I brought my daughter's bridesmaid dress here to have some fit issues addressed and a cummerbund type sash added to the waist band. The seamstress/owner spoke very broken, heavily accented English, and I became nervous that she may not be understanding exactly what we were requesting. She spoke rapidly and talked over me when I was trying to explain. I let her speak her piece, then explained again - even showing her a photograph, and my daughter and I held the fabric up to the waist line in a tangible mock up of the desired outcome. We also demonstrated each area of alteration (neckline and bodice) that we wanted adjusted. The seamstress repeatedly, rapidly assured me that the outcome would be "perfect, just like Hollywood" and that we would "be very happy". She stated she could do the work quickly and for a very good price. When she told me $120, I stated I thought that was very high (the dress only cost $80 -- not a very expensive dress for sure!). She told me the work would be perfect and I would be very happy. I was under tight time constraints so I decided to just go ahead. I asked if we needed to come in for a fitting during the process. She said "no, just come pick up on Wednesday, it will be perfect". On Wednesday, we arrived and she had the dress on her machine, in pieces - not nearly ready. I panicked and insisted she let my daughter try on what could be tried on, and sure enough it was atrocious! The cummerbund was attached at a wonky diagonal angle across the bust line rather than at the waist and the neckline had not been adjusted according to our specifications. She began to tell me how difficult the work was and how my daughter could just pull down on one side of the dress to even up the skewed placement of the sash! I insisted that she correct the issues and she grudgingly agreed to, then assured me it would be done properly and by the following day. I reminded her that we were leaving for the wedding on Friday so there was no room for error on delivery here. Needless to say I was having great anxiety that my daughter's horrendous dress was going to spoil her cousin's wedding! We were able to pick up the dress the following day so my daughter did have a dress to wear in the wedding, but I did not appreciate the seamstress spending several minutes telling me how hard the work was, how late she stayed up to get it done, how she should have charged even more money, etc. etc. The finished product was substandard with the cummerbund poorly sewn with the pleating being uneven and the two edges at the side-zipper not even (seamstress suggested my daughter "just keep the arm down to her side to cover that -- no one will notice"), the neckline was not done to our satisfaction and the whole experience was stressful and horribly over priced! NEVER, EVER USE THIS WOMAN! DO NOT BELIEVE THE SIGN ON HER WINDOW THAT SAYS SHE DOES EXCELLENT WORK FOR REASONABLE PRICES! read more
