If I could give this place -5 stars, I would. I brought in two dresses for alterations -- one of…read morethem being a sentimental piece that belonged to my late mother. I clearly communicated that I wanted to preserve the integrity of the original design and simply have it fitted slightly to my frame. Not only did she ignore my request, but she also removed key design elements (like the buttons) without asking -- essentially reworking the entire dress into something unrecognizable and poorly finished. The second dress? She didn't touch it at all. Literally zero work was done, yet she still charged me $90 in total. She also failed to mention when I dropped the items off that she only accepts cash. When I showed up with a card, she told me she could take Venmo -- but insisted I write "thank you" in the memo line instead of noting it was for alterations. That alone made it clear this is an under-the-table operation. When I came to pick up the dresses, she didn't offer a fitting -- which is extremely unusual for any reputable alteration service. It felt like she was rushing me out the door, and once I got home, I realized why: the second dress hadn't been altered at all, and the first was completely botched. This experience was beyond disappointing -- it felt like a scam. I went here based on glowing reviews and was completely taken advantage of. Please be cautious. I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're bringing in a sentimental or special item.

I've been very pleased with Kathleen's work. She has done everything from replacing zippers in my…read morehusband's slacks to shortening my skirts and dresses. She has even repurposed a couple of my dresses into more practical skirts. Matter-of-fact, I need to make another appointment with her as I've two very long dresses that were for formal wear and I now wish to have them shortened so I can wear them for casual events. By the way I am petite and am under 5 ft. tall so finding something to fit me off the rack is almost impossible, and the last dress I bought was a size 0 I also had a very old skirt that I adored but it was starting to fade and show its age. Kathleen used the old skirt as a pattern and created a new one out of similar fabric. The new skirt has become one of my favorites. Kathleen is very pleasant to do business with, she is attentive and listens to what I want. I have and will continue to recommend her to my friends and family. I also found her prices very reasonable. (After reading the bad reviews I find myself perplexed as she was always very courteous and friendly when I dealt with her.

I had a great tailor in D.C. with whom I spent a small fortune, and I've been looking for one here for 6 years. I had two jackets altered, sleeves hemmed (no buttons) and pants hemmed. I was between jobs and I needed a suit for interviews, so I asked for that piece to be rushed. I dropped off the items, and picked up the suit jacket in time for my interview. I got the job, and told Kathleen I would pick up the rest of the items the following week, but my new job was in South Sarasota, I live in Northwest Bradenton, and I didn't anticipate the traffic. I couldn't make it from work to her shop in time. I called her to explain, and she got mad at me. She threatened to give my things to goodwill. It was very upsetting. Once I settled in at my job, I took a half day off work to go pick up my items, and she had the nerve to say she was ok with me and she would do work for me again. I'm glad she isn't angry with me anymore, but I will never go back, one, because I can't get there without taking time off from work, and two, because she made me feel like an inconvenience for seeking her services.

I brought the jacket back, but instead of acknowledging that something went wrong, first she argued that there is nothing wrong with the jacket, then that she doesn't clean them in-house, so I should deal with her subcontractor, then that this fabric doesn't shrink ( my sleeves that are now inch and a half shorter say otherwise!).
