​ Had a travel trailer tire blow south of Cortez. My roadside provider selected these guys too come do the tire swap (my Jack failed or I would have done it, but that's why I have a jack and have roadside!) They told me 90 minutes. I waited 120 and then started calling. Nobody answered their main line but the message said I could try a different number. I tried that number and the woman I spoke with said she couldn't give me the ETA of the driver so gave me his number instead. I tried calling him and could never get a hold of him. Tried texting him, since I knew it was a cell phone, and got no response. I have now been sitting on the side of the road in 90+ temps and it has been more than three hours. Nobody from this company has called to explain the delay, offer an ETA, or even return a simple phone call. Do not use this company. If you are a roadside provider, do not contract with this company. Update: I was there for almost four hours. After posting the initial review I ended up changing the tire using the cheapo tire jack designed for my tow vehicle and the help of a passing local. Seriously, of you are stranded these guys will leave you high and dry and won't even bother contacting you. When I posted this review to Google, two years later the owner responded to that review and accused me (and many other customers) of lying. I respond to him saying: I left this review on June 18, 2021 after being stranded for four hours by a tow company that refused to return phone calls, messages or texts. I have GPS records that show me being stationary and unmoving on Highway 491 south of Cortez for four hours in 90+ degree heat. Almost two years later (March 24, 2023), the owner has decided to jump on google reviews and instead of using the poor reviews as an opportunity to reflect on how he runs his business or ways that he could improve, he has chosen to attack customers, impugn their integrity, and mock people that he left stranded. He has engaged is delusional conspiracy theories that we are all plants from a competitor. I was stranded at purgatory. My car wouldn't even turn on. I tried to get a jump here but that didn't work. This company said there was going to be a few hour wait but they wouldn't be able to squeeze me into their full schedule. When the tow truck got here, the man (I wish I could remember his name) was very kind and helpful. He tried jumping the car, also with no luck. He drove me into town to get a new battery, drove me back to Purgatory, and installed it. I don't know how I would have completed that without him. Highly recommend! Truly appreciated! read more

I spun out in a winter storm, but luckily the car was not damaged. This was the towing company my insurance sent to me. The towing guys who came out were very friendly, but clearly didn't have the experience to properly do his job without damaging the customers vehicle's. He hooked up to the stabilizer bar instead of the frame so the cable didn't clear the bumper. Now i got cable wear into the bumper the paints all chipped the stabilizer isn't straight. To give them credit they got the car out, but they caused more damage than sliding off the road. Don't use this service unless its a total loss and you don't care about it. read more

I called these people on the advice of my insurance company, and they came late, and to the wrong address, but finally towed the car. The driver then made me a low ball offer. I was tired of dealing with it,so I accepted it, I didn't even get a chance to clean the car out of my stuff. I had the title and the bill of sale from the previous owner in my hand. He didn't have a check and then after a flurry of texts, he refused to pay. His mother or other older women then told me they didn't have to pay. Incompetent, lying and should be put out of business. Hired them to move a 12 foot tall shed to Pagosa. Confirmed the knowledge that this was 12 foot tall... meaning a low trailer would be needed. Driver calls me the day after scheduled pickup date and almost 3 hours late from the rescheduled pickup time to inform me it was too tall to haul on their truck. Frustrated and speechless. I understand things happen that can cause a delay but I expected the ability to know what they can or cannot haul. Wasted my 2 days off of work and the shed owner's time two days in a row. I gave them a chance, I'll know better next time. Not recommended. read more

This company was assigned to me by Jeep Corp. and the,person who came out did not have the correct equipment, made me wait 5 hours to show up nor having the correct equipment. After trying to resolve the electrical problem himself, promised me he would come back later that night a d tow it to the Jeep dealer. Next morning, he did not do what he promised. When I tried to reach the company all lines go to voice mail, which is full. He has my key and will not return it. My car has not been starting and it needed to be towed to a dealership a few miles away. I had set an appointment up at the dealership for 10:30 AM, and I called my insurance to get a tow at 9:30 AM, their first ETA time was 12:15 PM. I called them and they said that should be accurate and so I moved my appointment at the dealership to 1 PM. 12:15 passes and nothing. I called them and they said they're have it picked up by 3 PM at the latest. They also said they would call me when they were on their way so I could meet them at my car. I changed the time of my appointment again to the last available time slot. 2:07 PM I got the call that they were on their way and I should meet them there in 10 minutes. I went to my car to meet them and nobody showed up. And hour goes by and my insurance calls me and tells me they said they picked up my car which they didn't. Big fiasco for no reason. read more

SAVE YOURSELF A MAJOR HEADACHE, CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY! I had rented half of a metal building to store my camper and vehicle for the winter, the other half was later rented by landlord to S&R towing. It was discovered that my brand new camper was broken into, trashed and my generator was stolen by S&R Towing. Additionally my vehicle was dragged across a concrete floor with the steering wheel locked all the way driver side, which caused the steering shaft to bend and the cross-member above the steering box to crack. I have the owner Slade Dick on video, acknowledging the situation and damages caused, along with photos of the damage. On video Mr. Dick agreed to pay for all damages caused in lieu of legal action. After 3 months of hounding him I finally was reimbursed for the generator that was stolen. It has now been nearly 8 months since the damage occurred and I still have not been paid for the damage to me vehicle. The steering box had to be replaced due to the steering shaft being twisted from S&R dragging across the floor in various directions, additionally the frame/cross-member had to be welded because it was cracked from the incident. The OEM part would have been over $4,000 to replace, however I went with an after market $1,500 repair trying to be reasonable. Numerous calls and texts have been ignored and if you do get a hold of Mr. Dick or his mom they always have an excuse as to why they haven't paid or responded. Not only was my vehicle not safe to drive for 4-5 months because this situation, I have also spent hours trying to get this resolved, and am now having to make complaints and will be pursuing legal action for much more than actual damages if I'm not paid within 2 weeks. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I don't normally do reviews, but my experience over this weekend was so bad that everyone needs to beware. Our Chevy blew a turbo line going up a big pass. We were instructed to call My Chevy. Called My Chevy and they sent these clowns. Was told they would drop the truck off and leave the key in the overnight box at the dealership. Monday rolls around and I call the dealership to let them know what is wrong with the truck. They don't have my truck. Tried calling the tow company, no answer. Called my Chevy who attempted to call the company. No response. My Chevy tells me to call the local police and report it stolen. Call local police who try to locate the tow company. No luck. After 5 hours on the phone my truck is found in one of their lots. We're told it will be at Chevy at 1. Call Chevy at 3 still no truck. The kid at the dealership finally calls someone and about an hour later my truck shows up. It was supposed to be there Saturday when it left me. Cops couldn't find business....why are insurance companies and auto warranty companies using these clowns? read more

Do not ever use this towing company'! We have been waiting on the side of the road broken down for 2 and half hours and we explained to the dispatcher that we had a full size motor home! When they finally show up they have a tow truck that is not even big enough to tow our unit. When calling another towing company they nailed it. Said S&R will take forever and they probably won't even show up with the right vehicle to tow it. Terrible service and poor communication!! I can't even give them a one star!! read more

Called S&R for a tow as i was stuck in the mud en route to 4 corners from Durango(thx google maps for the awesome directions). They couldn't pick me up due to COVID-19, which is understandable and offered suggestions as to companies to provide me a ride. They then charged me $934 for 6 hours of powerwashing after spending several hours recovering my vehicle. When i attempted to pick up my vehicle they declined to give me an invoice as to the work they completed on the vehicle and were instead going to email it. When i got my vehicle home, i noticed suspension issues. Now it's at another shop needing a whole brand new suspension($1498.55). Not quite sure how during your extensive 6 hours of said power washing you could possibly miss that the ENTIRE SUSPENSION NEEDED REPLACED. Now my insurance agent says it's normal wear and tear and cannot be attributed to S&R recovering the vehicle from the mud. On top of all this they stated they would be charging me $40 per day lot fees if I didn't drive 6.5 hours across the state to get my vehicle during a global pandemic. If you want to feel violated in every sense of the word, and to have substandard service, by all means go ahead and use S&R. The initial incident occured on March 20, 2020.
