I ordered takeout for dinner from here on a Sunday evening. I ordered the pupu platter and a quart of hot and sour soup. The food was ready in 15 minutes and nice and hot when I got there to pick it up. The food in the pupu platter was good, I especially like the ribs. Cooked well and tasty. Originally tried ordering on their website but unfortunately our home wasn't close to delivery (we're only 2 miles away) so that was a bit confusing. Ordered through Uber eats instead and was met with an insane difference w/ price on certain items (boneless ribs being 4/5$ more for their small and large sizes ex: their large was 14.25 and ubereats was around 19$!). When I finally got my food, I also found a small pebble in my dish! Ubereats was very helpful with the process but I'm still upset about the entire experience. There's not a lot of choices in Windsor for Chinese food. Since the fire at the Bistro, our only choice had been the Bamboo Garden, which was not bad but we crave something different. Grabbed a bunch of take out from Beijing for the 1st time, I really wanted to like this place, as we are almost desperate. But my Analysis below do not support my wishes: Hot & sour soup: 0 star, worst ever. Lots of veggies don't belong. What gives? Don't want to toss out the leftovers? This is the 1st time I threw away hot & sour soup, ever. Pupu platter: 3 star, average food but 4 star in value. For 12 bucks, it's got a of varieties. The "Peking Restaurant" sign over the door makes you think the restaurant is up and running. The banner of flags over the front door tell you the same. But when you walk into this brand spanking new restaurant, you have your doubts. The walls are absolutely bare. The large menu boards you typically see festooned over the service counter of these sort of take-out joints were not there- in fact nothing was there except paint. Same with the coolers of soft drinks you typically see as well- Missing in Action. Well OK, so much for the feng shui interior decorator report. I went in for lunch today and I was the only dining room customer for my entire stay, which ended up being a bit on the long side because an egg drop soup and order of steamed dumplings took 20 minutes from ordering to ending up on my table. Let me repeat, I was the only patron there. Were they swamped with take out orders to explain the delay? No way. The phone rang once and one guy came in to pick up a bag of food. So I really can't explain why 2 simple things took 20 minutes. The soup was flavorful, and served piping hot. The dumplings were terrific- eight moist and tasty morsels. So at least the food was pretty good. I realize the place is new, but my first experience there wasn't very good at all. Crab rangoon is delicious here, cooked perfectly on two different occasions when i was in the area.

I have been getting consistently great chinese food at this take out spot in Windsor center. I usually get the Chicken with String Beans or the Triple Garlic which has shrimp, chicken and beef with green peppers and onions. Both come in a delicious sauce which I wish I could reproduce at home! They always have the food ready in ten minutes and it's a great quick meal! read more

I live very close, so I come here often. This is your average Chinese restaurant with all of the same options that every takeout place has. I always order the boneless bbq combo with pork fried rice. The meet is typically covered on sauce (I have had dry meat at other places). I always walk to the place to pick up my food, so I don't know how their delivery service is. Decent Chinese delivery. Steamed dumplings were good, and came with a great dipping sauce. The chow fun noodles with roast pork were okay, but I'd probably pass on the wonton soup. The food is okay here. Decent egg rolls, pork fried rice and all of your standard dishes. Chicken and Broccoli, pork Lo Mein, etc. the sweet and sour soup not very good and tasted off (?) biggest complaint was that the staff is not the friendliest, yell at one another In front of customers, act like they're doing you a favor by answering questions. Peking is your run of the mill friendly neighborhood Chinese restaurant. They have just about the same menu as every other mainstream Chinese takeout. Why they have 4 star from me is for the fact they have been ever improving their restaurant over the years. When they first opened they were decent, not to bad, but not great. Then then got new management, those prices rose to new heights, and there quality dropped. But about a year or two ago they got it just right. The food now is what you should get from a Chinese takeout establishment. Hot food, great flavor, with a not too bad price range. I have tried pretty much every lunch, combo dinner, and chef special over the last 6 years of them being open. And they quality and flavor has risen substantially. Also the staff and management are actually nice(unlike the last). They say hello, thank you, even sometimes reward you for being a loyal customer. They did take away the coupons but that is not a biggie. So if you want good Chinese food give them a try. You might be surprised. read more

I was turned out to this place because of the proximity to my work. The restaurant was sparkling clean. The boneless spare ribs were off the hook good and they were REAL ribs! The spring rolls were great and the prices were inexpensive. Order of sweet and sour pork was just right, the only thing I wouldn't eat again was their scallops which are rather inexpensive, they looked and tasted like fish flavored bottle caps. Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had and I spent a month in China! The chicken and broccoli was absolutely delicious. The chicken was so tender and the broccoli cooked just right. My daughter's sweet and sour pork was equally as good. We came in close to closing but they weren't bothered by that and gave us kind and considerate service. We used to order from here so regularly, they included a menu which had printed on the front, 'minimum order for delivery-12 dollars'. One evening I ordered my usual and was told the minimum delivery order was $15. I replied that I have a menu right in front of me, that they delivered in the past week, saying $12. Well, they were firm in insisting I was wrong. It must be my lying eyes, I guess. Haven't ordered from them since. I hope their insistence on $3 was worth the $100 worth of business they lost since then. BTW, they charge a delivery fee anyway, so I do not understand what their problem was. I was in this town for training and wanted some Chinese food and came across this place (Peking Chinese Restaurant). They do delivered to my hotel room. I've ordered the Steamed dumpling (8) $5.15 and Singapore Mei Fun $8.95. The food was very tasty. The steamed dumpling skin was thinker than I like. It was more like pot stickers. It was good anyways. The Singapore Mei Fun was a very big order and I made it for two meals. It too, was very flavorful and it was full of ingredients that I expected to be in it. There was a delivery charge of $1.00. They have a full menu that included Moo Shu Specialties, lo mein, chef's specials, combination dinners and lunch specials. They also have a special diet menu too. They also have fried specialties menu. I like fried food but didn't order any from this place afraid of it being not good. I gave it a 3 star since I have not try many from the menu. I'm from SF and of course it is not fair comparing it. I was disappointed that they forgot to give me any napkin with the to go order but did remember my fortune cookie. I hope this review help those who come by to this town. read more

My husband works close by and tried this restaurant when it first opened. Not great, but not bad. We tried again and have been pleased. As with most new restaurants, it takes time to get your footings. If you have patience and keep trying, you will end up with a good restaurant that survives, and God knows that Windsor needs more restaurants. Actually, my husband is picking up dinner as I write.
