LaFrom is a dentist who is very, very good at marketing himself and also very good at defending his actions. Unfortunately, he isn't very good as a dentist. I saw him for a while. I had a problem with a rear molar. His solution was to put a crown on it. The crown didn't fit right and had to be redone, causing me a lot of misery. After it was redone and re-installed, I was still miserable. LaFrom's solution was to grind it down and laser out the surrounding area. Again. And again. No improvement. Still hurt like hell. I'm in constant pain, I'm frustrated, and LaFrom says just give it some time. Finally I'd had enough. I went to see my endodontist, who said "The root is exposed and essentially gone. Looks like it's been like that for quite a while. If it were my tooth, I'd pull it out". Then I went to see my oral surgeon, who examined me and said "I agree with the endodontist. I think you should pull it out. You can't save that tooth. It may even be infected (it was)." So that's what I did, and all the problems went away! What, LaFrom didn't see that while he was working in there?? No doubt it was even visible when he first suggested putting the crown on, since according to the endodontist, it had been like that for quite a while. Maybe he just can't tell. Either way, I paid him a lot of money for the crown, and the whole thing had to be thrown away because he didn't recognize the real problem. Or maybe he did, but just didn't say anything. There's no way for me to know. He does do nice fillings and crowns, though. At least they look pretty when he shows them to you on his high tech television. He loves to do that. The teeth they're in may be rotten and have to be extracted shortly thereafter, but they sure look pretty.... read more

Update 2: After I wrote my review, Yelp moved it out of the recommended review (pretty sure you can figure out why) so I am re-posting to let everyone see it. Before you make your decision on choosing him, scroll your screen all the way down to see Yelp "other reviews that are not currently recommended" but true reviews from the customers. It was written in a very gray color and you can barely see it. Obviously, those who had a bad experience were moved there so that you always see the good reviews... However, if this keeps happening for some reason, a nerd like me will make sure that I come back and post another review. Original Review: I am new to the area and found this dentistry just like you, through the Yelp review. Rating was good and so I decided to try them. The experience was horrible. After waiting for more than 30 minutes, I was told the Dr. was too busy to see me (then why on earth you schedule me for a Dr. visit?). Equipment was outdated and I had to hold the water bottle. The first time cleaning was nowhere near my former dentist. Cleaning was done in a very basic way and they seem to be rushing to get off work. I need to do another X-ray for no reason... The list goes on... They surely do a good marketing job (reviews, website, promotions etc.), but once you were there, it was just the opposite... Update 1 (After Dr. LaFrom claimed I wrote the wrong review): I have to add this because I saw Dr. LaFrom's comment below. The Dentist I went to see is Randall M. LaFrom D.D.S located at 20445 Pacifica Drive, Suite B. As a matter of fact, you spent five seconds of your time and said hi to me, which made me feel so honored thinking back... Quite sure I am posting under the right page... read more

Having had a bad experience with enamel bonding in the 70's, coupled with an overall fear of dentists in general, my friend, (M), neglected his dental hygiene for many, many years. In search of a dentist last February, I called 1 800 Dentist for a referral and was given the contact details of Dr. Randall La From. It took only one visit and consultation with Dr. La From to end our search for a dentist, as he and his staff were "fearful friendly" and put M very much at ease. After taking dental x-rays and instantly displaying them on a computer, Dr. La From took the time and care to explain to me and M the various dental procedures he thought were necessary to correct M's years of dental negligence, and the estimated time involved in completing the process. One of the procedures involved a dental implant on M's lower jaw; gratefully, Dr. La From performed the procedure with expedience and precision, and M. felt absolutely no pain afterwards. The office has state-of-the-art technology and equpment and both Dr. La From and his staff are profesisonal, courteous and congenial. Given the condition of M's dental health and the level of comfort he feels being cared for by Dr. La From and his staff, M. is grateful to be a patient of Dr. Randall La From and plans to continue to see Dr. La From long after his current dental procedures are completed. read more

I have been going to Dr. LaFrom for about 20 years. He is at the head of his class. He is advanced in his field and he is up to date with the newest and best equipment and technology. I believe he was the first dentist in the area to use laser and the laser company hired him to demonstrate their equipment and teach other dentists how to use it. Dr. Randy is one of the mellowest, friendly guys you'll ever meet and his staff is super nice. Dr. Randy will make you feel comfortable with your dental treatments and concerns. He takes time to explain things and educate the patient. Years ago, because of a health problem that I researched, upon request he replaced my 4 metal fillings with porcelain fillings and did a great job. And he is very good at making adjustments to the teeth surface when there is an area of discomfort due to the teeth not fitting together properly when biting down. I like going to the dentist and not being nervous at all because Dr. Randy and his staff treat me with care and they even put up with my bad jokes. They are very professional, pleasant and even fun people. Dr. Randy's good nature and professionalism is reflected through his carefully chosen staff members. read more

I have been with Dr. Senft after Dr. LaFrom retired from the clinic. And just like other reviewers have mentioned, this office runs professionally and is pleasant to visit. All people in the clinic are really nice. Other than regular dental hygiene and dental crown placement services, Dr. Senft also helped me on a guided implant surgery last year. The whole surgery process went smoothly. It was not painful at all as one might have expected, and with very limited bleeding at the spot. Dr. Senft gave me antibiotic pills and antiseptic mouthwash after the surgery, which were very helpful. Other than that, I did not take painkillers after dental anesthesia worn off. It is true that patient will need to pay extra for the customized surgical guide to secure the drill. But the offered peace of mind from the procedure should have out weighted the price, I guess. Checks with Dr. Senft if you're thinking about a possible implant surgery in future. And google those options you might have on latest dental implant technologies. read more

I've been a very satisfied patient of Dr. Senft since he took over for Dr. LaFrom years ago, but my recent appointment was the first COVID-era one. A quick phone call from the breezeway outside the office, and an assistant came to take my temperature and then bring me to the exam room. I think I saw a total of 3 people the entire time, all of whom were masked; my cleaning went very smoothly, with only the ultrasonic part omitted due to the current health concerns. Everyone was super-professional and friendly (as always), and I was in and out as quickly as ever. I couldn't be happier with the service. (And though I'm no longer able to park my bike in the lobby due to COVID, I'm very grateful for all the prior years when I was able to do so!) read more

In the two months I've been seeing Dr. LaFrom, I've been very pleased. I'm a picky patient and will change doctors if I'm not assured of their skill or if they don't allow me to ask questions. Dr. Randy's skill is obvious... he has a wealth of knowledge and applies traditional as well as contemporary procedures. It's important to me that a doctor is willing to listen to my questions, as dumb as they may seem. He not only listens, he offers suggestions as to which treatments he feels would best suit my needs. He and his staff are very approachable and make me feel at ease. Because of my positive experience with this office, I've recently recommended him to my close friends. I'm sure they'll be just as pleased as I have been. read more

I have been Dr. Senft's patient for a number of years and recommend him highly. He has as gentle style both in how he interacts with me while we are discussing things and in how he practices his craft. One of the most important things to me (as I imagine it is for many people) is adequate numbing of the area he is going to work on. He has always done an excellent job at this, providing the anesthetic with as light a touch as possible and taking the time necessary, and using his skill, to get things right. There are many other compliments I could make about him as a dentist, but I will conclude by saying that I have recommended him to a number of my family members and they have been just as pleased with him as I am. read more

Dr. LaFrom is a great dentist and has a great staff to back him up. I have been going to Dr. LaFrom since I was a kid. My entire family has been doing our dental work with him for over 19 years. I moved to Colorado for 3 years for school and hated the dentist that I found out there. I couldn't wait to see Dr. LaFrom for my dental work when I moved back to the bay area. Dr. LaFrom is very careful to make sure that you are the most comfortable as possible when you have a tooth ache or are getting a filling. He will also do emergency work on weekends if needed. I swear by him and refer all of my friends and coworkers there. Overall I defiantly recommend Dr. LaFrom and I trust him completely with my dental needs. read more

He treats you like one of his family members. He has all the latest technology and the best part.. you dont have to wait for your crown! You get it the same day you go in for it to be prepped. I had several crowns and several inlays done. The difference before and after was amazing. Dr. LaFrom communicates very well, lets you know where he is in the procedure, and what's next. He uses current technology. All of my procedures were pain free. Since the crowns and inlays are done in house you can leave with your finished tooth not a temporary. Also, the office environment is warm and friendly. The staff obviously enjoys what they do. I have had several dentists over the years. I am thankful to have finally found Dr. LaFrom. I no longer dread a trip to the dentist. read more

I've been a patient since 1986. In that time Dr. LaFrom has been consistently professional, efficient, and effective. I'm not that young anymore and have no crowns and only a few cavities. Maybe some of that is genetic but I attribute my dental health mainly to the attention and care that Dr. LaFrom and his hygienist staff have given me over the years. My job has never provided dental insurance which Dr. LaFrom is always cognizant of and gives due consideration when planning treatment. I am very grateful for the care I've received for nearly 30 years now. read more

Dr LaFrom is AWESOME and he cares! He is the first dentist who didn't hurt me when he injected novacain or during any other procedure. He was able to crown one of my teeth that was almost totally decayed and made a partial to give me a front tooth again. Not only did the partial fit properly the first time we put it in my mouth but it matched the color of my real teeth almost perfectly. Being able to smile again without being self-concious did wonders for my self-esteem. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great dentist. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Randy's for almost 20 years. He is probably the most talented and compassionate dentist I've ever been to. He always is caring and make sure the patients comfort is first priority. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for an awesome dentist that is able to make a tooth while you wait! Just like takeout! Whoohoo. Alison is also the best hygeinist in the valley. Please give him a try, you won't regret it. And, you won't dread going to the dentist ever again!! read more

I highly recommend Dr. LaFrom. My favorite dentist, ever! Dr. LaFrom has taken care of my family for the past 15 years. His dentistry and suggestions he made for my daughter's teeth have led to her having a beautiful smile. He reshaped her mouth from an early age which prevented us from spending so much for an orthodontist. He has never suggested anything that was not needed, and has saved my husband's teeth. I appreciate being reminded to have our teeth cleaned and the office staff is delightful. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Senft and his clinic. Dr. Senft is not only an excellent dentist but also has a great personality. He and his staff are friendly and professional and the office is always up to date with latest tools and equipment. Dr. Senft takes extra effort to explain treatment options, ensure the patient's comfort through the procedures and follows up through recovery. I have recommended Dr. Senft to several of my friends and family and every one is extremely happy with him. read more

Ripoff alert! This is kind of dentistry where your regular dental visit can turn into a 1000+ $ dental bills. The doctor invested in a bunch of equipment and looking for you to pack the bills for them. He may seem very friendly. But at the end they do some procedure without even your consent. When asked about it, the front desk lady slammed the liability form in my face, the form that you generally sign in any medical facility in good faith. Save your wallet and find a honest doctor! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. LaFrom for nearly 20 years. He has the most pleasant staff and they are very professional. Dr. LaFrom keeps up on the latest technological advances in dental care. I recently went in because I broke off a portion of a tooth. He was able to make a crown in-house and I was done in just over an hour. I was very pleased with the experience and it demonstrated how up to date Dr. LaFrom keeps his equipment and practices. I highly recommend Dr. LaFrom. read more
