Dr. Crenshaw is as good as it gets. I trust him and that says a lot. The staff is great too. My favorite is Sherry...lovely and caring.

I've gone through two separate primary care doctors just to get the referral--both were approved by my insurance. I've filled out piles of paperwork, completed their long online questionnaires, and submitted every document they asked for. Despite doing everything right, they still won't schedule the appointment. Every time I call to follow up (which I've had to do over and over), they come up with some new excuse to delay or deny my care. First, they said they needed to contact my pulmonologist. What if I didn't even have one? Then they demanded EKG results from the past six months--what if I've never had an EKG? Are they going to deny me care for that too? It's obvious they're inventing hoops for patients to jump through just to cover themselves. I've had major medical procedures in the past that never required this level of documentation or bureaucracy. What they're doing is not just frustrating--it's outright denial of care. I even got my insurance company on a three-way call with them to confirm everything was approved, and the insurance rep told them directly that I was cleared to proceed. They still refused to schedule the appointment. To top it all off, their call center is outsourced to the Philippines, staffed with people who barely speak English, are rude, untrained, and totally incompetent. There is zero follow-up, no accountability, and no one actually trying to help the patient. This is healthcare at its absolute worst. Avoid this office like the plague. If you value your time, your sanity, or your health--go somewhere else.

I've been a patient for YEARS and only managed to see Dr. Lafsky in office ONCE due to repeated scheduling errors on their end. The final straw was after being denied a scheduled appt. With Dr. Lafsky by Nancy the office manager. All bc I missed an appointment while I was in the hospital with SEPSIS. Instead of telling the doctor I was there she sat me and my MOTHER down for 45min to lecture us about missing appointments. I even called from my potential deathbed to cancel and i saw Dr. Lafsky while in hospital!! Later that weekend, I retroactively received an invite from the receptionist Sam to an entirely different appointment the previous month that I did not make nor was I ever informed of. Clearly trying to clean up a screw up. So, after trying to schedule an over due Endo and colonoscopy for 3 years with this office, I finally gave up and found a new GI. I came in as a new patient, had my first appointment, and both procedures scheduled and performed in less than 2 weeks. If you are having issues with this office, it's them not you, just run. P.s. shout-out to Reston Gastro Health! It's a 2hr round-trip, but probably just gained me years of life back.

When you finally get to the "operator," the only thing he can do is take a message. Then when the right person returns your call, you had better be waiting by the phone! Otherwise they leave you a message and you have to go through the whole ordeal all over again! As an example of how bad communication is within the office, I managed to reschedule my endoscopy and received email confirmation. Of the change. But the office then called to confirm my original appointment. The RN with whom I had my original consultation was worthless too. She could care less about me, didn't have the medical experience necessary to understand my medical concerns, and didn't try to understand them. The only reason I tried so hard to get an appointment there was to see Dr. Gill, because he had treated my brother. But I never got to see him, not even in prep for my procedure. I canceled the procedure after all of that. I decided that seeing a great doctor was not worth all of the aggravation, miscommunication, lack of communication, and the number inexperienced people required to get to him. Really too bad.

I sense that the majority pay it without questioning as I did with my HSA card. I spoke to my Cigna insurance, they informed me that the $500 should be refunded. After numerous texts and telephone "exchanges" I had to return in person to get the $500 refund. I would not be surprised if a significant number of patients are unaware that their insurance company likely pays most of the coloscopy charges as it is preventive and that they should not pay in the first place and if they did pay, are entitled to a refund. The reviews about the front desk are similar to my experience. Without asking my name, she placed a wristband on me. You can tell she does not like being there and does not like her lunch being interrupted, yet she is the initial impression and the face of the practice. She should be more welcoming and professional

I paid it anyway because, as the AMGI explained, I will get it back in 3 months. That timeline came and passed. I got some of my deposit back only after countless of follow ups, phone calls, voice messages, and emails to their billing office which was stressful and increasingly frustrating. Paying a high premium for health insurance is frustrating enough but this experience pushed that frustration to a whole new level! On top of that, I learned through Yelp and other review apps that this did not only happen to me but to many of you who also went to see Dr Blosser and trusted AMGI, and then treated woefully! One proactive thing that worked for me is I reached out to my health insurance provider, complained, and asked for help to get my deposit back which they gladly did. After working with my health insurance benefits specialist, provided them with documentation, and records of phone calls and emails (so keep a log) and staying on top of phone calls and emails, I finally got my check but it was $30 short of the $500 deposit I put down with no explanation of what the extra charge was for, even when I tried to get one. My request for an accounting of additional charges was also ignored. Dr. Blosser maybe a good GI but you have other choices you can go to. Dealing with this practice's business office is a real nightmare!
