybe 10 minutes to get my food to me, even though they were apparently swamped with take out orders. I probably saw 20 people come and pick up when I was inside. Wouldn't say it's astounding or award winning food or anything but it's exactly what I needed and nothing less. The owner's kid was relaxing on a lounge chair watching his iPad while I was honestly jealous of how chilled out he was. Nice family business. No notes.

My wife had a craving for rice during our last night in Connecticut, so stopped into this strip…read moremall restaurant near our hotel for an early dinner. The food (taste and value) and service was solid. It's an interesting name (like others, knew a 'Jimmy Chen' while growing up...Chen being a very popular surname in China and in the Chinese community in the U.S.). They have a good website, so was able to scout the menu before arriving and knew that we had missed their lunch specials. It wasn't too busy inside, and there was plenty of parking in the small strip mall (Sophia's Plaza). We were greeted immediately, led to a booth, and offered a free appetizer of deep fried wonton skins with sweet/sour sauce (appreciated since not a common practice on the West Coast). Chen's is marketed as Asian Cuisine which in this part of the country means Chinese (Chinese-American classics) and Japanese (sushi and bento) with a little bit of Thai (Pad Thai and Pineapple fried rice). We were too late to take advantage of the lunch menu special ($9.25 or $10.25 during 11:00 - 3:00), but Jimmy's offers the same as combo specials (anytime but priced higher at $13.25). Our server stated that the lunch option does have (slightly) smaller portions, and doesn't include the egg roll. We ordered two plates, shared between the two of us: C4 Beef Broccoli and C19 Garlic Shrimp, each coming with a big, fat egg roll well deep fried and a rich (greasy with chinese bbq pork) fried rice. The garlic sauce was really good, not too garlicky (noticing how a 'garlic' Chinese dish has quite a bit less garlic than a 'garlic' Italian dish). I loved that they used 5 really jumbo shrimps, each big enough to be split into 4 bites. The vegetables (broccoli, peppers, water chestnuts, and celery) were sliced thin and cooked well (though didn't have the distinctive wok-fried smokiness that i love). The beef dish wasn't as good...decent sauce and plenty of broccoli, but the sliced beef wasn't good...very mushy, almost parboiled, similar to the versions at buffets or a Panda Express. There is a full service bar inside, along with a sushi bar manned by a chef. For us, service was very good, with our waters being constantly refilled. Payment was done via clover (though done away from the table). It was a good last meal during our trip.

You can eat in. The ambiance is not romantic or cozy. What it lacks in ambiance it truly makes up for it in the taste, quality and portion sizes. The menu has something for most. The House Noodles (no shrimp please) are my go-to! They were my late husband's fave (with shrimp) and you do get a very nice portion. As with everything I have ever ordered, and I've lived in Windsor 23 years, things are cooked to your request, they are thorough, and best of all I have never had to wait forever to pick up my order. They have expanded their menu! They participate with popular delivery services. I choose to pick up as I have the time to and do not like others handling my order. I have never had an incorrect order. The staff is always polite. This is a small gem of a find. Try them once and I'll bet you too will keep coming back to try other menu items. Enjoy!!!!

However, they managed to up the game again when they presented another off the menu dish, pork kidney dish 爆腰花。 It's one of my absolute fav. Chinese dishes that's very rare among typical Chinese restaurants here, previously I had to go to Boston Chinatown to get it. Pacifica's rendition absolutely nailed it, super clean taste with added green for a healthy twist, 6 out of 5 stars! 2/22/2023 Continue to evaluate the Chinese menu. Todays lunch 红烧肉 earned another 5 stars. I rarely eat this dish because it uses the pork belly with fat, but the version here has the most lean meat. It also has a good portion of vegetables making it more healthy. The taste was spot on, really really awesome Feb. 2023. Pacifica continued to impress. Today I tried their Lamb noodle soup for lunch, not on the menu, not even on the Chinese menu. Only available from time to time but you had to ask. Lamb stew is bone in, authentic Chinese style with daikon & fresh baby Bok Choy, so flavorful that I felt being teleported back to Beijing. Amazing dish, I am giving it 6 out of 5 stars. Along with previous fav. of eggplant with beef, I am in love with this place! PS. Remember to ask for the wider knife cut or hand pulled noodle, they are epic! otherwise you get default skinny noodles.

They were very quick to make this order on the spot. So service here goes against the grain of what I've read on other reviews. We were happy with the level of service. We had takeout so we can't really comment on ambiance. My wife went in and felt that it was clean and the people were very friendly and customer focused. Prices are good compared to other Asian restaurants in the area. The food wasn't world class but it wasn't terrible either. I had pad Thai chicken, it wasn't very spicy, and was just fair IMO. The flavors all seemed a bit blunted. My wife and daughter had sushi, again it wasn't world class but they've had better and fresher. Nothing wrong but nothing stellar either. The Kani crab salad was very good. The broccoli with garlic sauce was fresh, and delicious. So some hits, some misses, solid middle of the road for this encounter. We'll try again and give an update.
