Matter-of-fact, I need to make another appointment with her as I've two very long dresses that were for formal wear and I now wish to have them shortened so I can wear them for casual events. By the way I am petite and am under 5 ft. tall so finding something to fit me off the rack is almost impossible, and the last dress I bought was a size 0 I also had a very old skirt that I adored but it was starting to fade and show its age. Kathleen used the old skirt as a pattern and created a new one out of similar fabric. The new skirt has become one of my favorites. Kathleen is very pleasant to do business with, she is attentive and listens to what I want. I have and will continue to recommend her to my friends and family. I also found her prices very reasonable. (After reading the bad reviews I find myself perplexed as she was always very courteous and friendly when I dealt with her.

I had a great tailor in D.C. with whom I spent a small fortune, and I've been looking for one here for 6 years. I had two jackets altered, sleeves hemmed (no buttons) and pants hemmed. I was between jobs and I needed a suit for interviews, so I asked for that piece to be rushed. I dropped off the items, and picked up the suit jacket in time for my interview. I got the job, and told Kathleen I would pick up the rest of the items the following week, but my new job was in South Sarasota, I live in Northwest Bradenton, and I didn't anticipate the traffic. I couldn't make it from work to her shop in time. I called her to explain, and she got mad at me. She threatened to give my things to goodwill. It was very upsetting. Once I settled in at my job, I took a half day off work to go pick up my items, and she had the nerve to say she was ok with me and she would do work for me again. I'm glad she isn't angry with me anymore, but I will never go back, one, because I can't get there without taking time off from work, and two, because she made me feel like an inconvenience for seeking her services.

Over the course of 6 months, I had called 3 or 4 times to inquire about the status, and each on each instance I got a different personal hardship story as to why they weren't ready. At @the 4-month period I did go in to try one of the three on, and it was still too big; if it had been altered from when I delivered it to her, the difference was imperceptible. Against my better instincts, I left it--along with the other two--with her so she could continue working on them, since I wasn't in a hurry and I figured I would give her the benefit of the doubt. When she finally called to tell me that my shirts were ready to pick up, I was deflated to discover that the three shirts (I'd paid $100 for them) that had previously been about a size too big were now badly cut a full size too small. She saw it right away and it was an awkward few minutes. She said, "Leave them with me and don't worry. I can make it work." Naturally there's no way to un-do fabric cuts and I knew that I'd wasted $100 and three back-and-forths to her shop on Cortez Rd. This was over a year ago, and as I expected, I never heard back from her.

Good news is we picked them up today and they are vastly better: the affected areas look about normal. Thank you to the owner for doing the right thing but her employee who my husband followed up with several times regarding this manner remained unhelpful, made no effort ( none that we could see) to notify the owner of the issue, and was downright rude and clueless regarding the shirts being redone. Not sure if we will return, but our expensive dry cleaning will most definitely be sent elsewhere.
