My experience with TWEEDS Custom Suits was extremely disappointing and raises serious concerns…read moreabout their business practices. I visited their Riverside location on Saturday, September 5th, where the initial interaction with Mike and Shawn was friendly--until after the fitting was completed and they finally disclosed the price. I expected a premium cost, maybe around $1,000. Instead, I was told the jacket alone would be $3,400 and the shirt $1,000, but hey, the slacks were a deal at $595. When I tried to back out, Mike immediately applied high‑pressure sales tactics to push the order through, despite my clear discomfort.
Because I understood their "No Returns" policy for custom suits, I made sure to cancel the order 58 minutes after placing it, long before any work could begin--especially since it was a three‑day weekend and they could not start until Tuesday. I emailed their customer service and copied Don (who was the person I was told to contact with any issues on the order), clearly stating that I was canceling the order, that the decision was final, and that I wanted no further contact.
On Tuesday morning, September 8th, Mike texted me saying he had "reached out a few times yesterday regarding processing your refund," which confirmed he had received my cancellation. But then he claimed they had "already began construction," which is impossible given the timeline and the fact that I never requested a rush order. When I pointed this out, he shifted to trying to "save this order," offering "additional value," including an extra suit or a partial refund. He even acknowledged that if I disputed the charge, I would "likely win."
Eventually, after I reiterated that I simply wanted a full refund, Mike responded:
"All good John! Thanks for checking us out. Would love to work with you in the future when timing is better."
At that point, I believed the matter was resolved.
It wasn't.
Days later, the charge was still on my credit card. When I asked Mike whether the refund had been issued, he replied:
"I spoke to the owner and he informed me that I must stick to our no refunds policy. At this point you'll have to dispute the charge with your credit card company."
This was after he had already agreed to refund me, after admitting I would win a dispute, and after acknowledging my timely cancellation. No suit was made. No materials were ordered. No work was done. Yet they are now attempting to keep my money anyway.
A return policy is not a cancellation policy, and refusing to cancel an unfulfilled order is unacceptable. Their behavior--high‑pressure sales, contradictory statements, false claims about starting construction, agreeing to a refund and then reversing course--reflects extremely poor customer service and business practices that border on fraud.
I strongly recommend avoiding TWEEDS Custom Suits.
