Was turned away once when my husband and I came in the evening even though the sign said last wash wasn't for another 30 mins so we were pretty disappointed. Came back to give it another try since it's close by but won't be back in the future. Half of the machines were broke and even the ones that were supposed to be working didn't seem to. One of the loads we started the water spilled in gallons out of the bottom for lack of a good seal. When we made the girl working there aware she didn't seem to be in any rush to help. She laid two towels over the water (which didn't make any kind of difference compared to the amount of water on the ground) and put up a caution sign. There was at least an inch of water on the floor. Then she didn't put up a sign or anything to say it wasn't working and another lady almost tried to use it but I warned her not to. It wasn't until the owner (I assume he was) came by almost an hour later did it get mopped up. It seems that this was a common issue because there were towels bunched up on the other aisle below other washers as well. Inside was very hot. read more

This place is pretty gross. Very sketchy. One of the attendants took a dirty towel that was on the ground to soak up water and set it on top of the units I'm using to wash as she was sweeping. The amount of clothes you can fit in each machine is not worth the asking price. The only reason I'm still here is because it was closest to the one I was going to, which closed before 8 pm. I'll try to be more timely in the future to avoid this. read more

Prices have gone up, its now 99 cents/lb, not 75. Since its switches hands, it's not as great as it used to be. The service is a little less friendly and despite being asked if I wanted things on hangers (I did), everything was folded. BUT they now take credit cards, and it used to be cash only. I LOST 70 lbs!!!! Have you ever let your laundry get to the point where just the mere act of looking at it overwhelms you? I had a ridiculous amount of laundry (I think about 70 lbs) I took over there... Picked it up the next day and it was all folded: underwear, jeans, shirts, EVERYTHING. All I had to do was stuff it all in a bag and drop it off at this S&J joint (not the most glamorous spot). Yea, yea I had to pay someone else to wash my laundry... but, in the time it would have taken me to do it, I ran several very important errands and took a very pleasant nap. I went in to do my laundry for the 3rd time now. They have a washer by the door that I do 2 weeks worth in for $4 and then I dry it for $1.50. I'm not picky so I throw it all in one load (colors,whites,dirty shop clothes, etc.) and this place rocks. The front load washer and the dryer both have timers so I can calculate how much time I have to go eat next door at the Chinese food joint that serves brown rice too by the way. The washer runs about 30 mins and 30-45 on the dryer depending on how many quarters I put in. Today as the "cart lady" came walking out , I stopped her and asked if I could get them to wash my clothes for me and I can come back next day for them. It was cool! I gave her 30#s of clothes in a rolling duffle bag and she hands me a claim ticket for $21 that includes wash/dry/fold. WOW I am done washing my own clothes from now on! It sits behind the AUTOZONE east of the corner of Maple and Inwood so come try these folks out! The slowest time to go is mornings especially on monday. If you get hungry, there is a Pizza Patron next door, a Chinese restaurant, a car repair place across Maple street that does exhaust/brakes/custom tires, etc (they are great!), across Inwood street is an African restaurant, a small thrift store, little Ceasars pizza, and other eating places and a taco stand. read more

I've used S&J a few times this summer since my downtown apt doesn't have a washer or dryer in the complex. I've been really bad about letting my laundry explode to intimidating amounts. If that sounds like you this is a great place. Pros: great price for next-day wash/dry/fold (89 cents/pound...cheapest I found anywhere close to me), options for same day drop off if you need it (I haven't used it but depending on the number of hours it is a little over $1/pound), very convenient hours so I've been able to go on weekends or weedays after work, very friendly staff, and they do a good job Con: cash only read more

Was in a pinch and needed a commercial size wash machine. This laundromat was around the corner from my house so I gave it a try. I was not looking for anything 5 star just something to get the job done. I will say I was pleasantly surprised to have walked in and found a decent location. It is very well maintained. A few machines were out of order but there is a large selection so that didn't even matter. They have regular, big and mega load machines so no matter how big or small you need they have you covered. Very reasonable prices and an attendent during the day to assist with anything. Also not too bad that I could watch Price is Right while I waited. All the machines take quarters but there are a few change machines. You can also purchase small detergent and any other laundry needs from the attendent. read more

S & J is a great find. My dryer stopped working and I had a growing mound of laundry. I pulled the items I would normally do on delicate and took the rest to S & J for their fluff and fold service. I took the next day service as I could wait. I was happy to return and get all of my items back nicely cleaned and folded. I plan to keep them in mind especially for items that are annoying to wash at home like king size blankets. I'd use them again if my mound of laundry just got too big as well. I think the rate was .99 a pound. It was less than $20 to have my whole pile washed, dried, and nicely folded. What a relief when you are figuring out what appliance to buy! read more

This place was awesome. It was dirt cheap and the ladies were very friendly and quick. I got my laundry back and it was folded perfectly, smelled great and clean as a whistle. My wife and I are staying at a hotel due to some fire at our house. The hotel has limited laundry facilities. We found S&J they have a fluff and fold service. So far our clothes have been cleaned and folded in a very good manner. The staff is friendly and engaging. I highly recommend this facility. The charge for fluff and fold is not only less than others in the area, the minimum weight on clothes is half what the others require. read more

We had just moved to Uptown Dallas and needed a laundromat. We had lots of move-related laundry and our W/D unit in the apartment was not going to cut it. Those of you who move frequently know how helpful it is to have rows of large machines ready to clean boxes of clean clothes that smell of cardboard and moving truck. Our visit to S&J was great. We washed the clothes ourselves and the ladies there were very helpful. Always smiling and pleasant. In a little over an hour, we were done with our laundry and out the door. read more

This place is great! I used to work as a bartender and this is the place we used to take all of our bar towels for weekly laundering. While picking them up, one day, I discovered they had bundle service. I inquired and they were very helpful. That was two to three years ago. Since then, I have been taking my laundry there for my personal use. They charge roughly .75 cents per pound. That's way cheaper than the $1.00 per load at my apartment building! You can take them 50 lbs of clothes, and its only about 37.00 to 42.00-ish. They fold, button, match sox, and will include hangers (if you want) for no additional charge. I went out of town for about two weeks once, and totally forgot about my laundry. I went in with my claim slip, and they still had it, neatly folded and bagged in plastic for me! I really like this place. It's a little out of the way, as I live downtown, but it's worth the drive and I found a straight shot (non-freeway involved) route. I can only speak on the fluff and fold portion, which has been a godsend. For the year I've visited, Maria P. has always greeted me with a smile and pleasant small talk. She reminds me of the laundry ladies back home in Long Beach. S&J always provides timely service on the cheap! I drop off my comforters and collect them the next day, clean and smelling all flowery, for under 10 bucks. Compare this to other services that charge 3xs at much. I knocked off a star after coming here for a few months because I've seen a steady decline in the laundry conditions. The machines that are broken haven't been fixed. The other customers that come there are rude and move your things from the folding tables. I have been going during the weekend when it's definitely busier. Point in case, I think I will look for another laundromat this weekend. I can't stand people moving my things and broken machines. I had to sell my old washer and dryer because they would not fit in my new place. I came across S & J Quite by accident, and I love it! I have only used the laundry by the pound service, but it is great. Drop off and pick up 24 hours later. All my laundry was neatly folded and smelled wonderful. I was a little hesitant to go in at first, but the ladies inside helped me right away and put me at ease. It's a little hard to find at first... Look behind the Autozone.. The property where I live has w/d behind me, but have to load money on a card to run machines across an almost 300 unit property... It was a bit loud when I showed up for the first time (only becuase my regular laundry was closing early for NYE). But they were open and clean and friendly (even the bathroom isn't too scary to use). Washers are reasonably priced (with several size options). Dryers are a quarter for 10 minutes, and you can add extra time before, during or after. Bonus: Located right across from a gas station for easy access to snacks, etc. read more

I give this place a five star review for one reason, Maria who works nights at the laundry drop off area is fantastic, friendly and always makes everything easy. I don't think I would continue to come here if she was not here. Broken washer left me looking for a clean and safe place to do my weekly loads. I alerted the curb side assistant this was my first visit and asked which washer to use as there are FIVE sizes to choose from ($6 to $1.75 front loading & $1.25 top load). He had no opinion to offer or interest in guidance. After loading a row of washers I noticed I had been standing in gum. Gum withstanding, the overall cleanness was lacking. I wouldn't wanting anything to hit this floor. The lady behind the fluff and fold desk was very helpful with the dryers. I may have spoke too soon.
