My friend and I overstayed and we were never kicked out (sorry my guy, the wine was flowing so the convo kept flowing) I had a sauvignon blanc to start which was crisp and delicious. The ambiance is cute with a few different tables and a communal table for couples/ singles. Bottles of wine adorn the built in library walls and it does seem cozy. I love the original typewriter in the bar area. We sat at the shared table, pulling up QR codes for the menu. We had to flag the only one person serving the entire bar down so that we could order drinks and food. She took our drink order, and then probably about 30 minutes went by after we were eyeing her left and right, it was clear to us that she was too busy or not making eye contact because she couldn't keep up with what was happening. Or at least I thought. After watching her have a full-blown conversation with the other person working there up at the bar area, we finally were able to get some food in, as my bf flagged her down. Olives for $7. A couple had pits that they missed I guess. But only about 12 olives total. Absolutely ridiculous. The BBQ chicken flatbread? Perhaps not. The dough was like a matzoh cracker. The chicken tasted like bland boring boiled chicken. After having been there for about 45 minutes with no food and only a couple of very strong Manhattans that were not well made, I was starting to get loopy so I wolfed down the flatbread even though it tasted like garbage. While I think this spot has a lot of potential, the service was so lackluster in the cutest of little towns, I would not come back.

Dark, moody, sexy...exactly the kind of atmosphere you want when you're getting dressed up, grabbing cocktails and catching up with a girlfriend. We grabbed seats at the bar and the bartender was fantastic. She welcomed us right away, asked if it was our first time, and gave us a quick rundown of the menu and cocktails. For our first drink, we both ordered the Black Widow...having absolutely no idea that it came with a whole presentation. Needless to say, we were entertained. The drinks here aren't just drinks -- they're part of the experience. For dinner, I ordered the gnocchi but swapped out the regular sauce for the spicy marinara they use with the calamari. GREAT decision. The spicy marinara worked so well with the gnocchi and I'd absolutely order it that way again. Pricing felt very fair for what you're getting. The food and cocktails were both high quality, but you're also paying for the ambiance and overall experience -- and Oak & Olive nails that part. Great drinks, great food, fantastic atmosphere and exactly what our girls' night needed. We'll definitely be back!

When we finally wanted to make a move to go during Valentine's, it was temporarily closed. Alas, we had to wait until the end of year for my birthday when it reopened to try it out. So I my anticipation and expectations were quite high at this point. This place really is more like a 2.5 star BUT I wanted to sprinkle a little recognition to the very solicitous (and attractive) servers as well as available parking. This place is billed as a French restaurant but their updated menu was completely devoid of all French items. This was a major bummer as I love French food and style of cooking. No duck, escargot, confit, nada. It was a bland menu with common Italian dishes. I ordered the pasta carbonara for my entree and was thoroughly disappointed. They used bucatini (while this is one of my fave pasta shapes) which is all wrong for carbonara. There was a lack of sauce as you can see from the picture and no eggy flavor at all. It was drenched in parmesan flakes and they didn't even use guanciale or even pancetta! The portion was too small for a pasta dish and for the high price. Our appetizer of pork belly was delish but I would've gone easier on the frying. BF's entree of spatchcock chicken was great as well. I ate a lot of that instead of my entree... Not impressed that in a place like this, they asked if we wanted to tack on bread service for $5.99. Wow, they can't even include it like most restaurants? Non merci! I look forward to going to a real French restaurant a lot closer to me with real French dishes and perhaps even free bread/rolls, literally SOMEthing. The newer one in Chagrin Falls looks tempting and authentic!

They have a large selection of house wines as well as other brands. The server was kind but didn't seem very knowledgeable about the wine. All the dishes are enormous and meant to be shared. We shared the goat cheese with blackberry preserves and a Genoa flatbread and even with the three of us, we had a lot to take home with us. The duo and the flatbread were both incredible. The flatbread is actually two whole flatbreads and the dip was the size of a dinner plate. They were kind to get us an extra loaf of bread to go with the dip because we ran out. Their kitchen closed at 8 even though they were open until 9. That was about annoying because we considered ordering an additional dish but worked out fine since the dishes were so large.

We finally went this past Sunday for Father's Day and had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Service was excellent; very attentive and helpful wait staff and the place was very clean and welcoming. Food was outstanding; we started with a couple of their garlic cheese breadsticks and coupled with their fresh table bread we almost got filled up before the mains arrived. Next up, salads which were also fresh and paired with their house Italian dressing, outstanding, and we needed more of the fresh bread (had three hungry young men with us). Last up our entrees and we had a little of everything and it is all yummy. Wife had a Cobb salad that looked excellent and was. One son had the pasta with meatballs plus a cauliflower crust pizza, another son had a regular pizza with pepperoni, onions and sausage, our friend had the chicken parm and I had the veal parm. My veal was incredibly tender and delicious (waitress recommendation btw) and not much was left on the table. Four soft drinks, one very full pour old fashion (for me), two appetizers and six entrees and the total bill was $197 which was a hell of a good deal for the dinner we were served.
