She listened to all my concerns about my gown being too long and catching under my heels and was able to get the alterations done extremely quickly! The price was very reasonable for my wedding gown that had many appliqués and a delicate tule material, as well as the quick turnaround that she provided. Due to scheduling, I only had 3 weeks between trying on my wedding dress (bought off the rack) and flying out to my international destination wedding. Upon my arrival in Sarasota, I zipped my dress, and it did not go up past my waist--oh no! I went to another Sarasota tailor who saw the dress and me in it, and simply said, "No." I spent two days wallowing and online browsing when I went back to the internet to see if there was anything else to be done. THANK THE INTERNET FOR FINDING WENDY! I made an appointment via phone for later that afternoon and was greeted in her shop by the kindest, most easy-going woman, I could not help but feel more relaxed. I tried on the dress and came out of the changing room to explain my thoughts. Wendy quietly listened and simply said, "there are so many things we can do to make this dress perfect." Music to my ears! She gave me 12 days for any last minute slimming down and completely altered the bodice of the dress in something ridiculous like 2 days--I kid you not. The dress was 3 layers, the top of which was lace. To add room to zip, she hemmed lace from the skirt of the dress which she made into fabric panels under the arms on both sides, allowing more space and the zipper to zip. Wendy charged me an unbelievably reasonable rate for the level of imagination and skill that went into this work and I was thrilled to double her requested rate for the impeccable work and piece of mind she gave me during a very stressful time. Wendy, you are a godsend and I am so grateful for your time, patience, work and opinions. I only wish I could get married again to enlist your work again! She asked me about what I was looking for and looked at some of my inspiration photos of a dress and picked out 5 dresses for me to try on. While I was changing she provided bubbly for my bridesmaid and mom to sip on. It was a very intimate and personal experience as we had the whole shop to ourselves for the whole 90 minutes. Laura was very friendly and helpful with her dress selection and she even found a matching veil to my dress. She found dresses that matched very similar to what I was looking for around my price range. Thanks to her I was able to say yes to dress! I am very excited about my gown and coming back for a fitting and alterations in the coming months.

I booked my appointment on line, because google, yelp & their website shows hours of operation as being open for business on Fridays. When they called me to cancel the appointment I was told the store is only open on Thursdays & Saturdays and has been operating that way the entire month of December 2025. The manager then tried to blame me (never apologizing!) when I was upset about the incredibly disrespectful treatment I was receiving, and not even recognizing my wasted time. Note the photo attached still showing the hours they are open which isn't even close to being accurate. And again, why was I able to book an appointment for a day and time when they aren't even open?! If this is the way they run their online presence, can you imagine the nightmare it must be to work with them ordering a dress and then managing its alterations!

The gown was altered perfectly and the communication with the proprietor was excellent! I couldn't have found the most perfect gown. If you don't know already, these gowns are design by Camilyn Beth. Her fabrics are wisely chosen for ease of wearing and the designs are simple elegance. When I was in my 20s I would call it a "smart" looking dress because it was something Jackie O or Hepburn would wear. I can't thank her enough for everything! Kara completely styled my look for the day - everything from the dress, veil, and jewelry. My mom worked with Kara to surprise me with a matching bracelet for my necklace. She even recommended the Ana Molinari Salon for hair and make-up, which provided marvelous service as well. Mirta, the seamstress, is amazing as well. I was a destination bride and came down for the weekend for my first fitting. I went to the shop on a Friday morning for my first fitting and within in 24 hours the adjustments were made and the bustle was pinned to see how it looked with my shoes. Also, Mirta made my veil which turned out beautifully! She is absolutely amazing! I went to bridal boutiques in St. Pete, Tampa and the other bridal shops in Sarasota, even went in New York.
