They were both delicious, unpretentious comfort food, but you could tell a lot of thought went into making them something a little more special than what you'll whip up in your own kitchen. Like the ham and cheese had something a little sweet -- I think a fruit jam? Which really took the flavor up a notch. Delicious. And the caprese sandwich had a homemade pesto. Like a real, proper pesto. Probably the best I've had in any restaurant, ever, period. I come from a big Italian family, and it's not often that I'm impressed by Italian flavors at restaurants. But wow. I was not expecting this little cafe to have such an excellent, fresh pesto, but just wow. The prices were great. Both of us got lunch combos, which came with the panini, a soda, and a side (you could choose from a couple, like chips or a side salad) for $12 each. And I was so full I could barely finish. I wanted to save room to try dessert, but the food was so good I also wanted to finish my sandwich -- it was a real pickle haha. But not a bad problem to have! Especially when you consider going to one of the chains like Panera, you'll pay at least that much for lunch (if not more) and not get nearly as much food, or food that's nearly as good. So I would call this an absolute steal. We spent some time chatting with Kevin, the owner, who was such a nice guy and really passionate about what he does. He told us about the culinary classes he's taking so he can level up the desserts he offers at the restaurant, including a realistic fruit pastry that's all over social media. It's made to look like a realistic piece of fruit, and then inside the pastry is a variety of fillings flavored with that fruit. Like we had the pineapple one, which was filled with pineapple sorbet, pineapple cake, pineapple jam, etc. You can tell he really cares about his customers and making great food for them. They're also known for their ice cream, which we sampled. Kevin told us about how you only need a couple ingredients to make ice cream, not all of these crazy ingredients some companies put in. Just real ingredients, and it turned out so good. They also have some natural energy drinks and real fruit smoothies on the menu, which I would be excited to try. I know this is a long review, but I really can not say enough good things about this restaurant. TLDR; Locally owned restaurant with real food from local ingredients. Great vibes, great people, great prices, great food. Absolutely worth stopping in!

Pronounced [bee-AH-lee] and Jewish-American in origin, the Food Lover's Companion notes say "this large, very chewy large yeast roll is round and flat with a depression in the center. The bialy is sprinkled with chopped onion before baking. The name comes from the Polish city of Bialystok." I love, love the version that Goldstein's makes, loaded with caramelized thin strings of onion in the middle. Already a matte finish light golden brown on the outside: it is well paired with butter, or my favorite, a schmear of veggie cream cheese. One difference between a bagel (boiled and baked) and a bialy is that it's only baked yielding a crunch. My wife prefers the Everything bagel, toasted with melted butter. If I splurge, the Bagel Shop Reuben or the Kosher Style Deli with pastrami, mustard and a kosher pickle hit the spot with intense flavors. Both are $13. The black & white cookies remind me of Junior's 1515 Broadway New York, NY, although smaller than their oversize version. You'll also find lox options, and other smoked fish plus an array of nostalgic canned and bottled drinks, coffee and can even order a Ubet's chocolate egg cream soda. Soft-opening day had a line out the door and then some. It was NUTZ! I ordered the Cinnie bagel (cinnamon raisin), pizza bagel, and jalapeño bagel, along with regular cream cheese and blueberry honey cream cheese. Hubs is strict about his carbs, so we shared one bagel each day over the next three days. We loved them ALL! Sadly, the blueberry honey cream cheese didn't make the final cut and has been discontinued. However, they now have a sweet jalapeño cream cheese that is just as delectable! When I returned on day two, they were nearly sold out by 11:30 a.m., and the Cinnie bagels were already gone! I reordered the pizza and jalapeño bagels and tried the Brunch bagel--an egg bagel with ham and cheese. It was also delicious! The shop isn't very big, so customers may need to wait outside while the people ahead order. Don't get discouraged if you see a line forming--it's worth the wait! The shop is decorated with vintage skateboards, and each one has its own story. Ask Stanton, the owner, if you'd like to hear the stories behind them! The interior is well lighted, has a fun display of vintage skateboards, lots of contemporary white, orange and wood and glass décor. No indoor seating or a drive through, hence the name changed from the original concept to Walkover Bagels. Growing pains when first opened meant long lines, frequent out of stock early, and a decision temporarily to not slow down the ordering and delivery by bypassing toasting or spread cream cheese on the bagels. Hope that changes soon. They've done as pledged, making more bagels every day, training additional staff, etc. However, it still could use a menu board or large screen monitor as you enter, instead of a small sign right by the espresso machine at counter height. When lines form, they do hand out printed menus. Most classic bagels are $2 each, the topped specialty bagels I tried are $4.75, the pizza flavored bagel smelled just like one coming out of the oven, it was that fresh) and the ham and cheese brunch looked appetizing, along with other topped versions. The bagels are chewy, and soft inside. Limited choices on the homemade flavored cream cheese right now. The candied jalapeno version, very good, had a little more sweetness added than heat. You can tell that the crepes are created with lots of love and attention to detail. My favorites are the chicken delight ($8.50) and the classic crepe ($7). Yes, I always order two crepes (don't judge! lol). The chicken delight is composed of roasted chicken breast, mushrooms, spinach, parmesan cheese, and pepper jack cheese. It has the right amount of spice to it. The classic crepe is composed of Nutella, powdered sugar, and a choice of banana or strawberry. Cammy, the owner, has such a pleasing personality. The ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful, and the sandwich was so good that I came back just a few days later to get another one. They also have a ton of milk tea options. The deli itself is tucked inside a cute older yellow house with a small, cozy setup -- one table and a handful of bar seats. It has a laid-back neighborhood feel that fits the place perfectly.
