RYDE is definitely worth the hype! I used Class Pass for my first ride with Ashley, and loved her energy throughout the class. It is TOUGH, but the class is so fun and such a good workout. They have great amenities as well, including shoes for rent (free with a first class), lockers with locking codes, and water refill stations. They also give fresh towels after the class, which I always desperately need. The music is super fun, and their themed rides are especially fun! Highly recommend RYDE. read more

RYDE is one of my favorite spin studios in Houston! The instructors that I've been to have been awesome and I always leave feeling exhausted but in a good way. I like how they send you your stats after class so you can see if you're improving over time. And I love the cold eucalyptus towel they pass out at the end of class. This studio is super cute. Lots of parking on site and in a garage. Easy to check in and the guided tours help. I love that I can shower, and get ready for the day in the ladies room. If I forget my razors or pony's its all my disposal anyway. My favorite instructor is Jenna Lee. I love her inflections while riding and she has very easy to follow and has intuitive hits and drops. This is an ok spin studio. If the instructors were more like CJ this would be a 5-star review, but all of the instructors outside of CJ & Brian are pretty bad. They always seem disorganized. For example, we'll be one song in and the instructor hasn't even put on their shoes yet. I am constantly looking all around the room to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing. The sound system is not very good so it makes it hard to hear the instructor on top of the fact that there is very little instruction. Most of the music played is like techno. There should be more rap & hip hop. And for the cherry on top, parking sucks. read more

I LOVE RYDE. I've been coming here for about a year and a half and I still enjoy it as much as I did at the very beginning. The classes are challenging and the instructors have great energy. Each of them have their own style of teaching so the classes are all a little different. There is a song designated for arm weights (weights range from 2 lbs to 5 lbs), and it varies on duration. I do wish there was more time designated for weights. I love the staff and the instructors. They are SO nice and encouraging. They have lockers you can put your stuff in during class. Your first shoe rental is free but after that it's $3 every time you go. If you're going to continue going, I suggest buying a pair of shoes. It will save you a lot of money in the long run. What puts Ryde above other cycling studios is that they have consoles that record your stats and then emailed to you. And at the end of class you get a cold eucalyptus towel to clean off. If you're an experienced rider, I suggest sitting near the front. If you've never done a spin class in your life, I suggest the second row. That way you can see the instructor but not feel like all eyes are on you. The music is fun, the light effects are fun, and honestly sometimes you even forget you're working out. Try this place out. Pretty much can say I might be Ryde's #1 fan- I have been waiting for this studio to open up for quite some time now. It met my expectations and then some! This is such a fantastic place that I would literally recommend to ANYONE. I mean that! Any fitness level, whether or not you have any spin class experience. This is such a killer workout and you make it your own, which is the beauty of it. The facility itself is clean, bright, and welcoming. The spin bikes are really nice, and easy to setup. The room itself is awesome, with mirrors, lights that change during class (like colors, brightness, etc), and the most important thing a great loud sound system! I cannot say enough about the staff at Ryde. I have been taking spin classes for along time, and these are the creme de la creme of instructors. Trust me, this makes a WORLD of difference in a class like this. They are fun, energetic, charismatic, and most importantly helpful. I always leave class like, did I just dance for 45 mins or workout? Just such a great energy. As for some of the other finer details, they have shoes available if you dot have the one's that allow you to clip in. Towel service is provided. Bring your own water bottle (they have a filtered fountain), or you can purchase water. They also have a small selection of snacks and juice from Squeezed. Parking, at least for me so far, has been a BREEZE. You reserve your bike ahead of time, so there is no fighting for a spot here. This is probably a 3.5 stars review but I've rounded down in the hopes of effecting change. I just moved to Houston recently and have been looking for an alternative to Flywheel. I've been a consistent Flywheel rider for about 3 years and have also been to classes at SoulCycle and Peloton. Ryde is much more akin to SoulCycle than Flywheel. Flywheel uses metrics and numbers. The Ryde bikes have a display that shows you RPMs, watts, and gear but it's not used very much during the classes. Classes: At Ryde, you spend almost the entire class riding out of the saddle. During most songs, they ask you to do "choreography" such as bending down and doing crunches into the handlebars or swaying from side to side or back to front. You generally ride to the beat of the class. I prefer classes where you alternate riding both in the saddle and out of the saddle. I miss doing seated climbs. I also don't enjoy the choreography very much; I just don't think doing crunches while riding a bike provides that much of an extra workout. This is my biggest gripe with Ryde. The class is a lot like SoulCycle so if you like SoulCycle, it'll probably work for you. I prefer my spin classes to be focused on bike riding so it's not my favourite. Instructors: I've now taken classes with almost every instructor they have and overall, they all seem fairly pleasant. The differences between instructors are pretty small and most classes are structured similarly. If you're new, the instructors or staff will help you set up your bike and give you some tips before the class starts which is helpful. Music: They pretty much only play EDM. Once in a while, an instructor throws in a throwback song or a recent pop jam but mostly - EDM. I am generally not down with bike riding to music I can't sing along to so this brings the stars down a bit too. I think if the instructors were more varied in their music choices, I could just pick the ones that played the music I like but they legit ALL play only EDM. It's bananas. Timing: This must be a Houston problem but I don't understand why they have no classes in the 7:00 am hour. There is one on Wednesdays but that's it. I don't need to get up 6:30 am for work so I never make the really early classes and I can't go to the 8:30 am because it's not cool if I roll into work at 10. I end up going to the evening classes but I would immensely prefer to work out in the mornings so Ryde, if you're listening: please add 7:30am classes. Amenities: Lockers are pretty standard. The cold towels they hand out at the end are a nice touch. Regular towels are stacked on the bike. There's only one shower which is odd but I get the sense no one really showers there. They do have soap, shampoo, etc. if you do. I guess people go home to get ready and then go to work? Seems pretty clean. Clip-in shoes and water cost extra ($2 each I think) which is a bummer but it seems most studios here do that so not out of the ordinary. read more

Attended my first class at RYDE this week and it did not disappoint. The facility is sleek, clean, and puts you in a great mood for a legit SWEAT SESH. The instructors were super helpful and the whole team greeted you upon entry. It was awesome to see the crew helping new cyclers figure out how to adjust their bikes to ensure a comfortable ride as well as point out moves that would be used during the class. The sound system coupled with the awesome lighting made for an energized ride. The bikes are top notch (Schwinn Carbon Blues) and there's just something about being in a new space on new equipment that makes your workout ten times better. Andrew and Ashley did a great job of motivating the class and keeping everyone on beat, all while creating a fun environment. The classes are definitely suitable for all levels- beginner to experienced- and are guaranteed to make you sweat. The built-in consoles on the bikes help you track your RPMs, Calories, and Kilowatts, which is awesome because their online system helps you track your progress after each ride- definitely have not seen this at any studio I've been to yet in Houston. As someone who has been to various cycling studios in Houston and Austin over the past couple of years and as someone who cycles almost every day, I have to say that RYDE is definitely an awesome new entrant to the Houston indoor cycling scene. It was refreshing to see how passionate the instructors and owners are about RYDE and their desire for their clients to enjoy and keep coming back. My new favorite place to cycle. I love everything about this place. Very clean, co-ed, the location, the lighting, and online sign up for classes where you get to select which bike you want. Awesome. The bikes here are by far the nicest I've seen in houston. They keep track of your performance digitally so everytime you come, you get a performance comparison with your prior self. So everytime you come you are competing against you! Love it! The instructors here are super friendly. So if you're a cycling novice, this is a good place to start. And if your a pro, it's a good place to much improve. All of the music is remixed. So it has a really nice beat. No awkward sprinting to taylor swift. I'm going on well over 2 years as a client at Ryde and my thoughts have not changed, if anything, they continue to go above and beyond my expectations! This studio is not a place I just come to get my workout in, it's a place I feel at home. I can't step into the studio without knowing another person in the class! I actually have a group chat with a bunch of other clients and we sometimes plan on which Ryde we're going to take... before going to brunch. You sweat together, and then after class you talk about how great the class was (and repeat!) The social atmosphere is an added bonus! Customer Service: Top notch. You just don't find service in any industry like this anymore. From the moment you walk in, the front desk staff is always welcoming with smiling faces and attentive to your every need. Instructors: All are wonderful, and truly bring out the inner athlete inside you. They're all different so you never have the same workout twice. No matter the client: age, body type, endurance level, they motivate you and keep you focused the entire 45 minutes! You also get to know the instructors as not only your coach, but your friend. Extra: Aside from the fitness class component, Ryde gives back to the community. They are constantly having fundraising Ryde's for different organizations in Houston. They also offer several events and fitness challenges for their clients. Their Ryde For A Reason cocktail party is one I look forward to every year. It's an opportunity to get dressed up with your fitness friends, and see each other not all sweaty. You hardly recognize anyone not in leggings with their makeup sweated off! I've recommended so many friends to this studio ranging from teenagers to mid 40's/50's, all whom have loved it! Most of them have even brought their friends to come and try it. Since today was there grand opening they had Squeezed outside giving free samples and Snap Kitchen was also there giving away some tasty treats! The studio is very nice. There are lockers to put your stuff away during class. The staff was super helpful and friendly! I took Shay's class and it was super fun! I love Spin studios that make the class go by super fast with awesome lights and music! It definitely makes the experience that much better. As someone who has never tried indoor cycling I honestly had no clue what to expect going into my first class. That being said, RYDE and its instructors gave me a new respect for my friends who attend cycling classes 3-4 times a week. Not only did it give me a new respect but it showed me how people become so addicted to the indoor cycling culture. RYDE's classes are a non stop, adrenaline pumping, rhythm infused, total body workout! The feeling that you depart a RYDE session with is one that leaves you happily exhausted, sweating from head to toe, and only one thought in mind, "Same time tomorrow?". The owners of RYDE, Andrew and Ashley, have to me, created an atmosphere in the studio that embraces a strong sense of community both on and off the bike. Just being around them and the other RYDE instructors you instantly feel how passionate they are about RYDE, and more importantly, the passion they have for truly bettering you. I'll admit, even after great coaching by the instructors, I was lost more than once during the class. However, whenever I found myself confused, it seemed there was always someone willing to take the time and help me get better, push myself harder, and ultimately, make me feel part of the RYDE community. Ryde is amazing!! Let me say that I started being the kind of person that HATES any form of cardio, but Ryde has helped me change my mind! I've only been here a few times so far but loved it so much that I bought a membership. Everyone here is really nice & encouraging. Even some of the other riders help you if you need help with your cleats or bike adjustments. I can't say enough good things about the staff members! They've helped me set up my bike, get me water and get going for one class that I was running a couple minutes late to. Plus, they pass out eucalyptus towels after class which helps a lot with cooling off.They also have spare hair ties in the women's bathroom and other odds and ends that you might have forgotten just in case! The music is amazing, and all of the instructors I have been to have been great! They push you, but I love that ultimately how hard you want to work is up to you. Additionally, they send you your stats for your ride afterwards so you know how much you worked in comparison to your past rides! They also send out a leader board for the top 10 in the class and show you your ranking in class (privately) via email after class if you want a competitive edge. The prices are really competitive to those in the Houston area, and Ryde is the most cost effective studio that has a monthly membership package (which is AMAZING). For a small boutique studio, this is a great option for those (like me) who have a set monthly budget for fitness classes. Tip: Don't wear makeup to class, I always sweat a TON and since I go to class right after work I always end up wearing my makeup from the day under my eyes lol read more

Cheaper than SoulCycle but still has an awesome vibe, great community, fun instructors, and top of the line bikes. You even get a workout summary after your class so you know your metrics (cals burned based on your profile weight, distance traveled, avg RPM, etc). The whole staff is awesome, but Kelly's classes are a personal favorite of mine. She's super engaging and inspiring, whether you're a seasoned pro or brand new at rhythm-based cycling. I've been to all of the spin studios inside the loop, and THE famous one in NYC and I have to say that I've really enjoyed and continue to enjoy my time at Ryde. I was hesitant that Ryde wouldn't give me the full body work out I got at the barre class I frequented for a long time, but Ryde gives me all of the strength training I need plus the cardio I missed so much. Each class has a good variety of paces, quick sprints, long climbs, a good arm work out (start with a smaller weight, trust me) and ends with a refreshing eucalyptus towel. Some instructors are a little more generous with the fans, but thanks to the really high ceilings and the space between each bike it doesn't get nearly as hot as other studios I've been too. It's warm but not uncomfortable. Pro-Tip: Make sure you have a full bottle of water when you start. The email with the statistics keeps me working hard. Competing with yourself is the best motivation, and if you need any extra inspiration you can see where you rank in the class. Don't worry, you can opt out of the leader board if it makes you uncomfortable. Overall, Ryde is a modern looking and very clean studio with friendly staff and energetic instructors. As an added bonus for an EDM fan like me, the playlists always have new and great songs that make this intense work out a little more fun so you don't notice how hard you're working. read more

I have never done a cycling class before a friend, knowing I'm always looking for new workout experiences, suggested that I try it out. It was a amazing experience and I became a regular member after that first class. Set in a modern and well-appointed studio in River Oaks, Ryde is such a great space. Bright, well-decorated and welcoming. All the facilities you need including lockers are here. The room has a ton of bikes, mirrors on the wall, a light system, fans to cool you off (you have to earn that haha), and an awesome sound system. The staff is friendly and helpful, and one of the owners is almost always present to make sure your experience goes well. Parking has never been a problem for me. After you establish an online account you can choose and sign up for classes on their website. Immediately after each class you get an email with all your stat - a bonus for fitness nerds like me that want to see the numbers - and you can go online and see your stats over a period of time with comparisons between classes over a number of parameters. The really huge plus is you get to reserve your bike online so you know you have a spot and don't have to get there super early and camp out. The classes themselves are fantastic. Always a great workout - I'm drenched but energized every time. The instructors always have amazing music lined up and everything in class is done to the beat. It's almost like dancing for 45 minutes - an awesome and fun workout! The workouts have also been incredibly beneficial for my cardio endurance in sprinting. After about a month of classes I noticed a huge improvement in my recovery from sprints and other demanding activities. I can't say enough good things about Ryde! read more

Ryde was my first exposure to spinning. I've lost 13lbs in the last two months from spinning. The reason I keep going is because of the metrics that the bike tracks. You will get an email with your statistics after each ride that will help to set benchmarks for you going forward. When you're feeling like you're working hard, you can look down and see your watts and compare them to what you had from the time before and can work to do better. They really have a great set up and process. I can manage everything from my phone in terms of signing up for classes as well as looking at how my last class was. The studio itself is great with multiple lighting options from dark, to black light, to green, red and purple. The bikes are very comfortable and easy to use. They have clip in options for both 2 and 3 hole clips. They also rent shoes for those who may not have them. The music is great. It is always a different playlist from class to class and instructor to instructor. Even if the same instructor has multiple classes in one day, they will have a completely different class the second time round. Each instructor has an individual style that you will relate to depending on your mood. They have classes for the before and after work crowd and a full weekend lineup. It's hard not to find a time that suits you. Everyone that I've invited to Ryde has then become the next biggest fan of this new Spin Gym. read more

This is honestly the best spin studio I have every been to! I've been to a ton of spin studios in LA, NYC, Miami, etc and nothing compares. The music, instructors, cleanliness, and overall feeling of this studio is amazing. I've already taken over 10 classes and am addicted! Can also already see a huge difference in my body and endurance, plus it's fun and I've met a lot of great friends through it. The instructors make everyone feel very welcome and are extremely helpful when it comes to clipping into the bike, making sure you have the right form on the bike, etc. I also love the high ceilings because it doesn't feel congested, like most spin studios are. I am a new rider and I had such a wonderful experience at RYDE. The girl at the front desk was so lovely and she even helped me to set up my bike as I had no idea how to do it because it was my first spin class. The music was so good, the instructor, Dallis, even gave me the songs to her playlist when I had finished the class!! I am usually not the type to enjoy workout classes but I thoroughly enjoyed this class, the instructor was so vibrant and encouraging, I felt no pressure to do anything I wasn't ready for like the choreography and the energy was great!!! RYDE at river oaks is definitely my happy place. CJ is the best HANDS DOWN! He has the best music (sometimes I forget I'm exercising). He never fails to have the best energy and to make your workout an experience. If you are a Ryde newbie, you MUST take his class for your first class. MUST! Karson is amazing too. Her energy makes my entire day! Karson should look into becoming a hypeman one day :). +'s -The environment is so inclusive. It's dark in the cycling room so I never feel intimidated there. Everybody is in their own zone so you can go hard one day or take it easy if you're feeling tired...no judgement at all. -I just love the cutesy vibe of the place. -I love the pack vibe I get when we are all riding. It's hard to describe but you have to try it. -AGAIN! THE MUSIC! I can get lost in the music and I get so hype when I hear my favorite songs. I love the hip hop mixes. 45 minutes flies by when the music is good. -Those cool towels are amazing. -Seeing the amount of calories I burn just by having fun is so rewarding...love it. -'s -I've never had an unmotivated trainer at this place but some trainers' choice of music is UGH! I went to the 6:30 am class this morning and HATED IT. I didn't like the mixes she used. I didn't recognize many of the songs and huge chunks of the song had no words. Can't really get lost in the music if all the words are missing. -The staff is AMAZING...but please don't forget to scan around the entire room to see if people need assistance. I came here for a special workshop with Keith Thompson this past weekend. Don't know how it would be during a "regular" class, but I don't think I would try again. I've attended one other cycle classes in the area - and the other cycle class just seems better to me for the following reasons based on my experience this past weekend: 1. PARKING - seems to be non existent. This location is in a area with a lot of other retail stores, so maybe because it was a Saturday, everything was packed but I had to park 2 blocks away. Not good. 2. Actual classroom - again I don't know if it was because of the workshop, but the room was crowded with bikes. So much so, half of the time in the class, I was not able to see what moves the teacher was doing during the workout. This is not a problem at the other place I go to. 3. Bathroom - I might be a little over the top about bathrooms/showers at gym and exercise facilities, but this one didn't seem super clean to me. It was nice but not sure about the cleanest. One good thing I will say about the place is that the people working there seemed very nice and helpful. read more

I tried the $30 1 week pass... I went to the River Oaks location mainly and tried the downtown location as well. I probably scheduled about 12 classes within that 1 week. Overall the experience was ok... like any gym it all depends on the instructor. Classes are short in my opinion especially if you're paying in this price range... secondly some of the music selections are not that great and honestly a little too loud... I think they need a better sound system... at times it is hard to hear the instructors. The location is nice and looks well kept. Downtown location looks great as well. read more

I hate to write a negative review about a small business, especially a boutique fitness studio, during covid, but the disregard for client safety at RYDE cannot be excused. I decided to go because I had a class pack expiring and chose a class time I felt would be less crowded. While the class I went to only had about 15 people in it, no effort to social distance in the studio was made. The bikes are at their prepandemic configuration (about 1.5ft apart on each side and no space in front or behind) and every bike is up for grabs (instead of every other like I've heard other studios doing). As a result I was cramped between two people. I did request to be moved bikes but that hardly made a difference. In addition, the instructor had little respect for our desire to social distance and was walking between aisles practically spitting on us without a mask. There were fans going in the studio that may as well have been circulating covid around the room. Finally, there was not a hand sanitizer dispenser in sight. Not at the front desk, in front of the studio, or anything. I understand it's hard for small fitness studios to be perfectly safe during covid, but the lack of ANY effort whatsoever (instructors wearing masks, more space between bikes, HAND SANITIZER), to me, is shameful. My intro to RYDE was a yelp elite event. Elites were able to take a cycling class with 2 of the 3 owners: I was hooked. I then saw a tidbits deal for a 5 class package and purchased that. This has been such an awesome experience, since Houston doesn't really have a studio like this. The only cycle class I've ever taken was at a gym, and it's boring compared to RYDE. You cycle to really catchy, fast paced music, in a mood-inducing atmosphere. The studio is very modern and simple. Nice lighting that changes throughout the class, with remote control ceiling fans they turn on as the class gets warmed up. My favoriite part is the email summary. You get an account of the 'energy' you put forth during the class, as well as estimated calories burned, miles, etc. It's a great way to push yourself each time, and beat your own record. Very motivational I might add! The classes are $22 each, and $3 for a shoe rental. Class packages also available, and of course you can wear your own cycling shoes, if compatible with the bikes. Parking is sometimes available at the store front, but mostly in the lot behind the shopping strip. I just purchased another 5 classes, so looking forward to my weekly cardio spin! I'm basically a loner in my physical journey. I run at memorial park, lift at 24 hour, cycle alone mostly and have never been into group fitness. But, this changes the game. It's just the right mixture of space, limited light, music and killer bike fitness to suck you in. This was my second time there with a different instructor, but it has been consistently amazing. I had an unpleasant experience with one of the business owners Lisi. It was my first time attending her class but I found her to be completely ignorant. My bike's odometer cannot be turned on at the beginning of the class so I tried to get her attention at the start. However, she did not notice me. I was about to just forget about it but someone behind me grabbed her attention for me. I told her that my meter was broken. Instead of trying to fix the problem, she laughed at me and turned up the music out loud. I felt very humiliated by the way she treated me without resolving the issue. Throughout the class, she told us to check our rpm on our bike. How can you check the rpm if your odometer was broken to begin with? I have been a regular to this studio for 3 months now. I really do enjoy the upbeat and fun spin classes. Please address this issue to prevent this from happening to others. read more
