I highly recommend Liberty Auto in Fair Haven, VT. The used car I purchased (with the extended…read morewarranty) is clean, in great condition and was inspected with no issues found. The offered price was fair and within my price range. The staff were friendly, professional, responsive to all my questions and had excellent attention to detail. The paperwork was processed quickly and efficiently. I very much appreciate their professionalism and kind, knowledgeable service. The whole process could not have gone more smoothly. Many thanks to Liberty Auto for making the process so seamless and selling me a terrific car. - Cynthia

If I could mark this a ZERO stars I would. See my first review after we bought the car: Just wanted…read moreto WARN people we bought a car in October. I love the car but not all the problems we have had no willingness for anything to be done about it. The car did not get done over as promised. We were promised a tune-up before we took ownership and since we have had to do a tune-up already that obviously was a LIE. The car had many air fresheners in and come to find out there is mold growing under the carpets in the back because the sunroof drains are clogged and have been leaking for probably a year. Then there was the lovely salesperson who did nothing but LIE to us. We told him what we could afford he told us what payment would be guaranteed and we are paying $ 300.00 more than we discussed. We had to go back 3 times to complete the paperwork. he let us take the car without the paperwork signed as he didn't even know how to work the computer he asked me to help him and I don't work there. he also added a $4000.00 warranty that was never discussed with us and is useless. When I emailed him about all this he did not acknowledge anything I just asked me the third time we had to go in to get the paperwork signed he asked me if I was still mad. I guess that is what you get when you hire a drunk who passes out on the couch in the showroom. I have reached out a few more times to Liberty and obviously, they don't care about their customers or repeat business. I had heard very good things about Liberty but that was not our experience. To present time: 03/06/2024: Our water pump went and for people that do not know it is in the middle of the engine of a 2017 Ford Explorer. That useless warranty that Liberty sold us with the lies they tell you that the bank requires it was just that useless and the bank does not require it as we checked. It is a drivetrain warranty so our water pump that is in the middle of the engine should have been covered but guess what it was not. Conveniently everything else in the motor was named but that. So pretty sure Liberty gets a kickback for lying and selling these to customers and when it can be used for repairs the item that needs to be covered just falls off mysteriously and is not covered. The whole thing is a SCAM. My car was diagnosed by my trusted mechanic but due to the cost, we were trying to use the warranty that no one accepts it had to go into Liberty to have it looked at. We were quoted about $4000 to have it fixed at a dealership. If you want your car diagnosed correctly or fixed correctly THIS is not the place. Chris Murray has to be one of the most incompetent mechanics around not to mention super rude. He insisted my mechanic who is one of the best in Rutland was wrong and it was my freeze plug. I had to have my mechanic call him to tell him he was absolutely incorrect. He still said it was my freeze plug which at that point I ended up calling him an idiot and hung up on him as there was not enough time in the day to deal with that type of stupidity. So needless to say the warranty covered nothing and we paid out of pocket for our trusted mechanic who was able to fix it for half the price and fixed it correctly. If you are going to have a head mechanic please make sure he knows what he is doing and did not get his auto experience out of a cracker jack box. As for management, they are just as useless. All the issues we had with this purchase they have never reached out to try and fix anything except a response to my Google review. I did reach out when we were having all our issues in the beginning just with no response. People are going to use who they want I understand that. Just hoping my review can save someone the headache that we have been subjected to by Liberty Auto

If I could give negative stars I would. I am sharing my experience to help other consumers make…read moreinformed decisions. In February 2025, I brought my 2020 Lincoln Corsair to this dealership because the driver's seat would not recline. I paid over $900 for parts and labor to have the issue repaired. In January 2026, the exact same problem occurred--the driver's seat again would not recline. I returned to the dealership and was told this time it involved a different seat motor and would cost nearly $1,000 to repair. I declined the repair. Despite declining the work, I was charged $220 in diagnostic fees simply to be told that I would need to spend additional money on a problem that had already been repaired at significant cost. From a consumer standpoint, this was frustrating, as the prior repair did not resolve the issue. I attempted to resolve this matter directly with dealership management through email, certified mail and phone. I did not receive a response until after posting a public review. When I was contacted via email, it was stated that multiple attempts had been made to reach me; however, no prior phone calls or emails were received, despite my contact information being on file. So, I called them back, left a message and still have not heard from anyone. Shame on you Greenwich Ford!

I asked the dealership to take a look at a seatbelt that was slow to recoil. The seatbelt worked,…read moreit recoiled and locked, just was a little slow at the the end. I though this problem would be something simple like recoiling the seatbelt or adjusting the spring unit and for convenience had them take a look as I was bringing my car in for an oil change anyway. Lesson learned - I should have YouTubed it first. They charged me a $225 "diagnostic fee" which they did not disclose to me prior to service, only to inform me I needed to replace the entire seatbelt unit which would cost $1200 (on top of the $225 I already had to pay for nothing). They returned by vehicle to me in worse shape than I gave it - with the entire seat belt uncoiled on my seat, grease and blood on my seat and around the seat belt. I decided to look on YouTube to find out how to replace the part myself, which would cost me $500 for the part. Immediately, I came across many videos that recommended trying to clean the seatbelt and D-ring holder - which, by the way, worked perfectly and the seatbelt now works normal. I could actually see the grime coming off the plastic D-ring holder. If YouTube could tell me what was wrong by a few key words, I feel like they could have suggested a solution without even looking at my car. If they employ master mechanics, as they explained to me , shouldn't they know something this simple? I asked to speak to the manager, he didn't come talk to me. I used to like this place, but it seems like the new owner/manager isn't doing very well based on other reviews like mine. This isn't even the first time I have had an issue. This was their second chance for me.

We were there to look at what our options were and how much we were looking at for a payment we didn't even have a dollar in our pocket YET WE LEFT WITH A CAR. At first he was cool and chill explaining to my man with no credit he wasn't going to be approved for a truck like he wanted. So the salesman showed him something in his budget which was a 2016 Subaru Impreza told my man he has these cars for credit building and the payment would be 330 a month. He was telling us what we wanted to hear. When we called for insurance we were told a number which mad it so we wouldn't be able to cover everything as we had a newborn at the time. When we told the salesman that we couldnt afford the insurance so we weren't gonna move forward with the car. The salesman payed the first month of insurance himself so he could continue pushing us into the car well we left with it and have made the payment work. Here a year later I'm finding out he over sold us by 10 thousand dollars we took it to a brand dealership and they put the car through Kelly blue book and the car is only work 6 thousand at the most and he sold it to us for 16 thousand plus a 3thousand dollar warranty so we can't even trade the car in and we have already spent near to more than 2 thousand dollars on repairs and to find out the whole exhaust is rusted through. This place is a scam and we are stuck with this rust bucket cuz no bank will approve us for a loan for a car when we have to roll over 10 thousand ontop of the new car.
