The one star is for the one nice guy who tried to help us but ended up no being able to find what were looking for. We ended up guessing and buying what we thought we needed. The girl in the office couldn't stop coughing, looked super sick. Now is not a good time to be working sick. We were told be 2 people to have them check the tires before we buy because they're known for selling and making money off rims and tires even if they dont hold air. We were mainly looking for rims anyway. The lady in the front told us how much it would cost for rim and tire and the tire was flat. We had to ask if we could get some air in it and check for leaks. We waited for some time but eventually someone came down and took the tire. My husband walked with him asking if they had anymore of the same rims? No answer. He tried to make some small talk, nothing in reply. He ended up jumping in a car and speeding off leaving my husband in his dust. Super rude! We ended up waiting for awhile not even knowing if he was coming back. Eventually he did, my husband asked if there were any leaks, he said nothing and started walking away. So I asked again, is it holding the air? And he just sped off again. Real shady. The lady in the front could clearly hear how frustrated we were with no answers but also stayed quite and just asked us for money. She also charged a random disposal fee for what? We didnt ask to dispose of anything. This is the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Shady business for sure, we will not be going back. read more

My leased MINI hybrid failed in the middle of me operating the car, with drivetrain failure alert. It was intensely scary! I was grateful my husband was with me, and that I wasn't alone when the MINI failed and went "limp" and uncontrollable. The MINI Cooper Countryman SE hybrid is an All Wheel Drive type vehicle, and as such requires flat bed towing. The MINI Roadside Assistance service selected Ryan K Towing Service to assist me, and coordinated my tow. I would like to give highest compliment to Ryan K Towing Services. Ryan himself picked me up for the 70+ mile drive in his warranty-appropriate flatbed tow truck from Hilo to Kailua-Kona at the BMW dealership for the warranty work. The load into the car was professional (my garage is lower than the road, and his winch smoothly loaded the car, no problem), as was his demeanor the entire trip to the BMW dealership on the other side of the island. I felt very safe. Ryan epitomized the Aloha spirit and made me feel that even though my Mini drivetrain failed, Mini was doing best effort to rectify my situation. Thanks Ryan! read more

have felt disrespected everytime I've done business with them. First asked them to move a trailer on my property for me, told me too busy gonna do it on the weekend. texted him thurs, again fri, tried calling, no response. He showed up saturday and angrily called me because i wasnt ready for him?? shows up on his own time on sat with no call beforehand, wasnt home at the time. calls me and bitches me out. well if you blow off my text/calls?? was i supposed to sit at the property waiting for him all weekend? then needed a hood, told me to come down to take a look at the hoods. failed to mention until i got there that i needed closed toe shoes (everyone in hawaii wears sandals) ended up selling me a hood that had been on fire at full price, i guess it was better than the one i had. needed the brackets for attaching axle to leaf spring.. first told me they only sell the whole rear end (axle and all) then told me they would have it by tomorrow, called the end of the next day to have some jerk angrily say "dont call us to see if we pulled your part, we'll call u when its pulled".. cuz u know.. if ur not gonna keep your word about when ur gonna have it ready, why call me to tell me, or for that matter, treat me with respect when i call u because yr late? at the end of the day, they are the only ppl that do what they do. for the love of god, dont show them that u r pissed, they will make u pay for it. they are jerks, and on the mainland they couldnt get away with doing business this way. Cant say anything bcuz they are the only scrap yard around. if u need big things towed or used parts u have no choice, but know ur dealings with then will be miserable maybe of ur local they might treat u ok read more

Hands down Ryan's Towing is the best tow service in Hilo. We were turned down by 2 other tow companies as soon as they heard where we needed to be towed to (volcano). The crew was/is awesome and very helpful. They listened with a lot of patience and took a lot of pride in their job/work. They didn't cause any damage to the boat or trailer (the axle broke off the trailer).. We were stuck on the side of the road. When they arrived they tackled the job like it was an everyday tow. (17 foot boat on a broken axle). Very fast service and their very professional attitudes made us feel relaxed and taken cared of. The response time was excellent. They were properly equipped for any type of disaster. Which imo is what counts because they were very safe and efficient in their job. After this little adventure I will always count on Ryan's Towing to rescue us. This company knows the true meaning of Ohana (no one gets left behind). Much Mahalo. read more

This place is a RIP-OFF. They don't even deserve ONE star! My son bought a used tire from them yesterday and within only a few hours, the tire was deflated. I bought parts there, they were helpful and nice and I got what I needed for 1/10th it would cost at the dealer.

Bought 3 used steel rims for a Toyota Echo. I was accumulating enough to swap the highperformance rims on an Echo in the mainland. Lost the receipt. After derusting and painting, thought to put them on a car here in HI to make sure they were straight. Two of them were not. I returned wondering if they would make it good or not. In the process of looking for more, I found a set of 5 alloy rims that would work. The price on these was reasonable and I did get credit for the bad steel rims. They were able to find their electronic copy of the receipt, which made the credit possible. Considering they might encounter a number of unhappy purchasers, I felt that they did go out of their way to make this purchase work for me. I had a good attitude, and so did they. Bronson and Amy handled the situation well, and I left a happy customer. I would recommend purchasing parts here. read more
